I got this product as part of a special bundle with my ps4. It's currently at a $40 price point which I think is fair for this product. It's nice being able to play the classic games I used to play when I was a kid. It's also nice taking this with me when I travel for work and being able to play in hotel rooms. It's so compact that you can take it anywhere when traveling. Definitely a great alternative for wanting to play games on the road but you don't feel like lugging around a ps4 or Xbox with you. The memory card is pretty expensive and a lot of games you can play on the vita aren't compatible with the ps tv unfortunately. Most of the classics are though and it's not bad for the price point

The PS TV is essentially a PlayStation Vita that can be connected to your HDTV. Design wise, it's very small and portable You can easily carry it to a friend's or relative house in your pocket considering it's about the size of a modern day smartphone, just a little fatter. Do note that the console only supports 720p/1080i max. It really should be 1080p in this day and age. If you bought this so it can be your streaming box for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Instant Video, etc - you're going to be disappointed. As of right now, a lot of these apps are not yet compatible with the PS TV. Supposedly a patch is being worked on so that they can be made compatible, but you'll have to watch and see. DLNA media server implementation will come in the future through an app. Gaming wise, you can play most Vita, PSP, and PSOne games. You want to check the list for compatible games on this site: https://support.us.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5376/~/games-compatible-with-playstation-tv However considering the Vita hardware is inside the PS TV, you would think all Vita games will be compatible. Still, playing some Vita games on your TV is really nice such as Muramasa or Final Fantasy Dissidia. I should note that PlayStation Now is also supported if you're into that game streaming idea. Right now, I wouldn't recommend the product too much because a lot of features are still missing and need to be patched in. However if there are some Vita/PSP games you want to play on a TV or with a DualShock controller (it supports DualShock 3 and 4) then go for it.

I bought it so i can leave my ps4 in my bedroom while being able to remote play in the living room. I have both of them wired with ethernet cable so the delay is very minimal. also its a great device to play some vita games that i have been eyeing without having to shell out the money for a vita or to play the vita games that comes with ps plus. You would have to buy those stupid sony vita memory cards if you want to play persona 4 or 75% of the vita library because this bundle didnt include a memory card and the 1gb of onboard storage was not enough.

I have PS4 in my living room and wanted to use this to play PS4 in the bedroom. I found this device easy to use (it's amazing how small it is) and set up. It is just like a PS Vita (if you don't have a PS Vita, no worries it's dead simple to navigate). But the issue is lag. My PS4 is connected to internet via ethernet, but Vita is via Wi-Fi. While packaging states you get best connection by connecting both units to ethernet, that just doesn't seem feasible. Depending on the game, the lag is playable, but others it makes them not playable.

The device does work, I was able to play my PS4 remotely on another TV using both a LAN connection and my electric outlet internet adapter. Do not attempt to use on WIFI will be painfully slow. Not all Vita Games are compatible, and they don't look that good on the tv screen due to the resolution. The memory card is expensive so watch out.

System works relatively well with the remote play function on the PS4, considering there's a slight lag between input and what's onscreen. Playing compatible Vita games works really well, but really impressed that I can play those old PS1 games I've purchased digitally from the PSN store. That makes this an even better device than I thought it to be.

The Playstation TV 'console' does exactly what it sets out to do... basically it's a Playstation Vita without a screen and without a controller, hence why this is much cheaper. I don't love the idea behind the device - the beauty behind the VITA is its portability. If I'm sitting in front of a big TV, wouldn't I just play my PS4 or PS3 instead? But still, I got this at $40 which I feel like is a fair price and I'd recommend it, especially to PS+ members who have been building up a 'free' library of Vita games but don't want to pay the hefty price of the actual VITA hardware. It also seconds as a remote play device for your PS4. While this doesn't apply to me, I assume many families that share the PS4's TV would benefit to allow the PS4 to be played on another screen without moving the whole PS4 console. Remote play isn't perfect but it's capable, especially if you have a solid Internet wifi connection.

This is essentially a PS Vita without a screen that hooks to your TV. It should've kept the original Japanese name, Vita TV. There is a slot for Vita games and a Vita memory card. Pair your Dualshock 3 or 4 controller to the 'console' and you are playing vita games on a screen much larger than that on an actual Vita. Pretty neat.

The PlayStation TV is nice for playing your games on the PS3 and, in my case, the PS4 remotely. However, I was a bit disappointed in the .5-1 second lag while playing (Destiny). I didn't get a chance to test out anything else as I only bought it for remote play (PS4 upstairs and PSTV downstairs). So keep that in mind when purchasing for remote play. Both my PS4 and PSTV are wired for network play but it could be the distance in the house from each other. Not sure as I'm no expert in that field. I managed to snag mine for $19.99 so I really can't say anything else bad about it. Hope this helps you out if you are thinking of purchasing this.

