I wanted a more current video program for use on my Windows 10 computer. I also wanted ability to not only work with normal DVD format but also HD and Blue Ray in future. This one thus far has been working fine. Sony also has a much more expensive PRO version but frankly I can't see the point for 99% of what most people want out of this type of a program. It has plenty of options for output and format and seems to be fairly intuitive. I decided to get the Sony version since I also have the Sony version of audio studio software that I use for editing my and others music performances (I play an instrument professionally). I figured that they would both be similar in operation and user interface to make them easier to learn...and that proved to be so. I can't speak to similar programs from other companies as I am only familiar with and have used three brands but with several years older versions. But the Sony version definitely appears to be current with others feature and user interface wise. I only reserve the last star because nothing is perfect and I am sure I will find some area that could be improved in the future...but for now it meets my needs.

Only reason it gets 4 stars is because it is hard to use, but once learned it's great! Lots of YouTube videos out there for help if needed!!! For the money you can't beat it

The effects and options are simple enough for those that have little to no experience with video editing. The results are awesome. The audio input options are fantastic. It's a one stop program for all my needs

This software is awsome. I searched hi and low, spent money on others only to be disappointed with the product. I needed something that could be easy for a beginner and handle 4K video with ease. FINALLY I tried the free trial of Sony Movie Studio Platinum. I was blown away with how easy it handled my 4K video and how easy it was to manipulate. In the end I produced a movie worth watching. It was quickly uploaded to YouTube so I could easily share it with friends and family. Once again that was accomplished easily with this software. Don't waste time and money like I did . If your a beginner looking to make professional looking edits to your 4K video without spending hundreds...........GET SONY MOVIE STUDIO PLATINUM.

Needed a a video editing program for windows. This is not as big as Sony Vegas but for $20 it’s worth the basic features to get started.

I found the basic components of the software pretty easy to use as a beginner but even with the pop-up window tutorials I found myself having to go online to find example videos of how to do more advanced things.

I've used Sony Movie Studio (and Vegas products) for years. Bought this one for another computer. Simple to use, dependable results.

I have bought Sony vegas studio in the past. I think Sony movie studio is easy to use for beginners. It has what you need to make YouTube videos or make nice home videos. Only thing that I don't like is that Sony has no instructions or video tutorials on using the program. YouTube however does have some

Sony makes a fine product, one of the easiest to use video editing software products on the market. It's now owned by Magix and I don't know how that will turn out but this version works well. It sends your movie to DVD architect which allows you to make a DVD or you can save it to a streaming format for YouTube or the like. If you've never used it, watch an online tutorial and you should be on your way in no time at all.

Bought this to upgrade the version that I have. This one is easier to use.

I haven't used it much yet but it seems very intuitive the little I've have. It loaded right up with no problems and will do all i need and more.

This version works well, as did the earlier version that I have used.

This program is solid for any skill level. The program offers a wide range of features for even the hard core film editor. Easy to use and flim projects come out great. Recommended for anybody

I needed make a movie of our dance recital. It worked great! I love that we can choose our chapters. It makes it easier for our students to easily find their dance routines.

I can't wait to use this camera with streaming games online.

I was looking for something that was like Windows moviemaker since that program was easy. When I purchased a new laptop I was unable to use moviemaker with Windows 10. I just started using and I gave it 4 stars because in some ways it has more options then moviemaker and in other ways not as much. There is a tutorial that seemed to make it easy but when I am trying to do some editing it seems more complicated. Probably just me and I am hoping it will get easier the more I use the program.

NICE PROGRAM, NOT TO HARD TO UNDERSTAND, MANY EXTRAS

yes $60 is cheaper than Sony Vegas but this one has issues when I bought it, it was like god gave me a present it can render 4k videos I was able to publish 1-6 videos a day rendering at 1080p depending on file size of coarse. but then it's issues are because it was most likely pushed out the door by Sony I can no longer use this on my desktop but I had to re-install it several times to make sure before I put it on my laptop. so in short if you buy this be careful it does have issues
