I've owned them all, Sharp is the best by far!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Samsung has been the leader for a while but I chose Sharp over Samsung, Sony, LG, Visio, Toshiba and Panasonic. This TV has the best picture I've seen that's not 4K. The price was phenomenal and I was surprised when the sales person said they had two in stock. I can highly recommend this TV to anyone in the market to save some money. Just can say enough about this great product from Sharp. Did I mention it's a "Smart TV"?

Great Picture, Nice TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv was a great value at the price we paid. Nice picture, easy setup, view-able from even a side angle. The biggest drawback is that the sound is not very loud, we will definitely need to add some surround sound or additional speakers. Also- the television began to shut itself off and turn back on repeatedly several times a day. I would wake up in the middle of the night and the tv would be on. We did a factory reset per the manual with no luck. We checked all the settings, with no luck. I called Aquos to explain the problem and after I advised the person of all the steps I have already taken, she walked me through a different hard reset. This finally worked. We have had no further problems with the television since then.

Can't beat it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this TV, and for the price you really can't beat it. Is it a crystal clear $4000 Samsung, no, but it has a great picture! The newer tv shows come up super clear in HD, some of the older shows from early 2000's are still a little grainy in HD but overall I love this tv. I saw a lot of people talk about the low quality of the speakers but I have had no issues with mine (it is mounted on the wall though so sound may be a bit different than if you have it on the base). My favorite thing about the tv is that it is a smart TV and with the press of a button I am logged into Netflix, searching for a new movie to watch. Overall I would %100 recommend this to anyone trying to get a great picture on a budget.

pretty good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got rid of a Sanyo 42 lcd fir this tv, must say it's quite the upgrade, excellent pucture, which is important because it was for my mother, she loves it, only thing so far, it's when I hook up my laptop to it wirelessly it keeps the picture on the tv the same size as my laptop screen size, I haven't had the time to read up and see if there are any settings I need to adjust fir that, but the picture as far better than the other tv she had, great price too!

Great value for basement TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was having a party and needed an extra TV to watch the game. I wanted the biggest picture I could get without spending a lot of money. This 55" Sharp Smart-TV fit the bill. It has a great picture and was easy to set up. I connected it to my existing Bose Solo Sound System as the speakers on the TV by themselves give less than impressive sound. The Smart TV function works great over-WiFi and even has Netflix button directly on the remote control. I have a 60" Samsung upstairs and the picture quality of this Sharp TV rivals the Samsung. Considering the price I paid and that it's not an everyday use TV, this was a great value.

Overall Great TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My boyfriend had ordered a 48" Samsung that I went to pick up and when I saw it I felt like it might be too small for the entertainment center we had bought. So I browsed around and had two Best Buy employees give me their opinions on which other TVs they thought were great quality for not too much more in price and were at least 55"... I'm so glad I went with this one in the end. More pixels, more clarity, larger screen and still a notable brand- for only a few hundred more (with full warranty). We love the smart TV features and that the Netflix is built into it- rather than having to hook our Roku or Wii up to it like before- and the picture is crisp and vivid. The sound is great, the size ended up being perfect and the TV was so much lighter than we expected. A+.

Great! (if you don't use the built in tuner)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great TV for the price. Beautiful picture and handy smart features like Netflix. But if you plan to use the built in tuner, you might want to look at another model. I bought this for our condo in FL which comes with free cable (via COAX connection) and I don't plan to use a cable box. The TV often has a very hard time tuning the channels properly and will disallow the use the ch-up/ch-down button on random channels; very frustrating. I contacted Sharp support, but they couldn't resolve the issue. This is probably a non-issue for 90% of the buyers of this set though.

