Many young viewers may not have seen the original film (with Danny Kaye). This re-make is shot in some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world (Iceland). The visual effects are terrific; but the juxtaposition between the familial/business-related inter-personal dynamics make this a modern classic comedy satire. Ben Stiller and Kristen Wiig create the necessary space for the viewer to enter the film and experience the magic.

Walter Mitty couldn't have been a better movie. I was worried about another remake of an old classic but Ben Stillar ( directed and acted ) did an incredible job composing each and every shot in the movie. Every scene is like a beautiful photo. Stillar does a masterful job of playing Walter Mitty as well and you won't soon forget the helicopter pilot or Kristen Wiig who is perfect as Walter's love interest. Watch it on Blu Ray and you'll feel the same way I do. I needed this one in my collection as I'm sure I'll be watching it over and over again

I think I relate to Walter a little. I just wish I had the chance to just get up and took risks like did. He went out of his comfort zone and in the end He succeed on every level.

The ONLY negative is that they have not come out with an ultra 4K Edition. This movie is made for that kind of quality given all of its epic panoramic scenes. To be brief I just think it's a very unique movie. I'm not necessarily a huge Ben Stiller fan but this is not Ben Stiller and one of his normal roles. He does a great job within the limitations of his initial character while slowly becoming who he was meant to be through certain risks in life and taking those chances. I guess there's something about him that I relate to in that I know there are things inside me that this world has tried to crush but has not yet succeeded and in fact I have changed over the years more and more. The entire cast did a great job. Everybody from the drunk Icelandic pilot to Kristen Wiigs as Ben's love interest is fabulous. My three favorite scenes are quiet moment with the ghost cat, longboarding down an Icelandic road with sweeping, vastly empty but captivating views, and the courage inducing singing of Wiigs character of Major Tom. I've watched this film about 8 times and can't see a limitation to the times that I will watch this very uplifting film.

This movie delves into peoples imaginations. It teaches many lessons in life and offer us hope to those who may live a reserved lifestyle.

A lonely and introverted man globetrots halfway across the world to seek the one man who will save him (literally and figuratively). Along the way we will witness his daydreams and hopes, along with his adventures. Many critics blasted the movie and while I agree that for all the bold landscapes the movie provides, there isn't enough "oomph" in the plot. But that does not mean this movie is not enjoyable. It's whimsical on a grand scale. People can relate to Walter in some way. If anything else, this is a "message" movie that inspires us to go for it, to get what we want and not be held back by fear of the unknown. The Blu-ray disc is reference quality. The picture enhances the beautiful scenery of the various parts of foreign countries he visits (Greenland, Iceland). The sound is clear as the imaginary explosions and music take us to different locations. I wish there were more extras, but what's available is fine especially the making-of. The inspiration featurette is interesting and I only with it were much longer (it's under 4 min.).

This is a very good family movie. I have used this movie as a source for bible study. I would highly recommend this movie!

I really like the story of this movie, and It was a great deal for Black Friday to get it in digital version.

Top five of favorite movies. Ben Stiller has a great performance. It'll make you want to travel.

Good movie, pleasant and the digital copy still works and that's always a plus.

Yes an interesting movie, and entertaining enough to watch every now and then

A "Walter Mitty" is simply known as a person who seeks escape reality by daydreaming. The story starts off a little weird, but once you find out he's daydreaming, you finally get how the director is trying to get you into Walter Mitty's mind, played by Ben Stiller. The antagonist of the movie couldn't have been played better by Adam Scott (his facial expressions are perfect!), Walter's inspiration and internal drive of the movie who is Kristen Wiig's character couldn't have been better played, with Sean Penn's character wrapping the whole story up beautifully by having his best work of his professional career with LIFE MAGAZINE saved for last. Once you see the ending, you will be left speechless if you've allowed yourself to be invested in Walter Mitty as the story goes. Give it a chance! You won't regret it...

I loved this film. Very inspiring and uplifting. Give it a watch.

I love this movie so much!!! It is very inspiring!!!

LOVED this movie. Had low expectations going in (which usually helps) and liked it enough to watch it multiple times. The humor is a bit goofy at times but there's an element of inspiring energy throughout the whole movie and a positive message. The cinematography (and on lacation shooting) is gorgeous! And the soundtrack, including songs by Jose Gonzalez is beautiful and add so much to the film. What could've been just another mediocre comedy worked its way into a little masterpiece. I'm normally not a fan of Ben Stiller films but there's something special about this movie that will keep drawing me back to it again and again

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty was instantly one of my favorite movies. I like that it combines action, adventure, drama, romance, and comedy in one film and the story flows well and none of the genre aspects seem out of place. I found the story to be inspirational as Walter transforms from something of an easy mark to becoming the person he wants to be in his unique journey on his attempt to achieve his goals. The blu ray features are somewhat lacking, although none are unwanted. I would have really liked to have a commentary track for the movie to hear what cast and crew had to say throughout the movie. Because of how much I enjoyed this movie, I can't give it anything less than five stars.

When my husband and I first found this movie back in February--on one of the free movie channels (and our furnace had gone out so we were pretty much glued to the couch) we decided to give it a chance, and I am certainly glad we did. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, and I had a bit of a hard time following what was real and what was in Walter's imagination a few times, but over all it was a good movie. I bought it because it is one I would actually want to watch a second or third time to see what things I might have missed in previous viewings.

I love this movie, from the first time I saw it in the theater. You will walk away feeling ready to take on the world. It makes you realize its the little things in life that are most important. That you have it in you to tackle your fears, and that your fears may not always be huge, but by taking on the little ones, you can eventually take on the big ones. You will find Walters "daydreams" the funniest, but not the only funny parts of the movie. Ben Stiller plays his part to perfection. If your looking for a good, clean, thought provoking, funny movie, you've found it.
