Amazing TV especially for PS5

The google interface is easy to navigate and customize. The picture quality is excellent. The PS5 looks stunning when playing. You will have to mess with a couple of settings to be able to use the 120hz refresh, but its super easy to do. I highly recommend buying this tv.

Sony Bravia 8 is noteworthy

It’s almost 3D and the tech is noticeably different to my 9000 tv I bought 9 years ago and at a much cheaper price. My son games on the tv and he is constantly telling me about all the details, like the light reflection off players hockey breezers which he couldn’t notice before. Just saying it’s worth the money.

Good picture, brightness struggles

Google TV is fast and smooth, though the interface is not 4K (1080p? meh, doesn't affect the content). After initial setup, picture was quite dim but I was able to get it to a good level by playing with the settings, turning off eco mode, etc. Plugged in my laptop to play some games and I noticed a peculiar brightness issue: in bright scenes after a few seconds, the panel dims well below what I'd consider acceptable, especially if you're playing a game where you don't have the constant cuts between scenes like a movie or TV show. Turns out this is a feature of most OLEDs called ABL which is in place to protect the panel, and it's particularly aggressive on this model. One review site measured it near 150 nits for a full white screen... for perspective, your phone on max brightness is probably between 400-1000. Most of the time the screen was perfectly acceptable for indoor viewing but these edge cases drove me crazy and ultimately I returned the TV. Guess it's back to LCD land for me. Shame because the colors and clarity were great otherwise.

Beautiful clear picture

We chose Sony for the quality, ease of set up, integration with PS5, and great reviews! So far the tv has met and exceeded our expectations with color, brightness, and performance from Gaming, streaming, and blu-rays. If your looking for a new set, this one is great and I highly recommend it

Picture settings are great out of the box and everything looks just beautiful especially content with dolby vision. The sound is extremely good for built in speakers and you are able to hear conversations clearly although I use a surround sound system, i did test the buit in speakers. For gaming is a plus too with vrr and 120hz using hdmi 2.1, so far i have tested xbox series x, laptop with 4080 and desktop with 4080 super and games never looked better. I do have a 65 sony A8h and a 55 a90j and this was an excellent addition to the family.

Bargain of a great tv

Right off the bat, the Google operating system is significantly faster than the Samsung interface. The picture quality is obviously much better. Just a great upgrade and glad I decided to go with Sony.

Fantastic upgrade

The Bravia 8 is replacing my eight year- old Bravia 4K HD, which still works great (Sony quality). The B-8’s picture is extremely vivid and accurate. It’s in a relatively bright room but the colors still hold up. The audio is great too as you can enhance it for speech, which makes dialog easier to hear. Well worth the price compared to other similar units.

Very nice TV

The picture is very sharp and the colors are great. I use the Audio Quest Vodka and Carbon HDMI cables for my TV & components. I recently purchased a new Denon AVR and the picture is more clear and vivid than with my older receiver. It looks great. Got a good price on it, also saw it was a $100 cheaper a few days later and was able to get the added $100 discount. A good buy for me. I hope to enjpoy it for as long as I did my previous Sony TV

Never going back

I really feel like for the first time in my life I’m seeing what was meant to be seen. Watching movies on bravia core is better than theatres! But I do recommend having a surround sound or figuring out how to buy the center spreaker snd having a place for it. The sound only comes out of the back otherwise. The best part is that it really doesn’t take much to tweak the picture and it always look great sven if you don’t pic the best one

Why Switch?

I did some research and decided to get a Samsung but, when I was in the store and saw the Samsung and a new Sony Bravia side by side, the Sony looked like a better picture to me. I mulled it over and thought "the Sony has been very good to me, why am I considering switching brands". I've had the tv for a few weeks now and I am very happy.

Amazing TV as expected from Sony

The OLED screen is bright in indirect sunlight and the picture quality is the quality you would expect from Sony. I compared this to the LG C4 in store and preferred the Bravia. There is also plenty of smart TV features and the apps are integrated well into the main OS of the TV. I’m very happy with this purchase and recommend it if you are in the market for this size / panel type.
