This remote works great if you just want to use the media feature of the PS5. It uses standard alkaline batteries so no worry of remote running out of charge.

When you want to use the PS as an entertainment system, this is perfect for those less than tech savvy.

Do yourself a favor if you watch a lot of TV in bed before going to sleep and buy this controller.

This is a simple and functional remote that is easy to sync with the PS5 and it works. The part I didn’t like is it slippery in hand, felt awkward to hold and after the Amazon Fire remote the direction buttons being all separate was difficult to navigate in dark or when you’re not looking at it. I wished Sony didn’t try too hard to stick with the futuristic theme and focus on the ease of use. I had this similar problem with their PlayStation headset.

Surprisingly this is way more essential than I originally thought. I grabbed one only because it was in stock but now I can’t imagine not having one. If you stream media on your ps5 definitely get one.

Battery life not the greatest but the seamless integration with the ps5 ui makes up for it

It's great to be able to navigate the PS5 while the controllers stay charged when you're not playing games. The remote makes it really easy to open spotify and play/pause your music no matter what screen you're on.

Bought this when I got my PS5. My wife uses the PS5 as a streaming platform, but doesn’t game. This makes it easy for her to navigate to her favorite shows.

awesome Sony item for use with tv! its nice to able too use this instead of the controller

Easy to set-up and use. I own a Sony UHD and is easier to use the remote for the app functions than having to grab a controller from the charging station. Would recommend if you plan to use the apps extensively, but the remote is not a must have accessory.

I use Disney plus and Netflix. The fast buttons is what sold me. My wife who thought it was a waste of money says she likes the remote. Win win for me worth the purchase of you plan to use for streaming movies.
