Pretty decent build quality, and the subwoofer is small but surprisingly powerful. My main issue is with the rear surround speakers — they’re way too quiet. You can’t adjust the volume of each speaker individually in the app, so to actually hear the rears or feel any immersive Atmos effects, I have to turn the whole system up to an uncomfortably loud level. The TCL app also has a lot of bugs and very limited customization. There’s no built-in microphone in the soundbar for calibration either, so it uses your phone mic, which doesn’t really help. Overall, it’s disappointing for the price, especially not being able to properly adjust the surround speakers.

Bought this to replace my old Bose Cinemate system that failed. I like the sound quality and the atmos effects. I had no issues setting it up and the phone app is the best way to tell what settings you have active. The bass is lacking even with it all the way up. (compared to the old bose system) But….. For the cost of this system it does allright.

Great choice, the reviews were good and the system did not disappoint, easy set up and great sound, plenty of power.

The only thing I don’t like is the volume goes up from 0 to 100 but most of time it feels like it tops out around 50 but the sound is still really great, especially if you position the sub behind you at the rear of your room. So 4 stars it is!

I know the soundbar has gotten a lot of good and bad reviews... However, my experience has been positive.. I find the Fidelity of the sound stage. Very appealing and energetic, especially when watching movies. While it doesn't have all the customization of other soundbars that it competes with tinkering with what is given on the app and remote, I was able to find a very pleasing soundstage with bass, travel, etc. That I would have been looking for if I could have tinkered a bit more if given the opportunity . I will say doing the automatic calibration did make a big difference from my seating position and did tune out the frequencies very well. Probably if I had my biggest negative is that I'm an Android user, not an iPhone user. Therefore, I could not connect this soundbar to Wi-Fi, especially to do the latest software update. However, I did copy the file on their website and did a USB update and everything went perfectly. All in all for what I paid. $499 I have no complaints. I'm satisfied.

My previous soundbar died and I got this as a replacement. The demos I found of the Atmos feature were amazing, it literally sounded like objects were flying overhead. The sound was crisp and clear and I also liked the deep bass. I realize this isn't the absolute best, but I was surprised at tge quality, especially in this price range.

We purchased ours to go with our TCLqm8k. It has transformed the sound from okay to fully immersed. you feel like you are at the movies all the time. The quality, clarity and depth of the sound is unbeatable in my opinion. Very happy with our purchase. Going to buy another for our game room.

Real easy to set up, puts out great sound. Makes the movie come to life, will never have a tv with out surround sound again

Nice crispy good sounds, very loud and Good sound affect, very nice subs that have you on your toes into a movie,or nice sounds playing natural music that will take you back of good memories

TCL - Q85H Q Class 7.1.4 Channel Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos. Works very well. Sound is good. Bass is fine for the room we have it in.

First soundbar I ever purchased. I was a bit worried since the prices on these things are so outrageous so I was hoping this would be a good one without taking out a second mortgage. I bought it to pair with my 85 tcl and it sounds phenomenal. It rattles the whole house literally my son came out of the room and asked me if what he had heard was thunder and I was like no that’s the soundbar. TCL did not dissapoint with this. The wireless speakers do require power to be plugged in.

Bass is low and clairty on music notes is nit worthy of the price you pay , and there is an echo to the noise , lots of tweaks are needed .

I have owned a few sound bars, but this one is by far the best to date. Love the strong bass form the sub woofer and and it has real surround sound capabilities.

For the most part this is a really good sound bar, but having an issue with my TLC TV not acknowledging the sound bar. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Wow, it’s fantastic and super easy to get up and running! I was really surprised by how good this TCL product is. I’m definitely going to check out their other stuff too.

It paired IMMEDIATELY with our 65” TCL TV. Bass & surround sound are amazing.
