    The ultimate Tetris game!

I played Tetris here and there growing up but not to much. I played this over a free weekend and it is incredible! I had to get the full game. There are so many different modes and challenges and the visuals are awesome! You can play relaxing modes and just chill or really put your skills to the test with some crazy fast Tetris. The PSVR is NOT required and it is still amazing without it, the only difference is it is a bit more immersive in the headset, since it is more 3D. Either way, get it!

I have never bought a tetris game, as it's always been, "Just tetris". Man, this games visuals and music will blow you away, specifically if you have VR. There's dozens of different modes to play, with online rankings for each too. Must-buy for any puzzle game or PSVR fan

Tetris will always be a great game with a formula that never needs to be changed, but Tetris Effect adds it's own elements that make it stand out from the many versions released in the past few decades. The music combined with the sound effects produced by the tetrominoes and visuals from the 20+ stages further draws players into the immersive and addicting world of Tetris. Along with the classic endless Tetris mode, the game includes a Journey mode for those seeking a sense of completion. This mode takes you through all the stages requiring players to clear a set number of lines at varying speeds, and when you run into trouble or want to set a higher score, players can activate the Zone meter to clear up to 16+ lines simultaneously. Tetris will be around for a long time and is available on almost any electronic device with a screen, but Tetris Effect emphatically places itself as the best version available now.

The best version of Tetris I have ever played! All of the new game modes are a blast, the weekend event is great, I don’t even have VR or it would be even better. Game is essentially a cross between Lumines and Tetris and is an absolute audial and visual delight!

The game is worth the price. It takes tetris to a new level. The game has multiple modes and unlockable stages. If you played the ds game you will mostly find all those modes plus some other in this game. The HDR isn't out of this world, you can only turn it on or off and there is no adjustment sliders. The default is off and buried in the option menu, which I found odd. You might find the tetris playing field is to small, but you can use the right stick to adjust the size or look around the level. The vr option is a cool add on to the game and it should be played with it, but it still works great without it. The music is perfect and your button presses and beats to the music. It works in perfect harmony. It really does take tetris to the next level. It's a must buy for people that want to play a classic game and great showcase game for people who don't play videogames or vr.

I've played Tetris numerous times in my life and this is easily the best Tetris game I've ever played. Visuals were beautiful, music was outstanding, plenty of game modes. The VR was good. Not the best, but it was still good. Highly recommend it

I bought this game after watching a couple of reviews. I played it in its entirety in VR mode, but the game can also be fully played without VR. The songs are great and the visuals are gorgeous. I never thought Tetris could look this awesome and be so immersive, I spent close to 5 hours straight the first time I tried it, and the game offers several modes to play which will extend one's enjoyment of the game. It's also a very relaxing game, I find myself coming back to it from time to time just to play a few rounds and have some relaxing fun.

This might be my favorite version of Tetris, and I'm old enough that I bought the original Tetris on Nintendo and Game Boy. The visuals are spectacular, with bright colors, neon flourishes, and lush ambient patterns. The music is just as good, and reacts with the visuals to create an overall experience that makes this so much more than just Tetris. Add in the time-tested gameplay of Tetris itself, online leaderboards, multiple game modes, and you have a truly one of a kind experience. Can't recommend this game enough. Wish I could give it six stars.

Tetris Effect is by far the most visually appealing version of Tetris I have ever played with sound/audio that matches it perfectly. If you like Tetris at all, you should definitely consider getting this game. If you love Tetris, you better own it by now or you're just a faker. This game gets intense like all other Tetris games, but some of the stages have music and sounds that intensify it by 100%. It's absolutely insane! Now I just need to play it in VR, as I imagine that is where the real experience is at!

Tetris is such a classic, and this version totally does it justice. The visuals and music combine for a feeling that I've rarely experienced before. The progression of the story mode does a great job of teaching you how to play, by the final level you are moving insanely fast and in the zone along with the music. I've yet to experience the VR but it is worth it on its own for the regular modes

If you've never played Tetris before, stop reading this and go buy the game. If you have, you should also buy the game, but I see how you might need to be convinced. This version of Tetris feels fresh. It looks beautiful and the music is so perfect for the action. You're gonna wanna buy the soundtrack. VR mode is nuts too. It's a challenge, but you will not feel cheated when you lose. All my fellow Tetris Effect owners, I wish you luck as you chase the elusive Decahexatris!

