This lens is super sharp with real nice bokeh. Great lens for portraits and a all around great shooting lens. Sony Zeiss lenses are fantastic and worth the price if you are serious about quality.

Zeiss lenses for Sony are amazing! Small and compact, but packs plenty of power when it comes to resolution and image quality. This is my go-to portrait lens.

Despite the circumstances, this lens has been my salvation. Love the bokeh and the sharpness. It was a spontaneous purchase but a great one.

fast, sharp prime lens and balances great on a7III body. a little pricey for a 55mm prime but Sony and Zeiss quality is commensurate.

The best lens of all time for Sony mirrorless cameras. The price of this lens has gone up significantly since its debut but it's understandable. The collaboration with Zeiss is not just a way to hype the lens but it really gives it that sharp and 3D feel of Zeiss lenses. The lens is fast and will give you the focal length you need whether you're a professional photographer or just a traveler. The form factor of this lens pairs well with any Sony mirrorless camera.

This lens is awesome! It is sharp and great for portraits. I use it on a a6000 and the results are impressive. It is expensive, but if you can afford it, you won't be disappointed.

The sharpest lens i had so far and i was dope buy its sharpness. Its pretty cool and good for close up shots. 55mm range is not bad and its good for lowlight. awesome lens.

This lens is a very high quality lens and isn't too big which is key for lugging around for all day shoots! Smooth/creamy bokeh!

Best lines ever especially when combined with the Sony A7R2. But any camera it's mounted to get superior photos. Crispin clean highly detailed accurate . only a very small amount of in the outing far off on the corners but with a backlit sensor and a bright enough subject will look fantastic . Amazing background blur. Incredibly fast auto focus. Focus ring is smooth . Autofocus and lock are incredibly fast and accurate. Standard flower petal lens hood is included and I recommend that you keep it on it at all times to protect it .

I bought this lens for my Sony a7. I found the lens giving me nice low light shots at f/1.8 and significantly sharper than my other non-native lens at f/1.7. I also owned the SEL2870 (kit lens) and SEL2820, and this lens is far sharper than both. I recommend this lens if you lean more towards perfection in your shots. If you are looking for nice day-to-day shots, the other lenses might suffice.

Love the sharpness of the lens and it is incredibly light. Perfect for use on a gimbal.

The lens is well constructed with a certified T* rating (T Stop) which means the transmission stop rates out as true to the F Stop with no loss or distortion of image due to the lens. Plus the 55mm lens provides no distortion of people and/or landscapes as this lens sees closest to what our eyes see hence it is the main lens used for portraits and filming. Side note: the 35mm lens greatly distorts people and landscapes (Good for weird photos - Bad for filming). F Stop 1.8 allows for very shallow depth of field providing a true cinematic look. Paired with a Sony 35mm full frame (sensor) camera it delivers stunning cinema quality filming. Side note: Go to EOSHD.com and download their Pro Color settings for said Sony camera thus delivering even more stunning imagery. Also remember to buy a Zeiss 49mm T* UV filter.

This lens is fantastic. I'm an amateur, so the price tag is tough for my basic needs. But, it's astounding. This lens suits most of my amateur interests & shooting needs (city shots, portraits, interesting "product" type shots for neat things I see). It's very sturdy, light-weight, and VERY easy to use. I'm so glad I bought this one.
