I gave this TV to my sister for Christmas, perfect for a small room. This TV is pack with new menus to learn. Coming from a non-smart TV this Google TV menus seems to be easy for her to adopt. The first setup is a handful but otherwise, this TV is beautiful and among the less to calibrate out from the box. The picture and color accuracy is excellent. For her to enjoy more I gave her extra, 1-year subscription with Netflix.

Sony 43 inch X80j is by far the best in this class. I tried a Samsung & LG at home for a week each. I wasn’t satisfied with .either brand so I purchased the Sony. Out the box, Sony blows the competition away. Factory settings produced an excellent quality picture. Sony has has several sound choices, I selected surround sound & it sounds great. Set up is really quick and easy. You can sync your cable box to the Sony remote & utilize one remote for all functions. Immensely satisfied with my Sony- 43 inch X80J television purchase.

Easy to set up. It's easy to navigate through apps, and moves smoothly. Its great. Picture quality is wonderful.

I purchased this tv on a whim on sale because I needed one for my bedroom. Wow I was not expecting the quality!!! I owned a Vizio and a Samsung curved. This Sony made me hate my Samsung. The operating system is amazing, no lags, always updates on its own. Sound and picture quality are perfection. Also, I love the remote!! I cannot wait to upgrade the rest of my home TV's to Sony.

I bought this tv on sale in the store. Based on my past experiences with Sony tv's, I decided to buy this one. Set up was easy, the color is crisp and almost to beautiful, the sound is ok, but I love that the remote paired with both my cable box and apple tv box quickly. My wife is so glad we bought this tv

My First 4k tv , first experience. Definitely a sharper quality of image. Great for gaming and movies at a size of 43" ; it makes a great gaming tv , it was designed . Definitely a gaming tv. Let me tell you, when i hooked up the ps4 pro , i was controlling my ps4 with the tv remote without even connecting/syncing , them being both "sony built devices ". I can only assume they where syncing through HDMI. Needless to say i now scroll on the ps4 with tv remote when on Netflix, youtube apps on the console. Tv does not come with a modern HDMI cable, or any for that fact . You can use regular HDMI, your going to definitely want to invest on a 4k/8k compatible HDMi( mine was rocketfish brand). If you want full potential of image quality and improvement you need it. This tv alone sounds like built in surround system . Which i dint expect put out sound like it does. Perfect , cancels out the need to purchase sound system for my taste. Even with the price im satisfied. This is a personal tv in the room. im going to repurchase a sony tv for living room in the future. Go big or go home , definitely larger tv for the living room so theres no regrets later .

Great picture and value, easy to install and hang on the wall

This is our first flat screen TV after our old wonderful Sony malfunctioned. We love the quality of the images on the new TV which we would rate as excellent. The sound is excellent. Setup took a while but got it done. I should have written this review earlier as I can't remember now what took a lot more time than expected. We have 2 remotes, one being the older xfinity remote with is simple to use. The remote that comes with the new Sony is not as simple. One thing that may seem minor to some is that some buttons on the Sony remote, like the Mute button, are tiny, black and hard to spot quickly without a bright light on them. This is annoying! I am still learning how to use the remote. My husband, who is "tech challenged" will never figure out how to use it. People who design these things would do well to remember that not everyone is good with techie things and that almost everyone uses a TV. Design remotes better! He uses the old xfinity remote and doesn't even fully understand that one. Yet he is a very intelligent man. Just not tech inclined at all. I like to find the remote button easily and quickly. The TV is great! I am not as thrilled with the remote as I am with the TV.

This tv was purchased as an upgrade for our bedroom, great purchase and a very good price. Had it installed by the Geek Squad simple installation and it went quickly. Good picture, easy to use the apps, also the sound quality is terrific, no sound bar needed for us. Glad we purchased this item

I’ve had this smart TV for approximately 2 years 4 months. It’s as good a TV as I’ve ever had. It’s the first “smart TV” that I’ve had, so I probably don’t use all of its features. But all in all, it’s been an excellent purchase.

This is definitely an example of getting what you pay for! This is my second 4K HDR set. My other television is a Samsung that is nice, just not in the same league as this Sony. The contract ratio and deeper black levels were very evident in newer films like "Godzilla vs. Kong." The Samsung shows the blacks as being slightly lighter in key scenes like the first time Kong reveals that he understands sign language. The Sony has a deep black that looks like ink. Lighter scenes also do better on the Sony. The battle on the aircraft carrier shows the clouds in a soft palette reminiscent of a Monet painting. Something that the Samsung does not do as well. Keep in mind that neither of these sets are calibrated yet ( how many consumers actually do that anyways?) and both were run in "standard" mode. The Samsung is not a bottom of the line model either. The Sony is just on another level. My next purchase will definitely be from them.

Smooth motion picture quality with amazing colors. Both games and movies look great! A bit too small, so I plan on upgrading to a larger size soon. Sound quality isnt too great, so a soundbar or external speakers is recommended. The only added feature I would like personally is a dedicated equalizer for sound shaping. Otherwise, I'd buy the same tv in a much larger size.

The Sony 4K 43" TV was an excellent upgrade over the previous 32" Sony that I had in our bedroom. The images are a significant upgrade and it works effortlessly with my AppleTV 4K. The TV is amazingly light and easy to re-position. A bonus is three HDMI ports and the Coax connector was also retained.

So Far So Good, no issues at the moment and still working as it should and back in the days I had a Sony tube tv that lasted 20 years. So, for the quality and brand I will consider SONY my first choice.

Not the most user friendly gadget in the world. Can't adjust the black/shadow images to display clearly without washing out the image when the screen goes to a lit scene. Also I can't get all the channels but I have a TABLO for that. The Sound quality is very good.

Excellent picture, easy to use, set up is a breeze, WiFi connection is seamless. Highly recommend. Probably my 4th Sony TV and everyone of them has impressed me. I don't think there is a better TV for the money.

After reading reviews for other TV brands in this size category, I knew this SONY X80J was the one for me. Some other TV brands were half the price of this SONY, but all the mixed reviews were too much of a gamble. Better to spend more now and have peace of mind that it won’t stop working in 6 months. The resolution of SONY X80J is almost too HD for me, and is taking time to get used to. Any higher resolution above this model, would be lost on me. Beautiful picture, clear sound, simple setup. The wallpaper photo slides when the screen is idle is my favorite feature. If you’re wall-mounting, be sure to look for the special mounting screws included in the bag with the remote. I almost missed these screws and thought I had to purchase them separately.

I bought this TV for all the wrong reasons. The stand had to fit on a wood vertical file in my bedroom and it had to work with my remote that was keyed to work with a Sony. Whatever reason I am delighted with the picture and after a learning curve, the ease of use. I am not used to using anything but my cable TV. It introduced me to free streaming services I didn't know existed. The picture is excellent and I no longer need my Firestick, which I could not use with my 15 year old Sony as I needed to sole available connection for my cable service.

great price for such a beautiful TV, Love google TV, so easy to use, fast and efficient ,love the remote , sound is really good. Knew I wanted a Sony after owning other brands, excellent quality.
