We bought this TV for the awesome price. Have one of the original LCD Sharp TV's still working great. This TV though was a big disappointment the TV already broke down just a little over a year of it being purchased just through my money away. I bought this TV to use with a streaming TV service. Over the last year , my experience has been that this TV cannot maintain a wifi connection in a manner consistent enough to be used with streaming services and with no cable connection. ( The tv is located directly next to the router and other devices do not have a problem) I could have overlooked this problem if there were an Ethernet connection, which there is not. This tv freezes several times a day and reboots it's randomly. I will not be getting a Sharp TV when I start looking again.

Some may disagree with me on this but TV'S, in general, have lasted me well over 10 years. So this one lasted less than 4 years. So yes I am disappointed, has sound but no picture. You may wonder why I would be disappointed in Best Buy also? It was made for Best Buy and sold only there and there is nothing they can do for me. SHARP TV'S? I don't think so.

Poor LED lifespan

I purchased TV this less than three years ago on Black Friday, the first one had no picture on day one so I was able exchange it the next day, in hindsight I should have purchased a different brand at that time. It was nice while it worked then suddenly no picture. Since it is out of warranty I called a TV repair service and the technician advised me it would be more cost effective to replace the TV than repair it. Apparently it is a common issue as this products LED lamps are of inferior quality and burnout quickly. I should have heeded my friends advice and avoided Sharp products altogether. I am to say the least very disappointed with this purchase.

I paid $350 for this TV & here is the 2nd one that the picture has stopped working. I have a RCA, A Toshiba & A Zenith all over 25 yrs old still work as a Disabled Vet this was a major purchase for me. 1st TV right out of the box had no picture called the factory & it was decided to return it well here it is less than 2 yrs & the same problem Sound No Picture. My model is a LC-50LB481U sold at Best Buy Only, I will say I love Roku & the picture when it works. I don't smoke, no children, no video games & the TV is not wall mounted so plenty of ventilation. I see Sharp contacting customers here I have the receipts lets see if they will make this right.

We purchased this exact TV a couple years ago and it worked great. It broke during a move so we purchased another about 60 days ago and have had nothing but issues.
- Sound - goes in and out and sounds AWFUL, like someone is in a bathroom then just randomly goes back to normal all throughout a 20 min program. This occurs in ALL streaming apps.
- Connection - we have a VERY strong connection with ORBI right next to this TV and it’s the only device that I have to reconfigure the network settings at minimum 2 times x day. When I don’t have to set it up, it takes way way way longer than the old one does for it to get connected on its own. It’s extremely annoying.
Other lags and what not occur, but nothing as annoying as the two main points above. I am very, very frustrated.

i had purchased this item on a walk in promotion. when setup, the tv started having problems. the screen would fade from clear and sharp to black, and back to clear. it would lock up when trying to change channels,and would not let you access anything else until it reset itself. this would happen every few hours. when best buy was contacted, they agreed to replace it with another tv of the same kind. i was hesitant to try another tv, but figured i would give it another go. this second tv exibited the same problems i had before. i called sharp and they ok'd a visit from the geek squad. the tech came to the house and determined there was a problem and ordered a new motherboard and wifi module. he returned after i recieved the equipment, and replaced both. after a short time it started doing the same things as before. the tech was excellent and professional. i think the tv may have been in a bad run of parts or manufacturing. it is now in a back room collecting dust. i would not recommend this brand, nor will i buy another.

I have had nothing but head aches with this TV. If you're willing to spend HOURS on the phone with geek squad and stores and sharp then this TV is perfect for you. Fun fact, this TV is made by Best Buy but yet no one is willing to stand behind the product. I've had 2 service calls on this TV in 10 months and I'm currently on the phone to setup the 3rd. Seriously. Dont buy this TV and save yourself some headaches.

I bought this TV in Jan 2017. After two years I got a line across the center of the screen. I see other reviews saying that the whole screen went black. I guess it's just a matter of time. Should have bought the Insignia. I also had many Roku issues. I bought a Ethernet dongle for the usb port and hard wired it. I still have to go through the wireless connect every time I turn the tv until it realizes it's wired. Never again Sharp.

This TV's backlight went out after 16 months, so it is not worth being fixed. Called Sharp and said they knew there is an issue but since it is past the year warranty, they will not do anything to help get the TV repaired, despite many people complaining about the same issue.

Worst picture quality

I had this one for several weeks. Definitely worst picture quality. It doesn’t make sense to add brightness level to adjust awhile many HDTVs don’t. The picture quality is little bit different between Roku built-in software like when you go into Netflix to watch, you can notice that picture quality looks less sharp or not enough contrast different than picture quality for hdmi when use Apple TV. I do not remember this product unless if you want to focus on budget and do not care about picture quality.

I had purchased a 50 inch Sharp TV about 2 years ago, when the TV stopped working. I reached out to Sharp customer service and was basically told I was on my own because the one year warranty had passed. When you spend upwards of $500.00 for a product you expect the product to last. Never again!!

It was an awesome tv. I bought the extended 2 year warranty from Geek Squad. The TV died 2 1/2 years later just after the warranty expired!!! Not Happy!! Previous TV's have lasted me years. Dont think I will be going with Sharp again

I bought the TV about 6 days ago. Downloaded Hulu and Spectrum only to not have them work. Could only download Netflix and Amazon Prime. Who wants to just watch that all the time? Not satisfied at all with my purchase. Also the WiFi keeps disconnecting. It gets frustrating during a movie.

LED’s in the top portion on the tv screen went out within 1.5 years... now I have to buy a new tv. A tv should last longer than 1.5 years. Also the sound quality on this TV is awful! Plan on getting a sound bar. Also, ROKU lags constantly and freezes a lot. Do NOT buy this TV.
