The images are razor sharp and the colors are quite vivid. Close ups show the pores on people's faces as if they are in the room with you. Can't ask for more.

Better side view picture quality. Our Family room is shallow so side viewing was challenging with our lesser Sony model noticeably better with this model.

The only complaint is that the Amazon remote will not fully control some features in the Sony (that I can figure out) so you still have multiple remotes

Manufacturers may assign different code numbers in their universal remote controls to identify the Infrared (IR) signal of a Sony product. Thus, the code number used for operating a Sony product in one remote control may be different from that used by another.
For information about programming a third-party remote control, contact the manufacturer of the remote control.

Prefect Christmas present. Hooked it up to a Bose center channel for exceptional sound quality. Sony doesn’t compare in that aspect.

Didn’t blow me away

Picture was amazing but the brightness wasn’t as bright as the old on standard mode. After messing with all the setting, I feel like the voices and sound didn’t match up perfectly Old Sony Bravia was bought in 2016 so was expecting a major upgrade but just wasn’t it. Will stick with Sony but wasn’t a fan on this one

Thanks for sharing your experience with the Sony BRAVIA 8. The BRAVIA 8 has an outstanding reflection handling. This TV offers good viewing performance from the sides and exceptional picture quality. However, it sounds like the glare and brightness didn't meet your expectations, and there were some sync issues with the audio. It's understandable to expect a significant upgrade after almost a decade. Since you plan to stick with Sony, you might want to look into specific settings adjustments or possibly firmware updates that could address some of these concerns. To ensure optimal performance, we strongly recommend downloading and installing the latest software update for your TV.

Additionally, to achieve the best picture quality, we recommend not exposing the screen to direct illumination or sunlight and avoiding installing the TV in a room with reflective walls and floor materials. Only the following models features X-wide angle & X-anti reflection technologies: X93L, X95L, Z9K and BRAVIA 9 Google TV.

Known defect with Sony Bravia 8 no solution

They say it’s a known problem with the Bravia 8, they don’t have a solution for it yet so I have to deal with the fact that my TV shuts down 2, 3,4 times a day and sometimes I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to reset, other than that. Everything is great
