Great but awkward

As luck (good and bad) would have it I pulled a hamstring playing soccer the day before this was to ship to my house. And I’ll begin by saying I was very grateful at the timing and the Therabody has helped immensely at easing the pain in my leg. So, if that’s what you’re looking for - and really that’s all I want out of a massaging device like this - then mission accomplished. If, like me, you’re no longer a spring chicken and have soreness after exercising, then this is a relatively low-cost option to aid in the relief of pretty routine muscle pains. Obviously, if you’ve got something more going on you should ask a doctor or chiropractor about this kind of thing.
While I don’t (yet) regularly need something as complex as this device, I am impressed by the presentation of it all. The packaging is nice, the device itself is as sturdy as a rock, and the app has a LOT going on with a pretty intuitive use interface. Most importantly, this thing is hefty and feels very well made. It is built to be in motion and with that comes the risk of things breaking, but it certainly doesn’t *feel* like there’s any danger of the theragun falling apart or breaking anytime soon. It’s heavy and it’s powerful. The sides are grippy and the massage “head” is soft-ish and gets quite warm. Again, if you’re looking for a simple, quick way to get some muscle relief this is definitely more convenient and affordable (for me) than going to a masseuse. The app has a ton of options to target specific places, and also is way more connected to exercise than I realized. Connecting it to my Apple Health data immediately pulled up suggestions for a routine to do after my regular HIIT workouts. That’s pretty cool. The packaging also includes these little bookmark shaped pieces of sturdy paper with specific massage suggestions that can be viewed in the app for more detail. Pairing is simple, and it’s nice to know that if there are some future updates that improve things it’ll be easy enough to download and install (presumably). A soft carrying case is included. The foam inside isn’t the best, but it shows you additional attachment options available for purchase and what they are best suited for. I don’t see myself buying any of these anytime soon, but I do like that this info is just printed on the inside of the carrying case in the event I ever decide I need one. I’ll know exactly where to look.
What don’t I like? Well, the app clearly wants to be your one stop shop for all things fitness tracking and… I’m just not sure anyone is going to do that. Does anyone do that? I suppose they might, but it seems like an unnecessary investment of resources on Therabody’s part and the result is a cluttered app experience. I’ve definitely seen worse, but again - I’m just not going to track my workouts or exercise in this app. There are other, more dedicated options for those things.
And then there’s the device itself. It’s easy to pick up and it’s compact, but I also find the shape a little awkward to hold when it’s buzzing like a jackhammer. I wish it had some sort of curved handle of a grip of some kind, even if that meant making it slightly larger. You’re going to feel the effects of the vibration in your palm if you use it for any length of time, and I can’t help but wonder if some won’t find this its own source of muscle pain/discomfort. Maybe not. To that end, I actually wish there was an even lower/slower setting! Even at its lowest, using this one the back of my neck felt like it was going to rattle the fillings out of my teeth. It’s a lot. Like the heat setting, there are three levels of intensity. I need to look around the app more; perhaps there’s a way to change the intensity in a setting somewhere.
All in all, it’s been great for what I’ve wanted it for with just a little bit of awkwardness in the mix. I imagine it’s something I’ll get much more used to over time, but that’s where I’m at currently. Happy to have it and definitely great to have around when you need it.

Travel-Sized Pain Reliever With Heat!

Therabody is a world renowned manufacturer of products, best known for Theragun, a tool that relieves muscle pain by progressive massage. Theragun has partnerships with over 100 professional sports teams, including the NHL, NBA, NFL, MLB & many more.
When I broke a bone in my foot in 2020, I purchased the Theragun to aid in the healing process. It is an amazing tool, though quite heavy & large. Now Therabody released the new Theragun Mini Plus, an amazingly powerful tool that is smaller & is ideal for travel, with heat!
Theragun Mini Plus offers three heat levels & three speeds, all adjustable by touch button. The heat range extends up to 131 degrees F. Studies show that heat accentuates the benefit from percussive massage by 3 fold. Press the Power button three times & you activate Travel Lock, a feature that prevents accidental activation while traveling. Press the power button three times again to unlock Travel Lock.
Theragun Mini Plus is Bluetooth enabled. The related free app is useful as a trainer & offers recovery recommendations. I love USB-C charging (cable provided), so no specialized charging cable or brick is required.
CONCLUSION:
Theragun Mini Plus is a perfectly sized travel tool that helps keep pain in check when you are on the go. It earns my highest recommendation.

