There is no other way around it, you deserve to play this game as a person, as an experienced gamer or as a new gamer. Super Mario 3D World has everything for everyone, it starts with introductory relatively easy worlds and ends with you playing as a champion. The challenge is leveled perfectly with the level design. The level design is one of the best in the Mario franchise. Even though it shares some similarities with Super Mario 3D Land for Nintendo 3DS, every object in 3D World is perfectly blended with its environments leaving any connexion with its predecessors behind. It doesn't add anything new to the Mario formula, instead it decides to accommodate power ups together with gameplay, of any of the various 2D and 3D Mario games like the New Super Mario Bros. series or the Mario Galaxy series, in new ways. The level of detail in the graphics makes you feel as if you are Mario. The grass moving with the wind, the reflection of the lights around the objects, the shadow of the objects, the environments atmosphere and the animals all interact with each other giving life to the universe. The music is perfect for the kind of game. It doesn't matter if any tune of the soundtrack is not orchestrated as the Mario Galaxy games, 3D World just let your body know that you can also like jazz music. I would never imagine that jazz fits perfectly in this kind of game. My conclusions, NINTENDO AND EAD TOKIO (developer behind the game) HAS DONE IT AGAIN. A Mario game playing like a video game using the technical power inside the Wii U as if it was a monster computer, you will play this game 10 years from now and it will retain its value. With this game the art style drives the technological power nor the other way around. You will notice that 3D World is how video games should be, pure games.

this game is a very terrific experience alone...a bit challenging with 2...and just down right hilarious with 3. this is a game that could be played together with friends. the graphics are very pretty...they could have been a bit better but..wouldn't have made much difference. the wiimotes can be used for additional players...but using the small dpad could be uncomfortable and also if you shake the wiimote mario ground pounds...that's not good. it causes some unneccessary deaths. but it is playable in case you don't want to waste money on the wiiU pro controllers.

Mario and his friends make their HD 3D platforming debut in Super Mario 3D World - the sequel to Super Mario 3D Land on the 3DS. This is a must own game for Wii U owners and is a great game for families to play together! Each level gives the player(s) an increasing level of difficulty across eight unique worlds. Up to four players can play together on each stage and the game is designed in such a way where playing together is not very intrusive to one another and won't ruin the experience for the other players. You'll be humming along to the game's soundtrack with just a couple playthroughs too! You won't be disappointed with this game no matter your overall gaming experience.

This game, just like all Nintendo first party titles, is top tier. This release goes back to some Nintendo roots, but this time around you can bring multiple friends along for the ride. The game eases you in with some easier levels in the beginning, but towards the end the difficulty does curve upwards. Luckily it's not a drastic slope and both adults and children should be able to adapt to get through the game while enjoying it. Every level has hidden items to collect if you chose to, and as usual each world has its own theme to prevent things from getting too stale.

It's similar to Super Mario 3D Land for the 3DS, but with multiplayer gameplay and some cool new features like the cat suit and glass pipes. Many levels have such fun and interesting designs that it's often hard to put down the controller. There are even some special levels that make creative use of the touch screen. However, there is a "kiddie" sort of vibe about the game at times, although it does look really great regardless. At any rate, I would recommend this game to _anyone_. It's just too fun to miss, really.

I bought this for me, but it turns out my daughters are the ones that really get a kick out of it. My youngest was playing this when she was 3 and had no problem beating many of the levels. The two of them could play for hours and as a parent it was really enjoyable to sit and watch or to jump in and help out. As far as how it plays, it's definitely the easiest to just pick up and go, but the levels are still very challenging and rewarding. The mix of gameplay and level mechanics is absolutely superb.

One of the true gems for the Wii U, Super Mario 3D World provides the fun and thrills of the modern Mario games with a twist. This time around you can play though the game using 4 Players at once, sometimes helping, sometimes hurting one another in the process. Game will be on the easier side for long time Mario players but the fun is just as big as any of the other games.

Mario makes a triumphant return to the 3d setting. This time save the princess has been replaced by saved the fairies. Not the most compelling story line, but that is what you expect in a mario game. The playable characters actually control differently from each other which is a nice change. Peach can float, toad is fast, but cant jump as high, luigi can jump the highest, but his jump is floaty, and mario is balanced. The multiplayer is a blast but at the more difficult levels it can feel like herding cats... literally. On the surface the game isn't overly challenging, but there are challenges to be had collecting all of the green stars for veteran players. A casual gamer could play through the main story and be challenged while a veteran gamer will still be challenged by the side quests.

