These things are so, so quiet. There's no depth to them at all whatsoever. I got them just to monitor the sound coming out of my keyboard and even for just that they were pretty insufferable.

They sound good. The only downer to these phones is that the battery cover is not secure and pops off. Tape is needed as to not lose it.

After using the headphones only a few times the wire at the connection area (where it V's) has exposed wires. We live 2 hours from a Best Buy, so returning them is not convenient. They still work, but they are obviously not good quality.

Bought these 2 years ago, had to exchange it for a new one a few weeks after because a piece of the headphone fell off! Recently, the whole left earpiece cushion fell off -- poor gluing, I guess. Won't be buying another one.

This is my second pair of Sony headphones, although my first pair didn't have the noise cancellation feature. These were a present for my wife who works in a noisy office. She loved mine so much but she needed noise cancelling for those coworkers that use speaker phone. The sound quality on these are amazing for the price. I compared them at Best Buy and only the Bose sounded better. The beats brand had too much bass,(this coming from a bass player) the mids are muddy and the highs nearly nonexistent. Same with Skull Candy. JBL had improvement in the mids and highs, but weak on the bass. The only negative I can say is because they are not cup earphones that cover your ears, the noise cancellation is minimal when the music isn't playing. But otherwise Sony blows any of the popular brands away in sound quality, unless you have $300 more to spend on Bose. I use my headphones mostly to learn new bass parts, where sound quality is key. For the low price, the sound quality is phenomenal, nice long cord, well built, lightweight, and will take a lot of abuse. I've dropped them, dropped my bass case on them, and had them ripped off my head (reaching for coffee during practice) and they still look like new. I've even used them for DJ work and as a personal monitor during band practice. Don't waste your money on more expensive and less impressive headphones. These are the standard other headphones wish they could attain under $100.

    Great for blocking out noise

I bought these to replace my sony pulse gaming headset that I use at work. I’d say the price is fair, the headphones itself is pretty lightweight and they are comfortable on your ears. I have huge ears so the speaker cups go on top of my ears but they are still comfy even after a couple or a few hours of it sitting on my head. With the noise-cancelling feature turned off, the sound is still very good, it just lacks the proper amount of bass. With the feature turned on, you sort of get a feeling of surround sound in your ears and just the right amount of bass to really bring out the best of what you’re listening to or watching. The only thing I dislike about this product is that you will need Triple-A batteries in order to use the noise-cancelling feature :(. Lastly, these headphones definitely block out noise if you have the feature turned on and the volume up loud enough. Overall, it’s a great pair of headphones and it’s not very expensive like dre beats. If you’re looking for something simple and much cheaper to please your noise-cancelling needs, this is the one for you.

Great Sound, Good Noise Canceling, Short Cord

The sound on these headphones is great with good bass response. They are comfortable on my ears and don't seem to make my ears as uncomfortably warm as my Panasonic set. The noise canceling is good too and reduces most (not all) of the outside noise. Listening to this set with the power on though makes sound with the power switch off disappointing but it's good that it has the option and according to the marketing a AAA battery can last for 80hrs. It only takes one AAA battery and comes with one in the box so that's nice too. The gauge on the cord though is thin and the length is short so I'm not sure how long this will last but there is a 1yr warranty.

pretty good headphones-gets the job done

I bought these headphones for the sole purpose of using them for flying. They were used on several flights and in the car. It does a good job of keeping the outside noise to a minimum. It does not completely cancel out the noise. On the plane, I sat behind the engine next to the window. I was impressed and happy I bought the headphones because it did make my flights more enjoyable. I even turned the music off and just had the headphones on with the noise reduction feature on and was able to take a nap. However, after a few hours of having them on (I flew across the country-coast to coast), your ears do start to hurt. As far as the sound goes, it's not the best, but it gets the job done. The bass is there, but it's not the best. But like I said, I am happy I bought it. It worked well and served its purpose. I'm not a music producer trying to compose each song, so I don't need studio quality sound. It has a "mic" but it does not work for phone calls. You cannot make or take phone calls with the headphones. They do require AAA batteries, but it does come with batteries. The batteries are for the noise reduction. You can still use the headphones without the noise reduction feature.

The Sony Noise-Canceling Wired On-Ear Headphones are a powerful audio accessory that combines immersive sound quality with effective noise cancellation technology. As a user of these headphones in sleek black, I have thoroughly enjoyed the audio experience they deliver. Here's my review. Design-wise, the Sony Noise-Canceling Wired On-Ear Headphones exude a sleek and modern aesthetic. The black color adds a touch of elegance, while the compact and foldable design makes them highly portable and travel-friendly. The build quality is sturdy, and the adjustable headband ensures a comfortable fit for extended listening sessions. The sound quality of these headphones is truly remarkable. The 30mm dynamic drivers deliver rich, well-balanced audio across the entire frequency range. The bass is punchy and satisfying without overpowering the other frequencies, while the midrange and treble are crisp and clear, allowing for an immersive and enjoyable listening experience. One of the standout features of these headphones is the noise cancellation technology. The active noise cancellation effectively blocks out external sounds, creating a serene and distraction-free environment. Whether you're on a noisy commute or in a bustling office, the noise cancellation feature allows you to fully immerse yourself in your music or audio content. The wired connectivity of these headphones ensures a reliable and uninterrupted audio experience. The included detachable cable is of good quality and provides a secure connection to your audio source. The wired connection also eliminates concerns about battery life or potential signal interference, making them a reliable choice for long listening sessions. Comfort is another area where the Sony Noise-Canceling On-Ear Headphones excel. The plush ear cushions and adjustable headband provide a comfortable fit, even during extended periods of use. The on-ear design is well-suited for those who prefer headphones that do not fully cover the ears, and the lightweight construction further enhances comfort. Additionally, these headphones come with a built-in microphone, allowing you to easily take calls or participate in voice chats without having to remove the headphones. The microphone quality is decent, ensuring clear communication with minimal background noise. While the Sony Noise-Canceling On-Ear Headphones offer an exceptional audio experience, it's important to note that the noise cancellation is not as powerful as that of some high-end over-ear models. While it effectively reduces external noise, it may not completely eliminate louder or more intrusive sounds. However, considering their on-ear design and price point, the noise cancellation performance is commendable. In summary, the Sony Noise-Canceling Wired On-Ear Headphones are a fantastic choice for those seeking an immersive audio experience and effective noise cancellation. With their sleek design, impressive sound quality, and comfortable fit, they provide an excellent value for the price. Whether you're a music enthusiast, a frequent traveler, or someone who values high-quality audio, these headphones deliver pure audio bliss and a truly enjoyable listening journey.

Great sound and comfortable ear muff. I haven't put it to the real test yet, which is airplane time. The salesman assured me he and his wife use these to fly to Brazil with great results, so I purchased them. Wired headphones are hard to find, and these were a great price. I'm saving my last star for post travel, but I like them a lot so far.
