The product is cool but it seems to have problems staying connected to the internet and is WiFi only sadly

My kids love this thing and play all the time, its great for road trips.

The portal is great. I love that I can take it virtually anywhere and it will work. It is best to add to your PS5 hardwired to your internet for best results.

It keeps getting better and better. Every update from Sony adds new life to this thing. Honestly its such a simple concept but it works so well. 10/10 (granted you need to have a reliable internet connection.)

Excellent little device. Love having the ability to play my games remotely and even away from home! A huge update has made this even better. With a PlayStation Premium account you can stream cloud gaming!

Many people were concerned that it wouldn’t be as good as old PSP or Ps Vita, but I assure you that in modern times, it is perfect for gamer’s needs! We have WiFi almost everywhere, and it allows to use advantage of it to play games even when you are far-far away from your PS5

I didn’t know if I’d use this often or if it would sit on the shelf, but it’s actually so comfortable to game on that I use it frequently. If the family is wanting to watch Dora or some other show I don’t like, I can hop on this and still interact with them when they want.

Definitely better than using phone controller like backbone one. The controls and ergonomic is pretty much identical to holding dualsense controller. I am using ax 3000 router with 300mbps spectrum connection, I barely notice any frame drops at all. BUT, i wish it was an OLED screen though, come on sony!

Great handheld device. Love the ease of connection and playing my games without having to tie up the tv the battery last a long time. As long as you have a great internet connection there isnt any lag to it and it runs very smooth. So happy that I made the purchase. As i use it more than my actual ps5 now.

The Portal works good for what I need it. Having 2 kids and not an extra TV to be able to play some games and having this makes it easier for me to play my games and my kids to watch their movies.

Was sceptical at first but after purchase I was immediately wondering over with this purchase

It was a very good product but the reason I rate it a 4 star was because I couldn’t connect my 5G hotspot to it so it was only useable in house WIFI and not hotspot. And it also turned your PS5 on when you are not there. So overall I do not know if it was that only problem with that particular PS portal or my hotspot

This is an interesting concept, but one that doesn’t seem like was taken to the point of perfection. There are a lot of hiccups with this system. After you get it set up (a time-consuming process considering the updates you have to do), you then have to know to go in to your PS5 and turn on “allow remote play” and “stay connected to the internet” in order for this to work. There’s really no directions for all of this—I had to Google troubleshooting measures to figure this out. Once you finally get it all set up, things work OK most of the time. However, every so often, the picture will momentarily scramble and freeze, and if you’re at a critical point in your game, it can really mess up your gameplay. I have the highest speed internet my cable system offers, so it’s not a problem with my connection. It just sort of feels like this went to market when it was “almost” ready for release. When it’s working, it works well, but If these freeze-ups are causing me lives in my game, I’d rather just wait and play on my PS5 and large monitor.

PlayStation Portal has been a great accessory to my PS5 and has worked better than I expected. I was a little wary of streaming from my console, but I haven’t had any issues. It’s great to be able to play in bed or in another room if my main tv is being used by someone else. I haven’t had a chance to try it away from home using my phone hot spot, but I understand it also should work great that way.
