Amazing Lens

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Leaving this review for those who's on the fence between FE 50mm F1.2 vs F1.4. It's a great lens, lighter, more affordable and practical. While I use it mostly for portrait photography, others could find it an awesome fit for videography with extra ergonomics provided. My personal take: if you are not shooting in F1.2 most of the time (99%), F1.4 is just common sense. I couldn't find one-to-one detailed tech comparison from dxomark but otherwise subjectively lens performs as good as other Sony prime lenses that I own. Shooting with Sony a7rV.

Beautiful Lens — Sharp, Fast, and Perfect for Port

The Sony 50mm f/1.4 GM delivers amazing sharpness, smooth bokeh, and lightning-fast autofocus. Colors are rich and natural, and it performs flawlessly even in low light. It’s compact compared to other fast primes, which makes it great for both photo and video work. Easily one of the best 50mm lenses Sony has ever made.

G Master Lenses are priceless

Awesome travel lens from Sony

This Sony 50mm 1.4 lens is lighter and as sharp as it predecessor 50mm 1.8 one and saves some bucks too. Overall , this lens is sharp as any GM lenses and as good for videography as well.

Amazing lens for EVERYTHING. Videos/pics night/day

It does not matter whatever content you are creating. Rather you are a videographer or a photographer, this lens can do it all. It handles nighttime and day time with ease. I was on the fence about purchasing due to the hefty price, i was not disappointed. The only reason for the 4 starts and not the 5 stars is because of the price. Anyway, if you got the money, this is the lens to purchase.

Lighter, smaller form factor, super sharp, fast accurate focus. This is a no brainer if you are in the 50mm market. I had the Zeiss offering and sold it once I bought this one, pairs so well with 35mm and 24mm gm’s.

New sony user from Canon. Good lens

I would say it is good. I like a focus on canon better but the lens is overall pretty good and images came out great. I used it with A7R5.

This 50mm lens, especially this G-Master series, it is an absolute amazing purchase. I say this because of multiple reason; 1 because of its low light capabilities, 2 because of its shallow depth of field… super bokeh, and 3 because of the amazing quality it produces. For the price, you can not go wrong, and you will not regret this lens. 10/10 for both video and photo.