Will play some PS Vita Games, compatibility limited. Pros: -Cheap -Plays some PSone Classics, PSP, and Vita games from PSN -PS+ Free Games -Lightweight and portable Cons: -Not all Vita games work (look for compatibility guide) -Requires expensive Vita memory card for any real downloadable games (on-board storage is about 1 GB) -Some multimedia apps not supported at the moment, like Netflix

Pros: It's KIND OF a PlayStation Vita (sans control input, screen, and touch screen functionality, the latter being the biggest issue) for a lot less money. It's relatively small. HDMI cable is included, although it almost has to be since that's the only video/audio output. Can be used to remotely stream games from a PlayStation 4 on the same network. Cons: Some of the best, Vita-exclusive games (Tearaway, Gravity Rush, etc.) cannot be played on it. Expensive, proprietary memory cards. Missing some popular streaming apps (Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.). Max resolution is 720p or 1080i. No surround sound, Dolby Digital, or DTS output. Despite the pros seemingly outweighing the cons, this little black box is hardly worth the money (and I bought mine deeply discounted at about ⅕ the MSRP). If you already have a PlayStation 3, 4, and/or Vita, this little device really isn't going to do much for you. Unless there's a specific game you're wanting to play that's actually compatible with the PlayStation TV, your money is better spent elsewhere.

The name Playstation TV is a little bit deceiving. This is not an ideal device for streaming to a TV. It doesn't even have Youtube, Netflix or Hulu. "Super Vita" in the vein of a Super Gameboy is a more appropriate name. It's ideal as a cheaper option than a Vita to get an opportunity to play a lot of the great games that come to Vita. Not all games are compatible, but a lot of them are. You can also download PS Classics games and PSN games as well as remote play a PS4 to it. It's not worth the full $80 price tag, but for the $40 that it was on sale when I purchased it, it's a great deal.

For all of the people on the fence about buying the PS Vita TV let me first start off by informing you of what it is. The PS Vita TV is basically PS Vita without the screen. Once you plug it into your TV or monitor via HDMI cable you have a video game system that can be used as a stand alone system or secondary system that can be played via remote play with the PS3 or PS4. If you use it as a stand alone system it can play most PS Vita games. You will need a memory card because it only comes with 2GB of memory. If you are a PS Plus member then you are also privileged to the free monthly games. The coolest part to me is that you can play your PS3 and PS4 games via remote play using your home Wi-Fi. What this means is that you can play your other system on a separate TV without unplugging your system from the main TV and reconnecting it in another room. Both systems have to be on and if playing a disc based game the disc has to be inserted. The PS Vita has apps available, but Netflix isn't one of them. You can still watch Netflix on the PS Vita via remote play. It's definitely a great addition.

I was interested in this item when it came out the first time, but it didn't appeal to me because it didn't play all the Vita games. When this sale came on, I was interested because the price dropped to where what it did was worthwhile. Yes, I barely use it, but when I do it's amazing. I love having a system I can put in a little bag and take all my classic games with me. One little deck of cards for Final Fantasy 7, Metal Gear Solid, etc. The link with my Vita cards lets me full-screen enjoy my little screen games as well. I wouldn't spend 70 on it, but the 20 dollar deal on it hit the sweet spot.

I like the playstation TV, but I don't know if I would have paid retail price for it. It's really nice to be able to play my vita games on the TV (though it needs its own memory card, as it doesn't come with one) and I like the remote playing with the PS4. I did have a few connection problems with the PS4 and internet (It seems to have problems just staying connected to the wifi). Still, I got this free with my PS4 which was great, and I don't know if I would find it worth $80 on its own.

Here's the thing, if this little box could run the same apps as a Roku or Chromecast, Sony would have a killer little device. As it is, there just not enough app support for the various video and music services out there to justify this replacing one of the many other streaming boxes. There also aren't enough Vita games supported but I realize most of them require some kind of touch screen interaction which wouldn't translate to the PS TV. I don't know why they couldn't try emulating that with the Duel Shock 4 touch pad though. Oh well. I've tried it using the PS4 streaming option and while there's some obvious lag even with the best connection, most games are still playable. The resolution maxing out at 720p is a bit of a bummer. Now that it's cheaper, I'd recommend it for someone who wants to use it for streaming PS4 games and for the old catalog of PS1 classics on the Playstation store.

Definitely pick this up if want to play Vita games on your television. Keep in mind that not all games are compatible (there's a list online for that), but PS TV's are fairly cheaper than spending $150+ for a Vita console. The resolution upscaling doesn't always look the best for some compatible games, but the PS TV can also remote play PS4 games and is compatible with PS1 and PSP games as well.

The input lag in remote play when traveling is noticable, but for the price it still provides enough entertainment with its offering of Vita games. Just don't expect to be able to play PS4 games remotely when traveling.
