Coming from a TCL TV I had for 5 years that I thought was "good enough" and "all I needed," finally owning one of the best TVs on the market makes me want to kick my earlier self. Everything from the purity of the color to the absolute perfect black levels to the uniformity of the entire picture make the Sony A80K an absolute apex TV. Sure, 4K HDR movies look great on this but this TV elevates even regular cable TV because of the impeccable upscaling work and the image processor that makes it all work. One big motivation for me getting this TV was use with the PlayStation 5, and the A80K absolutely delivers with that, too. On my old TCL the HDR was barely noticeable compared to standard picture, but games just come alive on the Sony. It did take some messing with the settings to unleash all the horses (you have to make HDMI ports 3 or 4 act as HDMI 2.1, as they don't by default) but once they were I saw Sony engineering blend together seamlessly. Also, major props to Best Buy for delivering and professionally mounting my TV. A pro job really ties the entire setting together. I have rarely been so satisfied with a big purchase on all ends. I highly recommend the A80K for anyone looking for an unbelievable TV experience.
