Lives up to the Zelda Games but there's an issue

Don't get me wrong the game is excellent to play and lives up to the Zelda tradition. The only thing though that I don't like is that the game is designed to be played with multiple people, not really for single player like most traditional Zelda games. The game itself has amazing graphics and a decent single player game mode and the graphics are exactly like The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds so there's no having to used to a different look. It's a good game but I give it a 3 out of 5 due to having a heavy multiplayer influence.

I bought 3 copies of this to play with my brother and sister. We each have our own 3ds to play. You can play with one copy through download play if together but now we can play even when were at different places. It is a great game and we have a lot of fun.

This game is pretty cute and amusing, combat is good, nifty hidden homages to previous Zelda games(hit the pillars while waiting for people to join your lobby). Puzzle are pretty good, works well single player wise too. Gathering materials for new costumes is rewarding. Versus mode is really fun, also challenging and rewarding. Really good game and very fun.

    Disappointing Zelda Game

The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes has to be one of the most disappointing Zelda games in the entire series. The story completely falls out of line with anything Zelda and does not even seem like it would be in a Zelda game. There wasn't much of anything interesting in the story, and it seems like something a 6 or 7 year old girl would be interested in, as it focuses on a fashion obsessed land with a princess who was cursed to wear an ugly brown bodysuit. It was just some cheap excuse for the developers to put costumes in the game. The gameplay itself isn't that much better either, unless maybe if you're playing locally. The dungeons in Triforce Heroes are designed for three players and must be played with three players, so in order to play the game, you have three options: play locally with 2 other friends, play online with 2 random people, or play by yourself with 2 dummies. Playing by yourself with the dummies just doesn't work well and controlling them is a huge pain. It's nothing like how you'd control the Links in Four Swords, and if it were like Four Swords in terms of control, it would make the game so much better to play by yourself. Playing online can be fun, depending on who you get and how well the Internet works. Sometimes, you get stuck with people who don't cooperate well and would prefer to just do things like throw other people on the team off cliffs, and even though, you can communicate with others using icons that you tap on the bottom screen, it's not that great of a way to communicate in some circumstances. At other times, the Internet connection may not be that good, and the game might lag like crazy online. I haven't tried playing the game locally because I don't have two other people to play it with, but i'd imagine it would be way more fun with two friends next to you. A key component that is found in the gameplay is the ability for you and your party to wear costumes which give you different abilities, but to be honest, they don't really change up the gameplay that much. It just seems like a way to justify having three Links rather than one since certain abilities can only be done with certain costumes now. Graphically, the game looks like A Link Between Worlds, which I think was a good choice since ALBW looked really nice. In my opinion, the music isn't that great, though, especially when compared to other Zelda games. Overall, Triforce Heroes is just a lackluster, disappointing Zelda title that really is not worth purchasing. The story is terrible, the gameplay isn't that good unless you have friends locally, and the new costume aspect just isn't that appealing. You'd be better off spending your money on a different game or on a real Zelda game, like A Link Between World or Majora's Mask 3D.

This game seems to lack the in depth story that most Zelda games have, but it has a multiplayer element which is a fun change. A warning about this game though, (for now) you can only play either 1 player offline or online 2 player local and online or online 3 player local/offline or online What this means is that you cannot play 2 players alone and offline. The game must have 3 characters at all times and for now the game does not allow you to connect through 3DS download play (local) with just 2 players, you have to get the third player either by adding another local player or finding one online. With that being said the game is still fun and it keeps things different. The online play and puzzles are fun and the game has a similar element to majora's mask by using different outfits to gain different abilities (like masks in majora)

What's great is being able to play with others be it friends or just random people online, but you can also play with yourself. What's unfortunate is the online connect is region locked, which means you can only play with people in N. America. It's probably not too bad since not many people have friends oversea, but for those who do...well, sorry. Taking place a few years after A Link Between Worlds (which I also recommend you play if you haven't already), TFH is mostly about multiplayer and solving the puzzles, the latter being something Legend of Zelda is known for. Communication is limited but it's easy to understand what others mean as the icons are pretty straight forward. From getting through 4 stages of an area you get an item that will be used as material to make clothes that will be useful on the journey to saving Princess Styla who was cursed by a witch. Not to mention the challenges that are unlocked when the temple of the area is beaten. The challenges can be anything from having a time limit to half energy or half attack and defense to "adventure in the dark". Triforce Heroes definitely is a joy to play with more to come and hopefully soon. I highly recommend it if you are a fan of the Zelda series and/or enjoyed Four Swords and/or ALBW.

With the graphic style and top-down format of A Link Between Worlds, this game adds a new element with multiplayer or single player controlling 3 Links. No open world to explore but straight to the dungeons - in my mind not a terrible thing for those who like to pick up and play quickly. There are new dimensions to the puzzles designed to be solved with 3 characters instead of one. Highly recommended.

