A definite must when you don't want to waste a speaker when you have to directly connect it to your router.

Not a mandate to setup <3speakers. Benefits in setting up own network & probably not degrade home network perf.

I purchased this in order to clear my wifi router from all the traffic of all the tablets,computers,phones and sonos speakers. While listening to music it would suddenly drop, but with this it has been consistent.

I hook the boost up to my router so all other sonos products can be used wirelessly. I have had no problems as of now.

My Sonos setup wouldnt connect to my mesh network. So, after doing some light reading, the solution was presented to me as buying the Boost to setup a SonosNet. After plugging in the Boost to my main mesh node the system has no issues connecting to the Wi-Fi. Its very frustrating that Sonos has issues connecting to a mesh network in the first place and that it caused to me to spend $100 extra dollars on the Boost, but at least it does what was advertised.
