This Sony OLED has been fantastic. Picture is stunning. Just need to watch for screen burn in if you leave one of the cable news channels on all the time.

Great TV, not good for Android TV OS

    Posted .

This is an amazing TV. For inputs, it looks and works great! It is a bit too dark when showing Dolby. The reason for the 3 stars is I feel that the Android aspects of the TV are underwhelming and because the Android OS has advertisements that are unable to be turned off. It seems as if they didn't really add good enough hardware for that. PROS: Android OS is great. Picture is beautiful. 4K UHD looks and works great CONS: * Hardware for Android makes some apps run poorly. * Shows me ADVERTISEMENTS. I pay $4000+ for a TV, I expect not to see ads on the TV itself.

    Almost perfect...

Had the Bravia A1 for a month, loved it, now there is a "dim" 2 inch band up the right side with a single white line 1" from the right edge. Same result with TV input 1, Sony BluRay/Netflix input 2. Will post further information once Sony and Best Buy respond.

    it should be the best

I bought this TV expecting to have the best picture available. And technically it is...the problem is, after I purchased it, Sony did a software update that dims the picture automatically if something on the tv is static...and there is nothing you can do to stop it. At first I thought I had a bad panel. But after doing some research I discovered (too late) what was actually happening. Until Sony fixes this, you shouldn’t come anywhere near this TV. Go with the LG which has the same panel for half the price. It is the most infuriating thing in the world and there is currently nothing we can do to fix it.

I bought this tv in 2018 and it recently died. For the amount of money I spent on this purchase, it is ridiculous for it to only last 5 years

Abitrary dimming of screen ruins the experience

Once downloading the Dolby Vision update, the TV arbitrarily dims while watching and it's very frustrating. I put in a claim to Sony warranty and it was to no avail. I wanted to swap this A1E for an LG C7, but Best Buy wouldn't help either. I'm not a happy buyer...$3500 for a TV that has a fatal flaw. I'm hoping someone at Sony or Best Buy will see this and help me out. For the record, go check the forums on the internet and you'll find that this is a pervasive problem with the A1E.

The TV worked out of the box then lost internet.

The TV worked fine for approximately 90 days then lost the ability to connect to the internet. I have a WiFi connection but could not bring the internet back on. Spoke with Best Buy and they recommended a new modem/router. Replaced the modem/router and same result, replaced the receiver, same result. Researched the internet and find many others have had the same problem. Tried all solutions I could find (the Sony site is terrible) and no fix. Now going on (30) days and approximately $1k in costs and no solution in sight. I would leave this in pieces on the show room floor but my lovely wife has said no. I do not recommend purchasing this product. The price is high but the frustration far exceeds the cost!

Never buy Sony, very poor warranty on products.

I have a defective screen in my new Sony OLED TV. It has a big warped mark right in the middle of the screen that you can clearly see in the photo. Sony said this is from the speaker that is in this area and that if they replaced it I could expect this to happen again. It is vey annoying to watch a TV with a mark the size of your hand in the middle of the screen. We all need to stay away from Companies that do not stand behind their products.

    Bad banding.

Sony replaced one TV for another, which had electrical issues. The TV they replaced it with has bad banding that you see every time there’s a black screen . You of course also see it in certain content . Waiting for Sony to resolve took me out of my 30 day return policy and I’m stuck with the TV with bad banding . I was told by Sony too bad too sad it’s within spec .

    Dark TV

This is the worst Sony Tv I ever owned. You constantly have to play with the settings. Many programs come in dark no matter what you do. The colors are bright and vivid when the program isn't too dark, but when the program changes or a commercial comes on you get get a totally different picture. This TV is way too expensive to have so many problems with picture quality. After reading how Sony doesn't stand by their product I decided to return this TV and for the first time in my life I am considering other brands.
