The quantum dots make each color so vibrant, the image processing so lifelike that the image really does POP, despite how cliche' that sounds. I use this as my computer monitor, and it knocks it out of the park.

Couldn't risk other brands that were less expensive. You get what you pay for. Even better than the older one! Very nice all around - picture, sound, size, ease of remote operation. Slightly disappointed I could not easily connect older components, but technology changes. I was able to adapt them!!!

I have had sound bars that do not sound as good. Unbelievable bass notes for a TV. Pure blacks and brilliant whites, might need sunglasses. Even images so dark as to be washed black on other screens are defined and clear. Motion is seamless. I use as a desktop monitor also and text is sharp and clear.

I'm still adjusting the visuals. I got the SONY because their sound is superior to LG and Samsung...otherwise, they were pretty much the same: dark. You really have to play with the picture parameters to get something good...

Switching to a universal remote helped, but I still think the original remote should be more versatile …without having to go through so many clicks to get where you’re going.

The picture quality is excellent. The Google TV back end is slick. The built in speakers are adequate but I did add a Sonos soundbar. I even like the TV remote. I also like the stand which is much better than the "V" legs that most TV's come with. It can be low as shown in the pictures or extensions added to raise it above a typical soundbar.

Out of the box greatness

The A90k looks phenomenal out of the box. I compared this to an LG C2 and although the LG is good, the Sony has the out of the box picture you don't need to fuss with to make look amazing. The tonal range was great. I could see detail in the Sony in dark images that could not be viewed on the LG without turning down brightness and contrast. The Android OS is simple and straightforward. Sony's weakness used to be their operating system but that is no longer an issue and I actually prefer their system to LG, which is a huge surprise because I used to prefer it over Sony and Samsung. Motion is smooth and fluid. I thought the LG would edge out the Sony in terms of motion but they were equally great. LG may have an edge if you are considering using a TV as a PC monitor. The acoustic panel behind the screen is also a plus for me. I didn't know what kind of difference having the sound coming directly out of the screen would make but it is hard to listen to content from any other TV now! Overall, the Sony A90K is the best Oled TV you can buy right now for a great, effortless out of the box image.

I don't need to fine tune color, gamma, contrast, and etc. Sound quality is OK, good enough for TV news. I don't use TV speakers anyhow. TV remote control is OK, though I bought a cheap replacement TV remote control from Amazon as a backup. Usually I use Apple wireless keyboard and USB wireless mouse to control the TV, especially for searching YouTube video. I am a small guy, the TV is not too heavy for me to unbox it. I read the manual and made a step-by-step plan so that I could set up the TV on table top all by myself, no injury. I highly recommend this TV to videophile.

That said, I was also hoping for a drop in price but that never came. I finally took the leap and purchased an open box in the "excellent" category. It was shipped to me in PERFECT condition and looking totally brand new. It's a fantastic TV. As silly as this might sound, I'm in love with the remote. Love the way it has a wonderful weight and just looks expensive. It is also backlit. Anyway, the picture is spectacular and the connection to the internet is perfect. The only adjustment I made to the screen was to put it at "vivid" and no energy saver. The sound is totally adequate. I'm not a gamer. Just using it for general TV watching.

And the sound is OK without a sound bar. It has already had to be replaced with a new unit by SONY. This after MONTHS of spending hours with support to fix a problem that ultimately wasn't fixable (they said bad motherboard). But that was not before subtly accusing the internet provide, the streaming provider and ME of all being the problem first. I spent hours moving routers, checking lag times, rebooting, clearing caches, taking to internet and streaming providers as I was secondhand accusing them of causing the problems. And the TV STILL can't seem to keep the picture and the sound synced so lips move but not when voices are heard. Oh well...and now the replacement unit is making clicking noises (similar to the sounds of "on/off" when the TV is off! Got an extended warranty for al my trouble so we will see if the new one makes it to Nov. Now for BEST BUY. Hated the experience-actually enjoyed my recent dental visit more. The sales guy was...a jerk...in a word (the kindest one I could think of). He was all friendly until I refused the $200 member plan or whatever it is. Then he became disinterested and actually quite dismissive and RUDE. He did hang in there long enough to take the credit card. But once that was done, he offered ZERO information about my delivery. nothing, NADA. Filled out the requested feedback form and a manager wanted to "hear more" except never reached back out or was available, The store had some sort of a sign about their achievements-all fake news I am thinking. NYC can be a tough place in a lot of ways but to spend $1500 bucks on a 48" TV (If I bought a different brand it would have been 1/3 the price) and be treated like trash wasn't really on my agenda that day, I should have just walked out-so that part is on me. Won't accept that kind of abuse again.

Great TV, worked well as a monitor

Had to adjust quite a few settings and mess with GPU settings too in order to get it to push 120Hz. After that, it worked great and is just a beautiful display.

The setup was mostly easy save for a connection issue between the TV and the 3090TI. It turned out to be a firmware issue on EVGA's side and I sorted it by going back to the standard bios vs. the XOC version. On to the TV...what an incredible beauty this thing is. It has the stunning picture quality Sony is known for, menus are responsive and easy to navigate, and the content available via Pluto TV, Disney+, ESPN, and Apple TV make it a winner. My only gripe is they don't have the Spectrum app. Video editing in Premiere Pro 4k HDR is as awesome as it should be. Colors correction and grading are accurate and being able to edit in full 4k is helpful. The screen res is also right to give enough real estate. Gaming is on another level. I've had multiple 1440p monitors from Alienware, Samsung Super Ultra Wide, and LG 32ins for iRacing. This one is by far the best. I have no lag enabling Gsync (it's not hardware-enabled, but works well in 120hz VRR mode) and COD/Destiny 2 have never looked better. This is a winner!!
