We integrated it into our surround sound set up (Denon receiver) as a center speaker. Works and sounds great! The picture on this tv is amazing. We love the remote as well.

Fantastic TV, Quibbles with the Remote

Fantastic picture, the interface is intuitive and responsive. For those use to the soft picture of an LED TV, it is somewhat jolting (in a good way). The sound is as good as it gets for a TV. While I don't understand why, on my old Sony TV, the sound through my AV system (not a cheap system) was almost unlistenable. Voices were garbled and muddled with the background sound. On this TV it is very clear. I would have thought the eARC was a faithful, unprocessed digital stream, but the difference between this new Sony and my old one is night and day. A pleasant and unexpected surprise. I did have trouble connecting to a hardwired ethernet cable. Not sure what the problem was, but Sony customer service was very helpful and patient in trying to resolve the issue, even to the point of offering to exchange the TV. In desperation, I tried the same thing I tried 3 or 4 times before and it worked. I have noticed that physically disconnecting and reconnecting the ethernet cable is problematic, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I initially chalked this up to issues with the connector, but I tried at 3 different cables that all were working with my old setup and the same cables sometimes work and sometimes doesn't. However once connected I've not had a problem; it does maintain the connection. My biggest criticism is with the remote. I could quibble about the button placement. The mute button is tiny, something use we a lot, There are no page buttons, so scrolling 1 item at a time is tedious. These are design trade-offs, so I understand you can't have every thing. But the real issue is the extreme directionality of the IR. Off axis by 30-45 degrees and it is unresponsive. Contrast this with the XFINITY remote which works in almost any place in the room and pointed in almost any random direction. I am going to try adding an IR blaster, but the XFINITY remote shows this can be done without extra junk.

THIS IS THE GOAT! 2021 TV of the YEAR! I think the XR SOC and the heat sink put this OLED on a different level than anything else sold in N. America! We sat and watched hours of dark movies with HDR fireworks. Just amazing... The only thing I would ding it the price with the a80j over $1200 less at this time you are paying a bit of a tax for the Master Series.

Hands down the best OLED TV I’ve ever had. Over 1000 nits of HDR glory. The most impactful specular highlights I’ve ever seen. Dolby Vision and even regular HDR10 content looks fenomenal. Color volume is near perfect. SDR content looks pretty good too. The new XR cognitive processing works wonders making everything looking more realistic. Motion resolution and motion processing are the best in the business. Gaming on this TV is where it’s at. PlayStation 5 games look amazing on the A90J. The only two things that need improving is the Google TV interface and the available number of HDMI 2.1 ports. Google TV is kinda clunky and it has way too many ads. I’m sure it can be improved with software updates. The set has only two HDMI 2.1 one ports (one is the eARC port), with the other two being HDMI 2.0b ports. That can complicate things a little if you have more than one next-gen device you want to connect to your new set. Other than that the TV is near perfect. It deserves a 5 star rating!

Yeah for a remote that lights up and easy hookup for Bluetooth headsets with no sync issues. Great audio production with using the screen speaker as my center speaker. All in all this TV rocks for all sports and movies especially in 4K.

Beautiful oled wish it could be brighter

It seemed brighter. Now i know there is a max size that oleds can have but i dont think brightness has to do with it

Upgraded from a Sony LED that was 6 years old and wow! I’ve never seen anything like it. I have seen lots of displays that have great contrast but this is incredible, the black is so black! And, it’s ridiculously bright. The new XR processing system is spectacular, absolutely the best motion I’ve ever seen. It also sounds fantastic and has spectacular audio imaging. The UI is way better than my last Sony. Also, the remote is really nice and now controls my xfinity box and my AVR volume.

The picture quality and sound are top notch. It has all the modern connections to help achieve best 4K HDR Dolby vision on the video side and HDMI 2.1 to achieve Dolby Atmos on the audio side. The XR chip is amazing. It is extremely responsive . This tv is costly but you definitely get what you pay for. This flagship television from Sony does not disappoint. I would highly recommend.

Blows my Mind!

I had a 2010 Samsung LED TV before this upgrade and the jump to the A90J is blowing my mind. The brightness on SDR is brighter then the max setting on my old TV. I have six windows in my living room and it is bright during the day and have no issues seeing the TV on standard picture settings. I found Vivid picture settings to even be to bright. On HDR content at night I had to turn the brightness down because it was way to bright and hurting my eyes. I could not imagen having a TV doing 2000nits+ because it would burn your eyeballs out. The A90j is plenty bright during the day for any occasion and I would almost say it can be too bright at night if you want it to get there. The google TV makes it so easy to find shows and content. I have been trying to find a complaint about this TV for the week that I have had it and have not been able to. Great Job Sony!

I upgraded from a 2016 LG 65E6 OLED to the 65A90J. OLED technology has advanced significantly over the past 5 years. The A90J is much brighter, more vibrant and 4K HDR along with 4K dolby vision is significantly better than OLED tech from 5 years ago. The screen is flawless. No banding and no red tint that has plagued OLED over the years, especially the banding.

This replaces a Sony that we have had for seven years, we had always enjoyed the tv but decided to up grade to OLED and believe me this was a good idea. We have yet to watch in 4D, but will be doing that within the next week. We also like the fact that this tv is so slim and the frame is so small, looks like a picture on the wall. We also had the sound bar attached to the tv so it travels with the tv, that was good advice.

One big bonus is being able to use the TV speaker as the center channel in our home theater setup. The clincher for us was how prompt Sony’s technical support was. We had a question about one aspect of the tv. We called Sony, got connected to a tech advisor within a minute and had the issue resolved right then. This is our third Sony TV, and probably the only brand we’ll buy in the future!
