No Reason Not To Have It

The lens is sharp, the autofocus is silent and it feels good in the hand. Oh and it is weather sealed. My only complaint of this lens is that the manual focus ring sits right where your palm is but it never seems to be an issue. This lens is a great walk around lens and is perfect to be used for events, portraits and street photography. I adapt mine to my Nikon z6II and the only lens that would be better than this is the native Z glass 24-70. I have tried out the Nikon F mount 24-70 f/2.8E VR and compared to that lens, this lens just produces images that are sharper and the focus and VR motors are not as clunky and loud. If it were me, and this is what I did after having the choice, I would save the hundreds of dollars and invest it into accessories or more glass. There is no reason to have any other F mount lens on the Nikon system within this zoom range and this is a must have if you cannot afford Z glass.

Does everything above average. Very sharp in the sweet spot and well above average at the extremes. The only shortcoming is that it is very heavy and large. You have to be careful using the flash to avoid lower picture shadows. The weight does help steady hand held shots. You can’t go wrong with this lens.

Some softness on the edges but generally sharp lens. Quality is good enough to shoot for senior students, landscape and a good backup lens for weddings. This is my go to lens....No regrets here.

I can’t say anymore than what’s already been mentioned about this lens in the reviews. If you can afford this lens get it now. Best bang for the buck out there! I have this on my D500 and have taken excellent pictures of my children’s sports, portraits and landscapes. I have the extra battery grip on the D500 and this lens definitely adds some weight but well worth it. Fast shipping from Best Buy. This lens was out of stock for around 2 months, just get it, it does not disappoint. Highly recommend the lens filter for added peace of mind.

I bought this lens as a alternative of Nikon’s one. Image quality is great, build quality is super and price is less than half of Nikon. No regrets. I’ll definitely recommend to my friends and family.

I’ve been wanting this lens for a while. My daughter is playing high school volleyball this year so I took the plunge and bought this lens. I wanted a good fast lens to capture some action. This lens met every expectation. It focuses quickly, captures clear images, and isn’t too bad to carry around.

If you’re still with Canon or Nikon DSLRs, this is going to be one of the best walk around lenses you can get. It might be a bit heavy for some, so that is a consideration, and an 82mm front element is rather expensive to get filters for; but, you get excellent optics and image stabilization for $700 or more saved versus the Nikon or Canon versions. Oh, one more thing, the rings rotate in the Nikon style, Sigmas rotate in the Canon style. To me, that’s probably the biggest difference and what I would use to make my buying decisions.

I really like this lense because it was half the price of Nikon 24-70 and you get similar results. It is also not as long as the Nikon version but I must say it is a heavy lense with good build quality. I've been satisfied with the performance and value for the price. I coupled it with my D750 and I couldn't be happier.

I like this tamron 24-70mm g2 len. It is strong built. All images taken with this len are very sharp even taken in low light settings. The auto focus of the len is fast. The VC of the Len is also very good. I am happy with the purchase of this len. Best Buy delivery is faster than scheduled time.

I used this lens on a recent trip to Iceland and boy I was amazed by the performance. I had a lot of doubt and compared it extensively to the nikon 24-70 lens. The tamaron comes at half the price and the performance is amazing. The images are tack sharp. The build quality is awesome. We used to exchange the lens many times during photographing to get different perspectives and the build quality of this is solid and hence no complaints. Very sharp in the entire focus range and no focus breathing. Must have lens for travel and should be the go to lens for most general photography.

Never had anything but Nikon lens in the past. The Tamron got me back in the game at half the price of the comparable Nikkor lens. Haven't shot a ton of pictures yet but it is sharp as a tack. On the heavy side, but that's the trade off for the f2.8 speed throughout the zoom range. Worth it! Using it on a mini-pod right now and will definitely get a sturdy tripod when I take it to the field. Lens hood is a positive snap-on as is the front lens cap. Nice lens bag if I ever need it. Not sure this lens will spend much time off the camera.

This lense is expensive, so buy it if you really want and need the best. It’s also heavy, so be prepared physically and mentally. The quality of the pictures you get it’s great, it suits all kind of photography, specially portraits, landscapes and street. It’s the kind of lense you need when you only want to carry one lense, like when traveling. I highly recommend this product.

The quality and performance of this lens is outstanding. Photos look sharper and more colorful than the ones taken with my old Nikon 24-70mm. It works perfectly on my Nikon Z6 using the FTZ adaptor, the autofocus is really fast and the vibration reduction is very handy in low light situations. It is a fantastic option at an affordable price!

Just moved back to a Nikon F mount DSLR, so I’m starting my lens collection over. After reviewing multiple sites and following up with some friends, I ordered this Tamron lens, and have been enjoying the ‘getting to know’ process by focusing on local nature photography. So far everything that was pointed out in the reviews rings true, and the Tamron build and technology are impressive.
