I was very much looking forward to this blu-ray release. I really enjoyed the film, and the plot that connects to Unbreakable. James McAvoy did an amazing job portraying the multiple characters. I highly recommend this film. The only drawback was that this was not given a steelbook release.

Great overall movie and much better than what I originally perceived it to be. Well worth the money and put a unique spin on narrative and screen play.

It is a great, suspense story. James McAvoy, in my opinion, gives a fantastic performance.

I enjoyed watching this movie because it let you know there are people out there that have multiple personalities . It was a thriller throughout the movie but not a good ending. I expected a reason why he was doing what he was doing.

With the release of Glass now upon us, Split is a great title to add to your collection. I feel obligated to notify all buyers that this is an upscale release and is not a true 4K transfer. With Split being a relatively new movie, the difference is fairly negligible, but I would say that you won’t get a very noticeable difference in picture quality between the 4K edition and the regular blu ray. I would say if you’re big into collecting 4K blu Rays now, then it’s worth the price. But if it doesn’t really matter to you, then you can probably just get the regular blu ray and enjoy the same experience. The special features are very good as they explore the production process and also explore James McAvoy’s performance and how he achieved his multiple personalities. If you’re a little wary of buying an M. Nighy Shyamalan Movie, I would say that you can buy Split with confidence as it’s a great return to form for the director that is comparable to his past films like Unbreakable and The Sixth Sense. Well worth adding to your collection.

    Alter Your Shyamalan Perception

After a promising start and a well-documented fall from the spotlight, Split is M. Night Shyamalan's finest hour thus far. An effective thriller, and secret continuation of Unbreakable, the movie is elevated to it's highest moments thanks to an astonishing performance of James McAvoy. Here, McAvoy's antagonist is a man suffering from D.I.D., more commonly known as multiple personalities. His "alters" have taken three girls hostage and struggle to maintain control of his body for The Beast. Much like The Silence of the Lambs, what could be written off as a B-movie thriller transcends expectations thanks to it's cast. As stated before, McAvoy is phenomenal as he slides into each new personality. Anya Taylor-Joy turns in an excellent performance as a young woman whom McAvoy has kidnapped who happens to be quite skilled at surviving the most harrowing of ordeals. I highly recommend this movie to anyone waiting for something new in the genre.

I bought this movie on a whim and the price was right too for only $10. I am NOT horror or slasher films fan so I didn't see this film when it came out a year ago or so. I like James McAvoy and he is a terrific actor. I have owned some of his previous films i.e. Wanted, Atomic Blonde, and all the X-Men First Class films. I like the versatile of James McAvoy's actor how he was able to switch from one DID persona to another. I guess everyone's favorite persona is Hedwig! Hedwig's lisp and the awkwardness of a child sold me. I wished M. Night should have shown Hedwig's dance on camera it would have been comical to see. The costumes for each personality was very distinct to keep the personalities straight for the viewers. I can go on and on and turn this into a film appreciation course but I won't.

A mesmerizing performance by James McAvoy drives writer/director M. Night Shyamalan's terrifying shocker. Three teenage girls (Anya Taylor-Joy, Haley Lu Richardson, Jessica Sula) are abducted by Kevin (McAvoy), a man with 23 distinct personalities. Now, they must desperately try to escape their disturbed captor, even as a 24th personality-one that possesses seemingly superhuman strength, speed, and durability-begins to emerge. Betty Buckley, Brad William Henke co-star. 117 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtracks: English DTS HD 5.1 Master Audio, DVS Dolby Digital stereo, French DTS 5.1, Spanish DTS 5.1; Subtitles: English (SDH), French, Spanish; alternate ending; deleted scenes; featurettes. Two-disc set. VUDU Instawatch Included

I had no idea this was a sequel to Unbreakable, which was released almost 20 years ago! You won't have any idea it is a sequel until the last few minutes of the movie. All though the story, I wasn't quite sure where it going. A multi-personality individual that abducts people, due to the one alter ego that demands the rest of the personalities to follow his orders to accomplish their overall goal. It's difficult to not spoil the movie without describing it more! So, I will leave it at that. See Unbreakable before seeing Split! Then go see Glass!!!

This movie is a must see! Split in 4K looks and sounds incredible. The 4K version definitely amplifies the film’s intensity. Now if they would only release Unbreakabke in 4K...but I’m sure that’s coming soon. SPOILER ALERT: For all film nerds who watched the deleted scenes and features included- the Sterling Brown sidestory was pretty interesting. It would’ve been great in an extended edition.

Spilt is definitely a great thriller with some twist. The first time watching it I was like wow this is pretty scary and crazy. Then I watched it the second time and notice the little things that happened in the movie that were signs of what was actually happening in the movie. It made sense and had at an ah moment. I believe it's one one of the best movies since the six Sense.

M Night's movies in the 2000s (Lady in the Water, The Happening) were so bad. Technically, I think he came back with The Visit with a good movie there, but Split is a great one. This is my favorite performance of James McAvoy. I didn't count, but it's advertised as him having 23 split personalities. It's a performance you have to see for yourself.

Set after Unbreakable ( Bruce Willis- 2000) and a prelude to the upcoming movie Glass, another M Night Sham blockbuster. It is a great addition to the story, when they had it on sale this past week we swooped in on it. By the way keep an eye out for your favorite movie going on sale at any moment, usually save $10-$15 per movie

    M. Night Shyamalan has had a rough period for a while with his movies, but Split was fantastic. The movie is inspiring and fearful and the ending had me in awe with the last shot in the Diner. Ordered online from Best Buy, picked it up the next day. Thanks

Disclaimer, I am a comic book movie nerd. I love movies about unlikely heroes and villains and this film delivers. IMO there can be a lot of overacting in movies such as this, but in this case, everything was tastefully done. The reveals throughout the movie are satisfying and the end leaves you ready for "Glass".

A man capable of changing to multiple personalities from a child to a woman to a bulletproof beast in a quest to destroy manipulators and the impure and redeem the pure at heart. Must see after "unbreakable " and before "glass" 3 movies to vegetate on a Saturday with scifi motivated friends.
