We apologize for the sudden volume changes during commercials and parts of your shows. We understand that can be frustrating. You can try setting the Advanced auto volume to [Auto] and this should keep the volume constant. You can go to settings > display and sound > sound > advanced auto volume > auto.

It's awesome to hear about the great picture and intuitive Google TV interface of the Sony BRAVIA 8 TV. Sorry to learn about the power issues though, those can be frustrating. There are several potential reasons why your TV may be turning on or off unexpectedly. To ensure optimal performance, we strongly recommend downloading and installing the latest software update for your TV. If your TV turns on or off at regular intervals, such as 30 minutes to an hour, it's likely caused by power saving functions such as Idle TV Standby, On Timer, and Sleep Timer. If you haven't yet, follow the steps from the link below to make sure that the TV settings that can turn the TV ON or OFF at certain times or regular intervals are disabled.
