    Open-box: horrible quality

This is a review about my experience with the open-box. 1 star for Sony, 0 for Bestbuy open-box inspection. The online description only shows non-essential accessories missing. However, both the remote and the stand are missing. Without a remote the TV cannot be operated at all. How can the TV stand and remote be non-essential?? At least it should be clearly noted. The stand from Sony is $260+tax, the remote is $80+tax. Basically you are looking at adding close to $400 to the price for a used TV with >4500 hour screen time.. Well a new one only costs $600 more when discounted. The TV condition is terrible horrible: extremely dirty and cloudy, easily visible in movies, football, and ANY games. Though, the dirty screen effect is hard to capture on a phone. The screen also comes with dead pixels at the very center. I would count them as 5-6 dead pixels. (count the number of red or green subpixels) I drove 2 hours to pick-up this guy. Turned out to be a big disappointment. Returning a 75' TV would be a another big hassle. I'd love this TV if it was in the right condition. Sony made a great TV, as already reviewed by other costumers. I'd blame Bestbuy for quality control/inspection and fake online description.

Hi Bb07, Thank you for purchasing and choosing our Sony X950H. We appreciate your feedback about the TV not having the access to Amazon Music and Twitter. Many of the existing apps from the Google Play store can be downloaded to Android TV. There are several hundred apps already available with a consistent flow of new apps being released for the Android TV platform.

And we regret to hear you're having an issue trying to connect to the Youtube app. Are you getting an error when you're trying to access it? In the meantime, I would recommend you to follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue:

-Make sure your TV is connected to the internet.
-Close the YouTube app, then re-open it and try again.
-Reset your modem/router by removing the power for about one minute, then turn it back on and wait until the connection is established, then try again.
-Make sure that the software version of the Youtube app and the TV is up to date.
-The issue may also be resolved by initializing the YouTube app.
On the supplied remote control, press the HOME button.
      Select Settings.
Under the TV category, select Apps.
      Select YouTube.
Select Clear data, and then OK.
Select Clear cache, and then OK.
      Select Force stop.
Open YouTube from the Home screen.

    Biggest regret! BUYER BEWARE!

Bought it new for $2,000 less than 2 years ago. The processor kept freezing somwe would have to do factory reboot/resets. Then finally the failure of a TV gotten worse by shutting itself off at start up, then I got the bottom red light indicator that flashes 4 times throwing an error code. I called bestbuy and they were of zero assistance, once it gors out of warranty they bascially dont care and say youre out-of-luck. This has been a bad tv from the start, im really shocked with Sony, their quality isnt no where what it used to be, niw they are just selling (lemons) garbage tv’s using their Sony badge to ensure a sale and higher price. I then ordered all new factory circuit boards, being the T-con board, power supply board, main (mother) board, and even internet wifi board. I meticulously replaced all boards. Sure enough the tv was doing the same thing! So it wasnt the boards it was a bad screen ti begin with! Very sad because at that ooint the screen is worth up to 80% of the tv. When that happens the advice is to just buy another new tv! We have a 60” okd vizio from years ago acting as a spare tv and it still works just fine in our living room where our garbage Sony was. I will NEVER buy a Sony TV again! I’ll be better off saving $1000 ans just get a Hisense U8 75” mini LED google TV . What a shame on Sony!!! Buyer beware. If best buy had a heart, they would let me bring in my Sony (XBR-75X950H) that i bought there and allow me to get some money off of the hisesne on a trade-in! Please help me best buy and honor this fair request because i was sold a bad lemon!

I thought buying this Sony-TV from Best Buy would be worth it, assuming that both represent reliable brands, but sadly this has not been the case. As a lot of customer here seem to report, the power went out in less than two years, which is simply pout unacceptable, and neither Sony nor Best Buy take responsibility for their failure and go after it. Shame on you for selling an expensive product that seems to be subject for failure.. At this point, I am considering involving legal steps, maybe customers should combine efforts and initiate a collective lawsuit against Sony. Would not recommend you to buy this TV. Next time, I am going back to LG or similar..

Issues from the beginning and so not worth the money. I had this TV for not even 3 years and now the TV isn't working at all. When i got the TV i noticed there was always an orange light on. Called Geek Squad and they reset the TV. A few days later that orange light came on and stayed on. I was listening to music the other day when the TV went black. I noticed 4 flashing red lights... means an issue internally. Called Sony they said to take it to someone to fix. It was going to be $475.00 the high end. I did but the insurance from Best Buy when i bought the TV, but was told from a manager that is was over 3 months since and the insurance didn't cover the orange light issue. Not worth buying their insurance then!!

