STR DN 1070 Receiver
K65XR80 Sony TV
4K Firestick
I have the equipment above and want it to work the way it worked when I had a Samsung TV. The Sony TV is the new piece of equipment.
The Firestick is plugged into the Game HDMI port on the receiver and the HDMI output of the receiver is plugged into HDMI 3 ARC input on the TV.
I want the Firestick remote to control the TV, the receiver, and the Firestick. With the old Samsung TV when I pressed the power button on the Firestick remote the TV came on to the correct input on the receiver and the TV.
With the new Sony TV when I press the power button on the Firestick remote the TV comes on but it defaults to HDMI 1. ( I have the TV setup to come on to the Last Input used but it does not seem to matter). I have the TV button on the Sony TV remote set for HDMI 3 so the TV changes to HDMI 3 when it is pressed. This puts me at the setup screen on the receiver where I have to select the Game input to use the Firestick. The Firestick then appears and can be used as log as the Home button on the Firestick remote is not pressed.
At this point when I press the home button on the Firestick remote the TV switches to HDMI 1 and of course the Firestick does not work any longer.
I have tried every combination of CEC control on the three devices and the best I have gotten is that the Firestick remote will power the TV on/off and control the volume on the receiver. Once again if I press the Home button on the Firestick remote the TV goes to HDMI 1. I have yet to get the TV to default to the HDMI 3 input using the Firestick remote.
Any ideas would be appreciated as to how to setup the CEC controls on these three devices.

This tv is truly beautiful,I mean the clarity of the 4k really speaks volumes! The ps5 slim plays so smoothly that i cant wait to see my ps5 Pro on it,with that this tv is worth the money if you love movies,4k streaming,and gaming and the diamond of entertainment.

WARNING:NEVER BUY SONY BRAVIA FROM BEST BUY

First of all — NEVER buy a Sony Bravia from Best Buy.
Once they have your money, you’re not getting it back. Period.
This TV has been a complete nightmare from day one.
• TV constantly shuts off by itself
• Smart system is laggy, slow, freezing
• External devices are painfully slow
• Random reboots, delays, glitches — you name it
I tried everything:
• Updates
• Resets
• Different settings
• External devices
• Power cycles
Nothing fixes it. Absolutely nothing.
And what does Best Buy do?
They keep throwing the same “t-shirt level troubleshooting” at you over and over like:
“Did you try restarting it?”
“Did you update the software?”
“Let’s reset it again…”
No solution. No accountability. No refund.
Worst service
Worst TV experience
Zero customer protection
And of course, you can’t return it, because apparently a TV that shuts off, lags, and barely works is considered “good enough” by Best Buy standards.
So yeah —
Worst Buy service. Worst Buy quality control.
Sony Bravia + Best Buy is a combo I wouldn’t recommend to anyone, not even an enemy.
Save your money. Save your time. Save your sanity.
Buy literally anything else — anywhere else.
We are truly sorry to hear about the ongoing technical nightmares you’ve experienced with your K-65XR80 and the frustration you've encountered with the support process. Constant power cycles, laggy performance, and system freezes are certainly not the premium experience we intend to deliver with the Bravia 8, and we sincerely apologize for the impact this has had on your sanity and your time.

OLED is next level realism. The darks are so dark that it really pulls you into what you are watching. The upscaling of this TV is exceptional. We watch a lot of DVD quality things on this TV and rarely do I find anything that looks sub-par. I am very impressed.

it has great picture when i can get on internet. for some reason Hulu doesnt want to load on it. it works everywhere else in house two other tvs and phones laptop. i get on prime Netflix and more. i have fiber optic. i have to call geek squad and see what they say. never had this prob with lg. but this pic is so much better when it works.
We understand how frustrating it is when a single app like Hulu has issues, especially when other streaming services work perfectly, and we appreciate you noting the superior picture quality of your BRAVIA 8 OLED. Since other apps are fine, this is likely a software conflict with the Hulu app itself. Please try the following steps, which often resolve this specific app issue: first, go to Settings, then to Apps, then to See all apps, find Hulu and select Clear cache and then Clear data; next, unplug the TV from the power outlet for two minutes, then plug it back in to perform a full system reset. Great picture! Vibrant colors and a minimal reflective screen for a “65” TV . Also had very good sound but added a Sony sound bar to enhance the sound quality. East setup.
