I enjoyed the first game and played through it again before getting 2. Despite all the negative views and press, I thought the game was great! Like everyone else when I first read about what happened to Joel, I wanted Abby dead! While others were disappointed in playing as her, I enjoyed her story as well as Ellie and the message the game was trying to send. This game is extremely dark so not for the feint of heart. There are some questions plot points in the game, but nonetheless I still enjoyed it. I say try it out for yourself if you enjoyed the first game, despite the negative reviews. I enjoyed this as much as Days Gone, another game that got a lot of negative reviews.

I'll be honest, I waited till the game was on sale because the game has received a lot of critical reception from review sites, That being said, I actually did enjoy the game a lot. The story I thought was good but rather than being a trip across a post-apocalyptic America like in the first game, this one sticks to less areas, but the maps themselves are very large. The gameplay is solid as is usual for Naughty Dog games. If you have been holding out, I do recommend picking this one up for sure!

The main reason I converted back to PlayStation (PS2) from XBox was primarily due to this game series and it did NOT disappoint. The graphics, storyline, characters, attention to detail and gameplay are captivating. This will definitely be a game I play through multiple times. To this day I can’t decide which part of the game was better, the gameplay or the story/attachment to characters. Naughtydog and their partners spared no expense and took no shortcuts into producing this game. The game/story is quite long and gives you a deep dive into characters’ perspectives that sucks you further into the game. Highly HIGHLY recommend!!!

Honestly can’t stop playing this game since I picked it up. The graphics are absolutely amazing it’s such a beautiful game. The detail the color the expressions on the characters face it’s just absolutely amazing. If you played the first one you are gonna like this one even better. Story is very good and the gameplay is twice as better as the first. With new zombies makes the game more interesting on how to play and take down your enemies. Upgrading your weapons one one of my favorite parts of the game. Literally this game keeps me up so late I’m so tired for work the next day this is a must have game for the PS4

This is the best game this generation. The combat and stealth feel great, you never have to fight with the controls. It has lots of weapons to upgrade, and abilities to unlock. You can also spend hours exploring all the environments looking for materials, letters, cards and items. The story is very good and very emotional. If you played the first one then you will be in for a surprise. But I’m glad the story played out how it did, it actually gives you motivation to press on. It’s a violent game too, but really nothing we haven’t seen before. It really is a great game, the story can be hard to take sometimes, but it’s very much worth it. Buy it.

I'll risk saying this is probably one of the best story sequels in gaming. That said, this title isn't for everyone. It's a story intensive, masterpiece. If you played the first game / Part I more than once, you'll love this game. If you didn't, then you might find the visuals cinematic but the gameplay just above average. On a side note, you need to play this one with stereo headphones for the full effect. As mentioned everywhere, Sony could have saved this one for a earth-shattering launch of the PS5, but fans have waited long enough for Part II. So, kudos to Sony and Naughty Dog if this is the last blockbuster for the PS4. - Enjoy

What do you do when you don't have a story to tell

Naughty Dog has been the primary developer keeping me excited for gaming ever since I fell in love with the Uncharted franchise early in the PS3 gen. Their incredible story driven games have obviously had a big impact on other developers as well, making their competition much better than it used to be. Still, for the longest time nobody has done it better than Naughty Dog. Which makes this somewhat of a black eye on the company. Though it will find plenty of controversy, it's not a bad game by any measure. But after all the delays, I think a lot of people expected better, and rightfully so. Essentially ND didn't have another story to tell. So they opted to embellish further on the first, while vainly counting on exploiting aspects of the main character that were barely mentioned in the first game, and might catch anyone by surprise who didn't opt to pay out extra for the first games DLC. There's no evading it this time. And a lot of players might also find it disconcerting how they've turned a fairly sweet and innocent young girl into a rather heartless monster, seemingly so at least. It all works out in the end. And she pays dearly for the vengeful and selfish choices she makes. In that sense it's very much an unwitting or maybe even a deliberate commentary on the end of days, the type of people who will be left and a return to a survival of the fittest mentality. That said, they did a very compelling, if not fantastic job of winging it with the story. Albeit, only subjectively engaging, lagging in banter (relative to past ND outings), and rather disjointed, ND's approach to this story is a profound one, especially for the gaming industry. It's very much worthy of praise and esteem, even if the story ultimately backpedals more than it progresses this world they've created. The graphics are always a strong point of any ND game. While great, I honestly expected a bit better in this area of the game too. It's linear gameplay and budget inspires something more revolutionary than what we've been given. As is, while it looks great, we've seen better even from much more massive open-world games from the Assassin's Creed franchise and others. Maybe they're holding back for the PS5 version, but based on how they failed to fix graphic issues with the PS4 remastered edition of the first game, I don't know if I'd hold my breath. Despite being one of the rare games to come on two discs, and being delayed for so long, ND still has some bugs to work out in the gameplay as well. On more than one occasion the game wouldn't allow me to stealth takedown an enemy for no apparent reason. Searching cabinets and picking up items sometimes came with an elongated pause. The game didn't actually freeze, but only the character itself lagged, the sound and everything continued normally. Toward the end, in the villa, there was an enemy combatant who would disappear every time I aimed my weapon at him, leaving his own weapon floating in the air as if held by a ghost. No major bugs occurred, nothing play ending or even requiring a reset or report. But clearly the different departments working on the game didn't work closely enough: It's rather laughable, if not a bit infuriating, to have a character with nothing but shivs that have to be remade after a single use when there are actual knives lying about in half the buildings they scavenge. And like the last game, it seems with this one too, many enemy combatants are walking around with unloaded weapons, as weapon drops frequently don't produce any ammo for your character, even on normal level of play. The Last of Us has plenty of gameplay though. When I first thought it was over, it turned out I was only half-way through. Then I thought it was over again, and there was still another hour or two left. Recommended, but with strong reservations.