I bought the earlier model XBR-75X950G back in August 2019 and after less then two years the TV developed a single black horizontal line about two thirds down from the screen. I was already end of warranty and SONY offered a replacement for the newer XBR-75X950H for a price of course. I thought the SONY brand meant reliability but it appears not.

Please whatever you do-DO NOT BUY ANY SONY BRAVIA tvs. Just check the Sony community website. These are lousy tvs. Our television was over $3k and didn’t even make it barely over a year before we got the blinking red light. Sony of course, was ZERO help because I didnt buy an extended warranty. It wouldn’t matter if I did. Sony told me the nearest authorized repairmen was over 4 hours away (I live in Florida). My neighbor is authorized and he gave me an earful what junk these tvs are. So now I am stuck with a tv that is bricked. I am not alone. This has been going on for years and had I not relied on the Sony brand name only and really looked at the reviews on the Sony website and on consumer affairs, I could have saved $3,000. Please save your hard earned money and buy any other brand.

It was great until it wasn't, which was only 18 months after buying it. It was out of the 1 year Sony warranty, and is now a massive paperweight. It's a known issue with almost all newer Sony TV's. One day it just wouldn't turn on and blinks 4 times. $2500 for 18 months of life shouldn't be acceptable, but the Sony support, while aware of the issue, still sees this as a respectable lifetime of a TV. They directed me to a sony authorized repair service, who diagnosed the issue and can't repair it. From everything else I'm reading on Sony's TV's lately, this is the same treatment plenty of other people are getting who experience this issue. for those who are reading this, avoid sony TVs!

Piece of crap...right out of the box it doesn't power up and there is 4 blink red light. When I search on line it shows that is a defective board or the inverter. Either way, is a defective unit. Sony's quality control is horrible and this is probably why Samsung and LG took over the TV market. Us companies like Motorola used to test every unit before it shipped out and that is quality. A 75" TV is heavy and very expensive unit to allow it to go untested...very bad enduser experience. To make matters worst, now I have to waste more time by returning it to Bestbuy...i tried to see if they bring a replacement and take the bad unit, and the person in the chat says no. Realy disappointed at bestbuy as well....am I supposed to keep returning a unit and bring another until I find one that works? I want my money back.

      Hi MrReviewer,

Thank you for choosing and purchasing our X950H Ultra HD Smart TV. This is definitely not the news that we would like to hear. Please allow us to help you and turn this into a better experience. Follow these steps on how to isolate the issue.

When the standby indicator blinks in red.

Turn off the TV. Disconnect all devices (such as an external USB hard disk drive and HDMI connection device) from the TV.
Turn on the TV, then make sure that the indicator does not blink (which means the TV has no issues).
Connect the disconnected devices one by one to the TV. If the indicator starts blinking after a certain device is connected, check the device for an issue.
When the standby indicator turns off.

Make sure that the power cord and AC adapter are not disconnected or loose.
Press the power switch of the TV to see if the TV turns on.
Reset the TV to factory specifications. For reset steps, refer to the link below.

I have had this TV for 16 months and it was great. Loved it! Then all of a sudden the TV wouldn't turn on. Best Buy said "Sorry" its out of your return window and Sony said "Sorry" your warranty expired after a year. After three repair companies came to offer their solution, all three said the TV is worthless due to the lack of power board and backlight boards available to fix them. $2500 down the drain. If you buy this TV make sure you get the extended warranty.

I bought this tv thinking it was a great deal because it was a sony. After only 5 months the color started to mess up such as red faces, dingy colors, etc. After continuously making adjustments, color, hue, brightness, etc. The tv would not stay on custom and kept backing up to vivid which caused the problem of making the stations look more like analog instead of UHD. I would not buy this tv again and now am cautious about any future purchases from sony.

Absolute garbage TV. PQ was horrible, worse than my 4 year old TCL. Pixelated and grainy on every platform. What made it even worse was that Best Buy washed their hands of the issue and turned me to Sony which was, if possible, even more useless. The light bleed on this TV is absolutely horrible! It started getting bad of course about a month after the warranty ran out and Sony won't do anything about it. DO NOT BUY THIS TV! You will regret it.