Mario is back! After a long awaited entry to the Mario series became a reality with Super Mario 3D Land for the Nintendo 3DS, my hands were shaking. Would it be like Mario 64? Would I have to go through paintings and get stars? I had no clue, but I knew it was a new Super Mario game, and I HAD to have it. While at first I was disappointed that it wasn't a Mario 64 sequel, my chagrin quickly changed to awe and amazement at the pure genius Shigeru Miyamoto has when it comes to creating the Mario universe. After beating the 3DS incarnation, I LONGED for a big screen HD version. Heck, if they'd have released a "HD remake" of 3D Land, I would've been all for it. (TAKE MY RUPEES!) However, my dream multiplied 10 fold when I found out that 3D World would be a stand-alone game, and feature a whole cast of characters. The set pieces are nothing short of breathtaking! Lava filled mountains, snowy peaks and valleys, grassy knolls, and the obligatory Bowser stages, make for an amazing romp through the ever-growing awesomeness that is the Mushroom Kingdom. However, it's not Peach that is in trouble this time. Instead, 8 different fairy princesses, in 8 different "kingdoms," are trapped in glass bottles by the big dragon baddie himself, Bowser! Playing as Mario, Luigi, Toad, or Peach, it is your job to break them out! 4 player simultaneous action on-screen, aided by amazing worlds, ever changing enemies, and challenging Green Star locations, come together for one PHENOMENAL ride! Just played a level that was breathtaking? Just found a green star that was INSANELY hard to find? Tell the world! Post to MiiVerse with a personal message or picture, and let future players know if it contains spoilers, and your Mii will meander around to different Wii U systems and pass the message along! All told, this is everything I wanted from a level-based 3D Mario game. The levels are amazing, the difficulty is just right, the puzzles are challenging, the green star aspect is a thrill, and the characters are perfect! Oh, did I mention that there's a CAT power-up?! Pick up a Bell, and you become Cat Mario! Jump, angle jump, dash, claw, and climb your way up walls! What an amazing idea! This game gets a 10/10 rating from your friendly neighborhood Shaadow. Think 8 levels is enough? Guess again...

Wonderful game with an intense final challenge. Enjoy the feeling of the SNES brought back in a 3d world like no other franchise can. Each character has unique abilities and play styles. For example, Princess Peach glides over gaps, while Luigi has his trademark extra-high jump. The new cat transformation allows players to run on all fours, pounce on enemies, attack in midair, or use their claws to scamper up walls and goal poles. Explore colorful 3D environments filled with obstacles and contraptions like transparent pipes and vertical conveyor belts, which add new puzzle elements. Use the Wii U GamePad Controller's touch screen to search for hidden blocks and freeze enemies in place. Play with up to four of your friends!

This is one of the best games on the Wii U. My kids are 5 and it's easy enough for them to play, yet challenging enough to keep them engaged. It's nice that the whole family can play together. The graphics are top notch, the controls are great, and it's light and humorous! Excellent game for the whole family!!

After the two Super Mario Galaxy games, Nintendo are returning a bit to their roots for their latest mainline console entry in the Mario series. Expanding on the concepts laid out in the 3DS title 'Super Mario 3D Land,' we get a concise synthesis of the gameplay style introduced in the Galaxy games mixed with the structure of a more traditional 2D Mario. Equally comforting and challenging, would recommend to anyone with a Wii U as a must have.

I was enjoying playing this game on my own like I and most others have other Mario games. But this game really shines when you begin playing with others, my girlfriend and I had a blast not only beating the game but going back and collecting all the stars to 100 percent the game. It's the great 3D Mario everyone loves wrapped in a beautiful HD package that makes me look forward to what Nintendo will do in the future with HD consoles!

THIS is how Mario was meant to be played! Nintendo has masterfully meshed the classic side-scrolling 2D Mario we love with the precedent setting game that was, Mario 64. The lush visuals and genius level design make for a truly memorable experience. My only downside would be the difficulty. Don't get me wrong, I love a challenge and this game certainly delivers. That being said, there are some levels that feel like they were made to never be finished. All struggles aside; this is the WiiU game to own! Stop debating and get it!

I was trying to find a Mario bundle for my son and had to settle for the Mario kart 8 Wii u bundle...I had heard of all the amazing things the Mario 3D game does and it didn't disappoint. My son and I stayed up all night playing this game...by far the best Mario game in a long time! I recommended this bundle and game to my friend and he got it for his sons! They love it as well!