Forget the Zelda games you know (unless you know Four Swords). This is an enjoyable game if you are playing with friends. I've played mostly online with one friend and our third player has been random so far and we have enjoyed the experience. If you have 3 friends and can play online (with chat through some other means) this is great. If you have 3 friends and can play in the same room it's probably even better. Only 4 stars due to the somewhat limited nature of the game. Seems like the replay value is moderate, but I feel confident that playing through all the levels is well worth full price regardless of whether or not I reach 100% completion (let's be honest, it isn't likely).

I wasn't very excited for Tri Force Heroes initially. But after playing an online demo I was hooked. The game isn't as serious as main Zelda games, sporting colorful characters and a lighthearted ( and somewhat nonsensical) plot. Ideally, the best way to play is with friends, either playing in person or online, but playing with strangers online is also a lot of fun! Communicating with emoticons, trying to solve the puzzles together feels very rewarding. Now, regarding internet lag, I encountered very little lag, but if you have a lot of people using the internet while your playing, you'll probably have a bit of choppiness. Overall though, very fun game for any Zelda fan, or anyone who has freinds to play with.

A fun game that has a knack of feeling like a zelda game, but also not at the same time. The story is pretty mundane for the series, this doesn't hinder the enjoyment though. Pretty enjoyable when playing online, but heavily dependent on the Internet connection of your comrades. If one person disconnects, it automatically ends the dungeon. You have the ability to play by yourself which really mixes things up but isn't anywhere near as enjoyable as local or online multiplayer. TLDR: Great game with other people. Not as enjoyable by yourself.

What a great game! Here, the same Link from "A Link Bewtween Worlds" is present, and now he must save the princess of Hytopia from the curse of having I wear a hideous jumpsuit. While hardcore Zelda fans will be disappointed by the story, I enjoyed it. The costumes are creative and give you neat abilities in dungeons. My only complaint is how when you play online, you could get paire up with someone who plays horribly on purpose. But so is the price of aging an online game.

Triforce Heroes is a great game best enjoyed with others, though it may be a surprise to many that the game is even more challenging when completing levels (especially challenge scenarios) on your own. The hook of the game is simple: play solo or with 3 other people (locally or online; if locally, only 1 copy of the game is needed, which is GREAT), beating dungeons that take about 15 minutes to complete. There are 8 worlds, each with 4 levels, for a total of 32 stages. Complete each stage, earning rubies along the way, and at the end of the stage you're rewarded with materials that can be used to make new outfits that give you status bonuses (more hearts, weapon boost, more energy, etc.). The puzzles within the levels are fun and clever, and while the first world is a bit of a cake walk for veteran players, the levels do become increasingly challenging. Online play can can be a mixed bag, with disconnects, log, and connectivity issues, but overall I've found the experience tends to be both surprisingly solid and fun, especially when attempting one of the thirty-two levels with a Drabland challenge active. I've had minor issues with lag and players dropping (for whatever reason), and while communication is limited to a preset list of commands, the system Nintendo put in place works well enough with the mechanics of the game to not make it a hindrance when playing with strangers. Where the title really falls short is if you'd like to play with only two people, you can't. This is something that could be addressed with a patch down the road, but right now, it's either a solo or trio adventure, which is a downer for couples looking to play together. Still, it's an enjoyable game that gives players a reason to replay levels over and over again, even if it's for just 15 minutes at a time.

Though missing a lot of things that make a Zelda game what it is, this dungeon-crawling based TLOZ is really good in its own area. Tons of puzzles, challenges and outfits will keep you replaying all the stages. WARNING: This is meant for a multiplayer experience (specially local), so if you are getting this for a one player gameplay, DONT, really, DO NOT PLAY TRIFORCE HEROES SINGLE PLAYER, it makes everything slow paced and tedious.

'Triforce Heroes' clearly was designed as a multiplayer-first game, but what I love is that they didn't forget the faction of fans who want to (or can only) play alone. The game's backstory is just silly, but this wasn't meant to be the next 'A Link to the Past' or 'Ocarina of Time'. The focus of the game was the gameplay itself. Having played both single player and online multiplayer, I found multiplayer to be much more enjoyable. The caveat is that I personally enjoy playing with friends and family and am not enamored with the idea of playing with someone I don't know. That's why when I found out that for multiplayer you HAVE to play with two other people (you can't fill in a spot with a computer controlled character) I was a little less than thrilled. Overall the game is good. You're not going to get a great epic adventure, but you will get a fun game best enjoyed with others.

Tri-Force Hereos is a different take on Zelda. The game is generally a series of dungeon puzzles that you would find spread out through a world in other Zelda games, but they are all packed into one space that allows multi-player or solo play. After beating a board, three challenges are added to each, so there is a great amount of replay and challenge value.

Game is not as heavy on story as other Zelda titles, but you can play with 2 other people online. Gives the game replayability. Communication system is not the best, so if you know people with the game, use an app like Skype while you play. Easy to learn, puzzles good range of difficulty. Not the best Zelda of all time, but still fun.

I was a little nervous about getting this game at first. I love Zelda games but the fashion oriented themeing seemed weird. Playing the game, it is fun and the lack of voice communication actually adds to the fun/challenge of the game. Story is definitely not as deep as the other games in the series and the some of the characters are, I would say goofy but it doesn't take away from the team work focus of the game which I enjoy.