I have been waiting on this game for 6 years. The first is one of my favorite games ever. I have beat the first one 4 times and it is still pretty emotional every time. I don’t agree with all the story choices but it is still a great game. The story, graphics, gameplay are all amazing. I have only beat it once but I plan to beat several times over the next couple of years. There are so many ways to play the game, which add to the replay value. The game forces you to do some things you do not want to but in the end you understand what they were trying to do. I don’t see how anyone could complete this game and not love.

    Fantastic Game for Adult Gamers

This is an adult game for adult gamers. Wonderful story, great gameplay, and beautiful graphics... but it is probably the most brutal, graphic, adult-themed game I have played in 40 years of gaming. This is not for your kids, it is 16+ in my book, and I usually dont ever say that sort of thing. The criticisms of the game online are mostly uninformed nonsense, but the game does have characters with various sexual orientations and gender identities. If this sort of thing upsets you for some reason, maybe this is not your sort of game. I found it to be an amazing, yet disturbing modern story unlike any game I have played before.

This game is phenomenal, however, it is emotionally devastating so make sure you're in a good place mentally when you jump in. The storytelling is beautifully done and the gameplay is excellent. Prepare to think about this game daily for months after you finish.

Loved the first game...and I love the 2nd game as well...a little different in the story and a lot of people hate how the story goes but I still loved the fighting, scrambling for supplies, and upgrading of weapons...it still kept me going in this game and the graphics and scenery are phenomenal...really shows the true power of the PS4...and it plays on your emotions through out the story. Never before have I had my emotions be thrown all over the place in a video game. Besides what a lot of critics say, it's a amazing game but you have to play it all the way through the get the full effects of the story...

I loved the first game! But I found this one even more entertaining! Everything from the characters, gameplay, story, and the environments, plus the graphics are just amazing. I’ve never played a game that had so much emotion! I also love how long the game is, took me about 41 hours on hard to complete as I like to find all the collectibles and take my time with games as good as this one is. I was saddened to finish this game as it left me wanting more. I can’t wait for part 3!!

First, Best Buy dropped the ball on my pre-order bonuses. Never got a link, code, anything. Contacted the game specialists in thier support and got no response other than acknowledgement of receipt. Needless to say Im not pre-ordering with Best Buy again. Loved the first. Enjoyed the second very much. It's a unique mix of story and game play. Looks and sounds amazing. Sometimes I enjoyed the story breaks, other times I felt it was a buzzkill to playing. I'm not going to get more editorial on the storyline. Theres way too much out there already. But def mature audience only- not a kid/tween game. I do recommend.

Wow. This game is just INSANE. Graphically, it’s the best game I’ve seen on ps4 pro. The story is exhilarating and extremely emotional. It’s a heavy subject matter so def not for kids. Also incredibly violent but that’s a positive in my eyes, since the details, sound, and physics are so precise. The game will make u feel uncomfortable at times and keeps you engaged the whole ride through. What an experience it was to actually feel like you’re Ellie in this post apocalyptic world. It’s the best zombie movie I’ve ever played lol. Highly recommend for any one into action, stealth, cinema, or a fan of its predecessor.

Very controversial game to some players who've played part one. I've played part one and enjoyed this game VERY much. I don't agree with a choice they made in the story, but everything else makes up for it. The graphics, gameplay, story, development of characters, lessons learned, upgrades, etc are just worth the play. I'm on my second play through and it's a really long game. I thought the game ended twice but it kept going lol. Definitely play it if you've already played part one, and play part one if you haven't already. Part one is an AMAZING story, while this one is a great one.

Phenomenal game and sequel, I loved this entry a lot more than the first game! I've played the first TLOU about 5 times, and finally decided to give this game a shot after watching the HBO show. I had heard a lot of criticism on Abby's character (understandable), but she's an amazing character and part of this series. Can't wait to see what's next!

Awesome game! Its more than a game, SO Much story and new locations to explore, time lines, flash backs, filling in all the blanks from part 1. I really really hope for a Part 3. Id have to say probably the best game on ps4 to date. It really puts you in the world, open world exploring, solid AI, all the effects are amazing and realistic. Outside of the game itself, I only wish it was easier to unlock photo galleries and models, feels like points take forever to accrue. Love this game so much I cant wait for the day Im ready to play it all over again!

As a fan of the first game, I didn't exactly enjoy how this story played out for multiple reasons that I can't state to not spoil anything. But I can say, the main character of the game isn't who you think at all. And that was a let down after waiting so long to play as these characters. Also felt there were some pacing issues. Wasn't the best experience having only an hour to play sometimes, and spending 45 of those minutes pretty much playing an interactive cutscene. Despite that, the gameplay and intensity are still there. And it's the most detailed and realistic world/animations/graphics, you will ever see. I guess this is a game that isn't for everyone, but you should give it a try as it does some things better than any other game.