Great for the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm really happy with this purchase. If you need to get by on the built in speakers they are actually not too bad. Typically speakers and inputs are the two big areas they cut corners in this price category and I'm please with both on this set. It's not going to blow your mind but you really can't beat it in the low end range. My only complaint is that when you have something plugged into the MHL port it tends to cause it to switch to that input when you first turn it on. I was using a roku stick and had to remove it for a full roku instead to get around this. A future firmware update may fix the issue. The image is of good quality and pretty uniform. One of the knocks I've heard others say is that it's on a 60hz tv but I haven't noticed an issue even when playing games. Side by side I'm sure I would see it but really it's not going to cause too many issues and if you're looking in this price range you have to make some sacrifices.

Good picture, good sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have no complaints with the sound or the picture. Once in a while the TV inexplicably turns off and restarts... maybe it overheats or something? It doesn't happen enough for me to call about it. The app selection is sparse, but I don't really care because all I use this TV for is Netflix and Youtube, and those apps work pretty well.

Great deal!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We are pleased with our purchase. I do not give 5 stars though because I have noticed a lag to the TV.. it is slow to power up and switching to Netflix with smart TV mode. Great picture, sound is good, and easy to use. This has been our first smart TV purchase and it was a better deal than getting a regular HD TV.

a good TV, not great.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I wanted to upgrade my HDTV. I had a 40inch samsung and thought I wanted a 50 inch. Upon going to the store I decided I wanted a 55inch, and my budget was around $600. Reasons to buy this TV: Large and affordable not paying for "smart" features (because you have an apple tv or roku or whatever) miracast enabled (stream video from you phone or tablet to the TV) Analog RCA audio out (connects to older stereo systems) 3 HDMI in Good, not great, picture (clarity is great, color is acceptable, solid deep blacks) Reasons to buy something else: viewing angle deteriorates beyond about 15 degrees (I built a swivel stand with a 5 dollar lazy Susan hinge off amazon) sound quality (if you are not using a separate sound system you will be disappointed with the built in speakers) Consumer reports says it is poor for motion blur, but so far I have not had an issue with it watching both baseball and soccer (football season will be the real test) here are some recommended picture settings PICTURE SETTINGS. Picture Mode: User Contrast (Picture): 31 Brightness: 2 Gamma: NA Color: -6 Tint: 2 Sharpness: 0 Color Temperature: Low Backlight: 12 Aspect Ratio: Dot by dot Miscellaneous: Film Mode = Standard (All remaining settings set to OFF, or 0) I started with this and made my own tweaks to suit my preference for vivid colors and a bit darker black level.

love tv except volume
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this tv. We watch netflix and with this it's just a push of a button. So is streaming youtube from the phone to the tv. The only con that i have is that even in a quiet room the volume in the room at 100 is equal to what my others tvs would be on if they were on like 15. So we will def have to get a sound bar. It does however have great features and the picture quality is exceptional.

Fantastic TV for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got it on sale for 499.99, still in shock how much the prices have dropped recently, this was MUCH less than the 39" it was replacing. The picture is stunning, the colors brilliant, and no noticeable tearing or stuttering at all with both cable thru HDMI or Blu Ray player even with high-action sports and intense action movies. As to the Smart TV part, when I bought this it was an afterthought as the old one I had was so slow to load anything it wasn't worth using, so I stuck to using my Blu-Ray for anything streaming. This TV's Smart section is lightning fast, and I now choose this over my BR player for streaming.

Perfect TV for our space
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was on the floor - a sale item. We looked at all the display TVs, comparing the picture quality, sizes, and prices. The salesperson answered all our questions about pixels, smart features, brands... While we were looking at this model in the store, another shopper said he has two of these and they have lasted longer than other sets he'd owned. Said he loves them. And now that we've lived with this in our home, we do too! It was easy to set up, hang on the mount, and it has a great picture and sound. I would definitely recommend this tv and I will definitely buy Sharp again when it's time for another TV in the house.

Nice TV, great price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV looks great and works as expected. A month after I purchased it, I had an issue with the HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 ports not being recognized. I called the Sharp tech support and the agent was easy to deal with. He walked me through the steps to fix the issue. Basically, nothing was wrong at all. Sharp did an update to the firmware and some of the settings needed to get adjusted. I was on the phone for less than 5 minutes and the TV is back to normal.