My experience with Tetris Effect has been a great experience of a good mix of slow and fast gameplay. Some levels in Journey mode were simple slow paced levels, and super fast high speed levels. This also had some where the speed of the blocks would match the speed of the music. Just like when you start the game it recommends playing with stereo headphones and I do too. I haven’t played in PSVR, but I plan on getting one to play this game to it’s fullest.

Tetris addicts be warned. If you play this game in VR with headphones, you WILL lose track of time completely. Even without the VR, this is an incredibly fun game, and a great new take on Tetris without changing the core game. Even if you aren't a hardcore Tetris player, this is incredibly fun (according to my wife). If you haven't already, I highly suggest that you pick this up any way that you can.

I'm a long time Tetris player, from way back in the day. I Love the game so was really excited when I saw it had become available as a PS4 VR game. I will admit my expectations were high, so had a little disappointment at the actual VR experience. Don't get me wrong, the game is still really fun and the VR makes it easier for me to see it without my glasses, but VR or regular doesn't matter. Its fun either way. If you are a fan of the old Tetris games, I think you will still enjoy this even though there are some creative differences. And don't expect to be blown away by the VR experience.

Although most of the mechanics are still the trust and true tetris basics this game feels completely different. From the soundtrack to the graphics this is a must play. I've only been playing on the non-vr format and I love it. But if you have the PS VR this is a no brainer. Check it out. The YouTube videos don't do it justice for the feeling you get while playing. Highly recommended...

This game makes me very happy every time I play it. Being someone who's played Tetris my entire life, I have never been this enveloped in Tetris before. The music forever gets stuck in my head, the visuals are stunning, and I just can't get enough of it. Play it in VR if you ever get the chance, as that makes it a purely spiritual experience.

Tetris is a solid game and the stuff they've added to this verison of it are at least a pretty distraction and at most an experience when you reach that zone. Speaking of the zone the zone mechanic is interesting in itself it lets you take off some pressure and just clear lines. Whether it is worth the 40 dollars to you is a different matter. This will be a great cooldown game for me and you can just put it in the effects modes and most people will enjoy the light show. Have yet to give it a try in VR but I think that would be very cool in short bursts.

Bought this and I am completely satisfied with it. The game has a ton of modes and features amazing music and visuals. Those blend with the gameplay perfectly to create an experience that few other games can provide. You can play it without PlayStation VR but it is even more amazing when you do play it in VR.

    Epic, modern version of tetris

This game is came from the maker of games like rez, lumines, and child of eden. They had been making an off-brand tetris for years with lumines, now it's like they just to actually do tetris in that same style. The visuals are wild, but you kind of can't watch them cos' you're trying to play tetris. if you can get someone to watch you to play tetris, this will definitely entertain. there is also some great music on here. by default the controller vibrates to the beat, but i actually had to turn that off after awhile, because some songs were too intense and i thought it would break the controller and some made my hands tickle. I switched the vibration to gameplay only, so it would only vibrate when i cleared some lines. anyway, if you like tetris you will like this game, if you hate tetris, you probably won't like this game. there is no multiplayer btw. this is classic tetris, while also something new at the same time. in journey mode, what the game describes as its "campaign", each of the levels evolve as you progress through them, trying to hit the goal of clearing 36 lines, while scoring as many extra points as possible. oftentimes in levels, you will reach a point that triggers lightning fast tetris. but, as you will find, the game kind of lets you play a different way when you encounter this... you can drag the piece around the floor and keep rotating it for quite some time. once you experience it, you'll know what i'm talking about, it's bizarre, and brilliant somehow. i'm not sure it was quite like that in any previous iteration of tetris, but i'm mostly familiar with the gameboy version. for fans of that version, there is a "secret" 1989 mode, while the look of it is pretty great, the sound seems to be purposely a little off, the music and sounds are similar, but altered versions of the originals. when the level progresses to it's final form, i'm not really a fan of their new version of the classic song. anyway, if you like tetris, and are thinking of getting this, you should probably get it. i don't have VR, so i dunno if that's good, but it probably is.
