I have a very solid network but thought this would give my growing Sonos system a boost. Not so much, once I installed the boost my various devices started dropping connections. Returned the purchase after a week.

So you need to hope your router is already in between the two speakers otherwise you need to move your whole internet setup for this to be worth it. My router is in my laundry room; no where near either of my speakers.

Posted .The Sonos system does rely on consistent WiFi coverage across your entire home. A Boost will help if your speakers are spread evenly across your home as the Boost tells the Sonos speakers to function as their own mesh network instead of relying only on the WiFi coverage in your home. If your router creates consistent wireless functionality across every room in your home there is no need for a Boost. If you are having connection problems it is likely that there is a signal strength degradation happening as your WiFi signal travels farther from your router. If you contact our Customer Experience team they can run a diagnostic on your current Sonos speakers and make recommendations based on what is causing your experience to suffer.
