Was a gift, they enjoyed it, said it wasn’t the best new content but stilll very playable.
Would be cool to have more DLC built into the product but that’s the game these days.

If you ever wanted to build your dream home and live in it then Sims 4 might be for you. The building options in this game are so easy to use it is impossible to mess up. You can move anything you've already built around and rearrange your house on the fly, even after you have moved in. Become the architect you always dreamed of and let others share your genius which you can do right in-game! The only real limitations the building mode has are the color choices. I did find those limiting, but overall everything I built felt unique and expressed me.
When actually living as a sim there is so much detail in how they react to each other and to their current situation. The focus on managing their emotional state is a new twist to the Sims, and while not quite up to its full potential yet, it definitely brings new challenge and life to the little sim people. The jobs available in Sims 4 are much more entertaining than before. Instead of being a businessman, politician, or medic the jobs now include things like astronaut, secret agent, and writer. And when you are not at work you can entertain your sims by fishing, collecting, gardening, cooking, and creating works of art. The new cooking system has so many more recipes and you can even specialize in gourmet food!
I loved playing Sims 2 and I'm so pleased this game feels like they brought back so much of the life and fun that was missing in the Sims 3.

I've gotten this game for my girlfriend for Christmas and she loves it. She had been playing sims 3 and told me this was what she wanted before it even came out. She has not stop playing it since. Just seeing her happy is enough and you know when your girl is happy you will be happy.
Thanks EA.

As a diehard fan of The Sims, this game did not play up to caliber and I do not recommend it for seasoned players or new players, either. From the moment I got this game, it began giving me problems and I have had to re-start more than once by the advice of EA, manufacturer who releases The Sims games. The Sims 4 offers very little to entice a player from The Sims 3. I honestly felt as if I had made a mistake to invest in The Sims 4 while ridding of The Sims 3. Graphics and attention to detail are absolutely fantastic in The Sims 4, though I would not willingly trade Sims 3 for Sims 4 just because of the graphics.

This is the first sims game that actually works well on mac. My girlfriend loves to play it on her 2015 macbook and I wish the addons were cheaper or included but besides that the game is very fun.

Sims 4 Play with life?

No, this is not the simulation game that I have come to know and love since 2000. I have been playing the Sims since the Original was released. With every new addition to the Sims series it worked off of what made the previous so enjoyable and great, and added to it plus bringing something new to game play as well! With Sims 2 not only did we get life stages, but weather, partly drivable cars, and most importantly fully fleshed out Sims. With Sims 3 they took a lot of what made Sims 2 so great and gave us an open world that our Sims could explore. No longer confined to loading screens, we got beautiful vibrant worlds teeming with life. And we also were able to unleash our creativity with a color wheel. You could literally recolor anything thing that you wanted in world.
Well, with Sims 4 it's a huge step backwards. AND that's very disappointing. they say "In The Sims 3, you got the opportunity to throw open the doors and explore the neighborhood — well in The Sims 4, it's time to look within the mind, body and heart of your Sims for an amazingly rich and incredibly lifelike story that you won't forget" It's not amazing nor is it incredibly lifelike. The new emotions that the talked about so much is lack luster. They are comically over done, and the way it effects the Sim over all makes no sense. I mean really, you're Sim is angry so they have the option to take an "angry" poo. Or if in a flirty mood, bake "flirty" cookies. Seriously. And no matter what traits and characteristics you pick for your Sims, they all act the same, rolling almost identical wants. The Sims are flat and one dimensional. The multitasking was a great idea, but even that is flawed. From playing musical chairs when your Sims are talking or eating, to sitting down watching television and reading a book. EA would have you to believe that with those two features alone it would replace the beauty that was an open world. After giving your Sims the freedom of movement and no loading screens, they shove you back into a box. It's like your Sims and you, are being punished for enjoying an open world. And the load screens are worse than those in Sims 2. You even get a load screen when your Sim goes next door to visit their neighbor. Even in the Sims 1 the back drop was not a fake painting, but in Sims 4 not only is the background fake but it's blurry as well. The Sims 4 started out as an M M O, and do to other background things happening (Sims City online) they got scared and decided to make it a single player offline game. There used to be a game called The Sims Online. Players hated it, and it flopped, and we asked EA never try to make an online version of the Sims ever again. Did they listen? No. And instead of giving us the next generation of Sims, that could have blown our minds, they gave us this disastrous game. I'm not even going to mention how babies are objects now (i.e. Sims 1 babies) and there are no toddlers, or family trees, or even family play for that matter. Just this whole game is very, very disappointing. I had went into this with high hopes even after reading reviews and watching a few "Lets Plays" on YouTube. But honestly, save your money, don't even buy this on sale. It's a shell of a base game. And a shadow of it's predecessors. The Sims is a life simulation/sandbox game, and the Sims 4 falls severely short in this regard. It's a Facebook game made for PC not even juiced up on steroids. If you're looking for a game that will only hold your attention for the same amount of time as Simpsons Tapped our or any other smart phone tap game, then this is for you. But if you're looking for this to be a continuation in the Sims series, continue looking because it's not hear. Plays Sims 2 and Sims 3, heck, go out and buy Sims 1. You'll have way more fun and actually be playing The Sims! EA needs to listen to their consumers and make a game that we want to play and spend our money on. They made a huge blunder with this one.

30+ hours and having fun

I am enjoying this game immensely so far as my review summary states I've invested over 30 hours since the game released. I love upgrading my house and my Sims careers. I filled up my entire household which is a maximum of 8 per household and that has given me plenty to keep up with. As others have stated in this Sims you can let them do their own thing and the game won't end. On that note I will end this by saying the more interaction you have with your Sims the better off they will be.

Stick with The Sims 3

I've been anxiously awaiting the release of The Sims 4 for quite some time. I was recently made aware of the missing pools and toddlers but I've been playing The Sims since the beginning so I decided I wasn't going to let that keep me from giving this game a shot.
At last the game has arrived! I get on to play and start creating my sim, the create a sim tool is great, I mean it's missing some simple things from TS3, like body hair but no biggie. So finally, I'm done creating and I get to start playing... Select a house? Okay, but why is this neighborhood all divided up into sections? Well... you can't simply travel around the neighborhood like before. What, are you joking? No! Remember what it was like in TS2? It's like that, loading screens to travel to and from a lot of places. Meh.
Fine whatever, let me just go get my usual job in the business career and it'll all be good. Nope, you can't do that either, sorry! My Sim just vanishes into thin air, I can't see his needs or anything while he's gone. There are many other things that I've found missing from the game compared to previous versions.
While the emotions of the sims are an interesting addition to the game, they most certainly do not make up for the all of the things that are now missing. The graphics in my opinion are only slightly better than before.
I remember the day the first Sims came out, I was glued, for hours and hours. It's only taken me about 3 hours to get bored with The Sims 4. Keep your money and stick with The Sims 3, you'll be glad you did.
I'll probably be returning my copy tonight via the Origin Great Game Guarantee because in my honest opinion, the game is a very stripped down version of the Sims 3 that is not worth the price tag.
