    Love Sony products. They never let me down. Luckily I got mine on sale as I would never pay $2000 or more for any TV but this one was worth every penny. Perfect oled. The proccessor is unmatch by any other brand.

    Sony needs to fix their firmware

    The picture quality, color range, and black depth is unparalleled. Unfortunately, it has firmware issues with HDMI audio pass through that lead to crackling audio. Very frustrating for the cost.

      Thank you for appreciating the exceptional picture quality, vibrant color range, and deep blacks of the Sony BRAVIA 8. It's true, the visual experience is top-notch. However, it's equally important to point out the frustration concerning HDMI audio pass-through and the crackling sound issues you are experiencing.

      If you're experiencing the issue while using an external device or audio system, we recommend verify the physical cable connection between the TV and the device, as well as the device settings. To avoid any issues, please make sure that the HDMI cables you are using are rated for "Premium High Speed" and are at least 18 Gbps (or better). Also, cables can get damaged internally, e.g. when bending in sharp angles.

    A step backwards

    Bought to replace A80J. This TV might be a tiny bit brighter, but is worse in nearly every other way. Can't use Variable audio out from the 3.5mm or the Optical outputs. Now I have to use the stereos remote to change volume instead of the TV remote. The menu system is WAY slower than my A80J. When you click back to resume, the A80J is within 1 second. On the Bravia 8, it the screen goes black and take 4-10 seconds to show a picture. Then, sometimes when it does show the picture of what you are trying to watch, it freezes. Sometimes when you go into the TV settings. They are just blank. You have to exit and come back in once or twice before the menu will show everything. If you have an A80J, K, or L. Don't bother. You won't notice an improvement. It's such a disappointment, I am going to try Panasonic. Returning it immediately.

    HORRIBLY DISAPPOINTED!! While viewing a program through the HDMI-3, the tv will JUMP TO AN OVER THE AIR channel and you will be seeing that program on the screen, BUT the AUDIO will stay on movie or what every you were TRYING to watch. We even paid for extra protection and extended protection plans, and BEST BUY WILL NOT HELP US. the TV was purchased only 4 WEEKS AGO!!!

We understand how frustrating it can be when your viewing experience is interrupted where TV is jumping to an over-the-air channel while audio stays on the HDMI source(movie).

      Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
      Ensure that your TV software is updated as it includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements.

      Performing a power reset or restart on the TV is always recommended first as it can resolve many issues and doesn't affect saved information.
      - Using the supplied remote control: Point the remote control to the illumination LED or status LED and press and hold the POWER button of the remote control for about 5 seconds, or until a message Power off appears.
      - Turn off the TV. Unplug the television power cord (mains lead) from the electrical outlet. Let the television remain without power for 2 minutes. Plug the power cord (mains lead) back into the electrical outlet.

      The HDMI-CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) is a HDMI standard that provides control functions between different A/V devices such as TVs, home theater systems, Blu-ray Disc players, and other HDMI devices. In some cases, a conflicting setting might cause the issue. Try disabling HDMI CEC on your TV and connected device.

    I got this tv ipen box with a 5 year warranty. I would never pay the full price for it, how ever it was just a little over 1100 great tv for that price.

    I found this at my local store as an open-box item. Saveed a good portion of the original cost. Additionally, you can even see where the flaw is behind the Open box condition. A good deal!

    Miscommunication

    The new TV is great. The problems were with the purchase. We were first sold a TV that wasn't available, but it took two weeks and a missed Geek Squad installation appointment for that to be communicated to us. Then, when we finally spent more to get an available TV, the wait time to get it installed was long.

    Audio output issues never fixed

    Despite software updates and troubleshooting, there are still audio output issues. I have a Sony stereo system for audio fed via HDMI from the tv. There is a delay in audio despite changing all options with the output and uding quality cables. I have to switch to TV speakers and back in order to shorten that delay, but there is still minor delay. A new problem just developed after a year where the TV won't default to the saved output anymore as it keeps reverting to the TV speakers. I had hoped for a nice setup with the Sony TV and stereo, but the audio issues make me wish i had returned it. I never had such issues with other brands while using the same stereo system.

      We sincerely apologize that you are experiencing persistent and frustrating audio output issues with your BRAVIA 8 and your Sony stereo system. We understand how disappointing it is when two products from the same brand don't integrate seamlessly, and we regret that this is impacting your overall enjoyment.

      The delay you described, and the new issue where the TV is reverting to internal speakers, sound like classic communication problems between the TV and the audio system (likely related to HDMI eARC/ARC and CEC/BRAVIA Sync).

      To resolve these issues, we highly recommend performing the following detailed troubleshooting sequence:

      1. Perform a Full Power Reset (CEC Handshake):
      - Turn off both the TV and the audio system.
      - Unplug both devices from the wall power, and also disconnect the main HDMI cable connecting them. Wait for 2 minutes.
      - Reconnect the HDMI cable, ensuring it is plugged into the eARC/ARC port on both the TV and the audio system.
      - Plug both devices back into power. Power on the TV first, and wait until it fully boots up, then power on the audio system.

      2. Enable the BRAVIA Sync Device List:
      This ensures the TV is actively scanning and recognizing your connected Sony equipment.

      - Using your Sony remote, navigate to: Settings > Channels & Inputs > External Inputs > BRAVIA Sync Settings > BRAVIA Sync Device List > Enable
