I would highly recommend this camera for someone looking for near dslr quality without actually having to lug around a dslr

After a very long search for the perfect point and shoot camera, I have landed on this one and I never had any regrets! It’s very compact and very good for traveling. The pictures are great and the videos as well. I love that you can take slow motion videos with this. This is on the pricey side but definitely worth it.

I really wanted a camera that was as close to a DSLR as possible while staying a relatively small size. I am still relatively new to cameras and all the features and I find this camera very easy to navigate. I have used this primarily for vloging on my Youtube channel. Super easy to use. Very fast focus. Can take lots of pics and not worry about focus slow down

Bought this camera for the low light capabilities and the electronic viewfinder (separate purchase). It is fantastic in low light. I absolutely love it. The electronic viewfinder is excellent for daytime shots when you can't see the display on the back of the camera. It has been difficult for me to use point and shoots for this reason (if there is a lot of sunshine I can't see the display.) That is totally resolved with the electronic viewfinder. I have used this up to an iso of 6400 and have been happy with the results using Photoshop and noise minimizing software. There is always noise at high iso's but using the noise minimizing software the shots look great. I have not been able to push a previous camera above an iso of 1600 before getting grainy results. This camera fits my needs and would definitely purchase again. It is larger than your normal point and shoot so be aware of that but if you want great low light shots it performs fantastically.

Small, low profile, extremely sharp in low light, stunning detail and colors, built well... What more could you ask for? I love this camera and I have several Leicas like x2, X Vario, digilux3. This lil camera makes me want to leave Leica and get the newest A7.

I am mainly a film photographer so appreciate simplicity in cameras as the tool you are using should not get in the way of your work. I do still shoot some digital and bought this camera as a light and small carry alternative to a larger full frame digital Leica I have been using for years. What I like about the RX100V: Very fast and accurate AF, exceptional image considering sensor size, versatile viewing screen plus popup viewfinder, size, available lens lengths and lens speed. What I do not like: Very unintuitive interface and menu system. I like to have control at times when using this camera even though I bought it mainly as a nice point and shoot - however when I do want control the poor interface gets in the way. If this was my one and only camera I am sure it would become second nature in time, but having used both Leica and Nikon digital before I retired from the photography profession, I know you can still have a wide range of capabilities with an intuitive interface. Also why the weird RAW file???? It does not work with PS 6 on my Mac, had to find and use a ARW to DNG convertor. Not worth my time so just shoot JPG with this thing now.

I Broke my Canon G7x that was under a Best Buy Oops protection contract. Long story short - they were all gone, so I got the RX100 V5 instead. The point and click quality is astounding. The advanced photography is amazing. and the cool new tech is spectacular. I am a Sony A7ii owner. This camera takes shots indecipherable. I absolutely love it. Buy the Geek Squad contract though. Sony Service Totally sucks. But Best Buy's does not. Also, Sony documentation sucks nearly as bad as their service. So, get an aftermarket book. the sunset shot had minimal doctoring.

I use this camera for vlogs on my YouTube channel. The quality in video is great, and the audio is decent when the ambient noise isn't too much. The only issue I've had with it so far is that it cannot record 4k video for longer than a few minutes - that's when it overheats. The 960fps high frame rate stuff is great!

This is a remarkable small camera. It does so many things so well that it is just remarkable. This is an easy to hold and easy to use camera with more features than you can imagine. This speed and quality of focusing is astounding, only exceeded by its capacity to shoot multiple images in rapid succession - unbelievable 24 f/sec and, yes, it really works. Eye piece view finder is easy to use. The zoom is terrific but it would be nice to have a bit more zoom,. And, this camera does so much more. Extra batteries are helpful is you are taking a lot of shots or any video. Good idea to get a case. Best small camera I ever had. Even better than the professional reviews I read. Not cheap but worth it for quick point and shoot as well as some technical photography when you don't want or need to carry a big camera.

This little camera is a great small high quality camera with awesome ability to do slow motion video. Still uncovering all its features but it’s pricey but a really compact way to got all that’s in a larger DSLR

Don't get me wrong, this is a great little point and shoot camera, it just wasn't as good as I was hoping. After reading all of the reviews and hype surrounding this camera my expectations were too high. Upon comparing side by side images to my full frame Sony mirrorless cameras, the lack of clarity and increase in chromatic aberration was extremely obvious. Many people probably wouldn't notice but as an advanced hobbyist who already owns good equipment, this left me wanting. I ended up trading in in on an iPhone X and I'm happy I did. The iPhone's camera is VERY GOOD. The sensor and glass are not as good as this Sony but the trade-off of having it in my pocket all the time, plus the availability of built in editing features, is well worth its limitations in my opinion. Is summary, this is probably the best point and shoot camera on the market, just have reasonable expectations.

I love everything about the Mock 5. The portability and durability just touches the surface. The quality of the pictures are amazing as well the speed in which I can take photos.

I love the quality of my DSLR but I often leave it at home because it is too large. This lives up to the quality of produced pictures from my DSLR but this can fit in my pocket!

Excellent small camera that takes breath taking pictures. Quality components, easy to use and very compact. Pricey but worth it!
