For a starter camera is so far ahead of the rest. Canon user for more than thirty years can't imagine going back. Adjust settings before that shot is taken.

It's simple and was easy to figure out how to do. I am learning how to use a digital SLR but so far I am happy with my photos.

I pretty much take it everywhere. I got a screen protector made for it, so I really don't worry about it being out when I'm in a crowd.

Please be warned that the account connectivity, documentation, and any other access to the Sony support web page is a train wreck and not ready for the camera's release

Auto mode is great, but manual mode gives you room to grow with the camera.

I bought this model as I'm taking a photography course that requires learning some camera technique. The more familiar I become, the easier it gets, the more I like it. The only thing I don't care for is the lens cap has no string that attaches to the camera.
