The best thing PlayStation has come out with!! Love the feeling of sitting on the couch and being comfortable and relaxed using it without having to sit in a chair in front of a screen!

Overall, the Portal is great. It takes some tweaking of your PS5 for optimum running, which isn't ideal if you are traveling when you discover the connection is unstable. The cloud gaming access makes this a solid handheld option for PS5 gamers. The open box unit was definitely worth purchasing.

I purchased this to play from the comfort of my bed when I don’t wanna be sitting next to my TV screen. So long as you have a strong Internet connection you will have no issues with game drops or graphics dropping resolution. If you are using this at home, you can use your Bluetooth gaming headset since they are connected to the PlayStation five. You can take this with you and use it with your hotspot but just know that I timed my hotspot data usage with this and saw that in 45 minutes of playing call of duty I burned through 5 GB of hotspot. You cannot use any Bluetooth device with this if you’re outside of the home however it does have the earphone jack and most gaming headsets have a headphone auxiliary connection. Do not listen to false reviews of people who do not own one. Those reviews are just speculation and assumptions. you can take this out of the house. The only thing you need to do is have the PlayStation on rest mode at all times otherwise you will not be able to turn it on remotely if your PlayStation is completely turned off which is OK with me since I like to leave it on rest mode at all times to download any updates that are available. Overall, I believe this is a good handheld device. If you do not want to be sitting in front of your TV screen or want to go anywhere outside of your home that has a solid Wi-Fi connection. This will work for you. If your phone plan has a lot of gigabytes of data for hotspot it will work for you too. I like this device a lot when setting it up I was a bit scared as the resolution looked pretty bad, but took a few minutes to go from 420 to 1080 P during initial set up. i never had any issues since. Trust me just purchase one you want regret it at 200 bucks this is a gaming device.

The portal is great. My only complaint is for when the wireless has a hard time keeping the connection. Not that this is a problem on the divices side but its the only negative ive run into.

This product was a great idea, relatively compact, high-quality, awesome display. I even loved the fact that it was based on the dual sense controller, but that is where the good news ends. Activity on this device is poor at best. I have 500mb Internet in my home. I sat on my couch, 5 feet from the Wi-Fi router and about 8 feet from the PS5, which was hardwired to the router and the lag made gameplay unbearable. It was even worse when traveling. I would leave in my PS5 turned on and connected to the Internet. And then try to connect from a remote location with equally fast Internet, and the device would barely connect much less be playable. I sincerely hope that Sony can’t get these connection issues worked out because this will be a great alternative to lugging my PlayStation around with me when I travel for work. All of this said, I must go back to the beginning and say that the build quality is exceptional, feels great in hand with a stunning display. Just needs better, connectivity and better support on the PlayStation network.

As a father that constantly has to let my kids use my tv or follow them around the house to make sure they’re safe. This remote player is amazing, so addicting , I don’t even care to play on my tv anymore. I take this thing with me to work, family gatherings and even to ER visits

Bought one for my son to use around the house AKA in the restroom or sitting in the livingroom. His worked as intended. I decided to buy one for myself and take to work to mess with during downtime. I was worried about internet connection, lag and overall functionality of the device. I left my PS5 on rest mode got to work and at lunch linked the PSP to the internet and it only took a few seconds to connect. Now, the wifi at my work sucks but the games played flawlessly with no delays, lags, pixelization or disconnects. I played the downloaded ninja turtles collection from the monthly games for about 10 min and I played Star Wars Outlaws for about 20 min. No problems as of right now. Im guessing that for others that had trouble it was user error because i was ready to return mine if it didnt work as intended but it did work so i will keep this in my desk for when ive got downtime and or just need something to distract me. I will update if i have problems down the road.

Great Device if You Have Family/Kids

I believe this device works perfectly for someone who has family/kids. Personally for me, I can't be in my gaming room all day when I have a wife & a kid. My wife & I co sleep with our son and it would be selfish of me to go to my gaming room everynight while my wife is stuck in bed with our son. There are times where my wife want's times for herself which mean I'll be putting my son to sleep instead of her. Now, there are a lot of people bashing on this device because you can already remote play with your phone/tablet and I've been doing that with my phone using the Backbone. Here are two things that I like about this PlayStation Portal over using a Backbone. 1) The screen size is bigger. My phone is only 6.3" so having that 8 inch is a plus for me. I personally don't care that the screen is an LCD that doesn't bother me at all. 2) Being able to use a Duelsense controller with all the heptic feed back is a plus. You don't get that feeling using a Backbone and to be honest. My hands gets fatigue afte about an house using a Backbone where else I don't get that using the Playstation Portal. Yes! you can connect your Duelsense to a tablet and get a bigger display than the PlayStation Portal, but you have to place your tablet on a table. You can't lay in bed with a tablet while using your Duelsense which is where this PlayStation Portal shines to me. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A FAMILY/KIDS THAN THIS DEVICE ISN'T FOR YOU. NO REASON WHY YOU WOULD WANT IT UNLESS YOU WANT TO.

Now that you can stream playStation games without the need of a PlayStation, this handheld opens up an entire world of Gaming. The ergonomics are great and the screen is vivid and bright. I would definitely recommend this if you have a PlayStation account.

Awesome way to game while my kids are using the TV! No doubt takes credit for finishing my first game of the year. Open box seriously seemed brand new. Was amazed by the new update allowing cloud streaming for PS+ Premium member
