It's amazing that they can sell these lenses at such an amazing price. The quality of these lenses are very similar to that of the G lenses. Focus is sharp and the autofocus is quick. I use this with my Sony A7IV and the results are amazing.

Was pretty good at shooting a high quality low light picture, but lacks some key details that the Sony GM1 comparison thrives in. Autofocus is not very fast if your doing anything at a fair amount of speed when compared to its GM1 counterpart. it is significantly lighter than the G-Master lenses but since I am using it for videography and photography with a lot of zoom changes. otherwise if you are using it in a calmer sense with not a lot of changes happening to your scene you are shooting, it is an amazing lens and is worth getting over the G-Master lens.

Overall Lens is fine and best for beginners and macro photographers. Myself I liked the quality but I wish I have gone for 70-300 as I like capturing objects at longer distance

The best standard lens for Sony a7 series cameras. The lens is tack sharp and no vignetting at all. Been using this on my sony a7iii and it has been my go to lens for any situation. The bokeh is pretty smooth and soft. Overall, a worthy lens and it has been my bread & butter since i got this.

The Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 lens has become a favorite among photographers and videographers for its exceptional balance of performance, portability, and affordability. Here’s a detailed review highlighting why this lens deserves its reputation:
Build Quality and Design
The lens is compact and lightweight, making it an excellent choice for on-the-go shooting. Despite its modest size, the build quality feels solid and professional. The lens features a weather-sealed construction, providing confidence when shooting in challenging conditions.
Image Quality
The Tamron 28-75mm delivers impressive sharpness across the frame, even wide open at f/2.8. Its constant aperture allows for excellent low-light performance and the ability to create creamy, pleasing bokeh. Chromatic aberration and distortion are well-controlled, especially considering its price point.
Versatility
This zoom lens covers a highly versatile focal range, from wide-angle to short telephoto, making it suitable for landscapes, portraits, events, and even product photography. Its compact design complements mirrorless camera systems, providing a balanced and ergonomic feel.
Autofocus Performance
Tamron’s RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) autofocus motor is fast, silent, and precise. This makes the lens particularly suitable for video work, where smooth and quiet focusing is essential.
Value for Money
One of the most compelling aspects of the Tamron 28-75mm is its affordability compared to other f/2.8 zoom lenses. It offers professional-level performance at a fraction of the cost of its competitors, such as Sony’s G Master series.
Cons
While the lens performs exceptionally well, some users may notice minor vignetting or slight corner softness at the widest aperture. However, these can be easily corrected in post-processing and are a small trade-off for the overall performance and value.
Conclusion
The Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 lens is a standout option for photographers and videographers seeking a versatile, high-performance zoom without breaking the bank. Its lightweight design, sharp optics, and reliable autofocus make it an excellent all-around lens for both hobbyists and professionals. Whether you’re capturing landscapes, portraits, or videos, this lens is a worthwhile investment.
