Beautiful Display

And google tv is always a plus. One thing i dislike is the stand. Personally i enjoy two stands on the end rather than a flat center piece although i do appreciate the addition of soundbar height adjusters so that the tv does not sit flush with the table top and doesnt get covered by the sound bar.

Definitely a better size for a monitor and also a step up in color accuracy and upscaling of non 4k content. Would be great if all 4 HDMI ports were 2.1, but that's not a dealbreaker for my application. Definitely would be a requirement for a living room TV setup though.

If You Like Natural Color

We loved our old (10 yrs) 40" XBR, and this is better - not as bright as the old one, but no parallax (you can watch somewhat from the side with no reduction in visual quality), and great color saturation. I like Sony because of the natural quality of the colors and skin tones, and this OLED technology is great - although better in the bigger ones. This 42" is smaller exterior dimension than our old 40" because it is all screen edge to edge, no bezel. I like it.

So yes, we have been really happy with these. Use them w/o any cable and just for streaming everything. We use them all with sounds bars FWIW.

I've been using it for like 2 months now and all i can say is this TV's a beast. I use it for gaming (PS5) and the games looks so much better than the 4k i had before. The colors are great especially the blacks.

If you are moving from a regular Roku or HD tv, this will blow your mind. The 42"" model is best used as a monitor replacement for gaming and productivity, and it has taken my setup to the next level.

This has an excellent picture and apps react pretty quick so no need for the Roku anymore. The over the air tuner works well also.

Great display, but weird overscan correction

I'm using it as a secondary, media, gaming monitor. The PS5 and Xbox Series X look amazing on this. However, I also have it connected to a 2080 super, and there's a major overscan issue. The "Wide Mode" option is permanently locked, unless I do some weird menu navigation and temporarily enable it for the source somehow. Then even after it is fixed or starts correctly, it will eventually make an undesired overscan change, and it will go back to not filling the display correctly." The best way I've found to temporarily fix this issue is to disconnect the unit from power and plug it back in. The overscan is correct for a while, and then it eventually and randomly switches to another incorrect setting. Also, this display does not look as bright or as vivid as an older Sony 77" A80J OLED. I was very disappointed when I noticed this, because this is a newer display. I guess Sony gives the larger displays much more attention.