Portable therapy for your tight muscles

When you have sore muscles, the Theragun is a nice tool to have in your toolbox. I have been dealing with some muscle tightness since an injury last year, and I visit the local physical therapist regularly to help loosen my muscles. In the lab, they use a professional Therabody device that is far more expensive than I want to pay for at home. I have been using a cheaper device for continued work at home, but honestly, I always felt the Therabody has much deeper pulses that are effective in a shorter time frame.
The Therabody Mini is the right device at the right time for me. In comparing the cheaper device, you can tell where the difference is. It's not about the range of speeds available; it's about how effective the pulsing is and how deeply it affects tight muscles. While the cheaper device sounds like a glorified sewing machine, the Therabody sounds like the steady beat of a single-cylinder thumper motorcycle engine—that would be the best way to describe it. Its deep, pulsating sensation eases pain and provides quick relief..
The retail box and the app come with a list of handy massage guides to help you use the therapy device in various ways. I found it helpful, but using percussion on an area where you are sore, with added heat, is an instant relief and feels like heaven.
The unit is light enough to travel with —pop it in your computer bag, for the office, or your gym bag, or in your carry-on. I took the Therabody mini on a coast-to-coast flight in economy, and I used it in the hotel on arrival. The fact that I did not have to seek out a massage therapist and still be ready for the conference floor the next day was a godsend.
There is significant value to owning a Therabody massage device. The price is right, and it's effective; the thumping to ease tight muscles is worth every penny. I am glad I picked up this device. You won't know what you are really missing until you have used one of these.

You Can't Beat the Heat!

The Theragun Mini Plus is the Theragun I wish I had sooner. I've been using a Theragun PRO for years and recently started kicking around picking up the Mini for less intense post-workout recovery massages. I'm glad I waited because the Mini Plus with heat is the total package.
PROs:
1) HEAT! - The heated percussive head that comes with the new mini plus works better than expected. The head heats up almost instantly and offers 3 levels of heat. The best part is the head is easily swappable if you chose to invest in in the other 7 heads available for this massager. Personally, I will probably pick up vibration and cold attachments to round out the system.
2) Weight - The massager has some heft to it but it's not too heavy. I found the PRO model taxing at times because of the larger size but the mini fits perfectly in the hand and isn't as bulky.
3) APP - I tink the app is great if you're getting started with Theragun or want to establish solid recovery massage routines but I personally won't use it often - unless I need guidance on a specific muscle group. It's a great to have but not a deal breaker for me. I think Theragun knew that some people don't want to break out their phone every time they use the Mini Plus because they also include some quick reference cards in the box - this is a nice touch.
4) Battery Life - Battery life was a bit of concern at first because I didn't know if the heated feature would drastically reduce run-time or not. After using the Mini Plus for a week, I can report that the run-time is excellent - you'll be able to knock out several recovery sessions without having to worry about running out of juice.
CONs:
1) Attachments - I'm aware I expressed my excitement for the attachment options above, but I am disappointed Theragun only included the heated percussive head. I think they could have easily tossed in the Micro-point or Standard Ball attachments but they must have decide one was enough.
Final Thoughts:
Huge fan of this Theragun Mini Plus with heat! After using it this past week, I don't see myself getting another Theragun without heat in the future. Heat adds so many benefits and makes your recovery massages 2x better. I'm excited to order the other attachments, especially the Cold head.

I’ve been using the Theragun Plus for a bit now and honestly, it’s a great device. The percussion massage itself is super solid – it really gets into tight muscles after long days or workouts – but the real star for me is the heat.
The built-in heat just takes everything to another level. Instead of just pounding away on sore spots, the warmth helps the muscles relax faster, so it feels more like a deep, soothing treatment than just a massage gun. It’s especially clutch for stiff neck/shoulder days or lower back tightness.

I’m a habitual runner and gym enthusiast, and I’ve owned several Therabody massage guns over the years to help relax or reactivate my muscles. You can find in their web the scientific explanation but from a user’s point of view, I haven’t found a better way to warm up before a weight session or to relax after a long run. I’m a firm believer in both the product and its positive effects on my body.
Over time, I’ve added new massage guns and attachments to my collection, keeping pace with Therabody’s product evolution. Most recently, I added the Theragun Mini Plus Portable Massage Gun to my lineup for three main reasons:
.- Portability: The unit is the perfect size for travel or to keep in a gym bag without adding noticeable weight. Its compact design also helps target hard-to-reach areas like the soles of the feet where larger guns can feel less precise. The ergonomic shape definitely improves control during massage.
.- Heat functionality: From experience, heat makes a significant difference, especially when working on smaller or more sensitive muscles. One of my older guns doesn’t include this feature, and I find myself using that one less and less.
.-Versatility: With three speed levels and three heat intensities, the Mini Plus covers all my needs and adapts easily to different recovery situations but also to the other family members, including kids, that could be aiming for something gentler.
A few additional notes:
.- The gun connects effortlessly to the Therabody app via Bluetooth. The app itself acts like a “massage coach,” guiding you through routines based on the muscle group you’re working on. Once you get used to this, it really enhances the experience.
.- My only real critique: products designed for regular use should come with more than a one-year warranty. That said, my oldest Therabody gun over five years old still works perfectly.
.- Quick recharging and long battery life make the device even more convenient.
Overall, I absolutely love and recommend this product and the Therabody brand.

Great Mini Recovery Device for Sore Muscles

The Therabody - Theragun Mini Plus is amazing with many attributes, including the following:
Pros
• The deep muscle relief is portable so you can use it on the go. It's compact size targets sore spots quickly without needing a partner.
• It's integrated heating feature soothes tight muscles, improves blood flow, and helps the percussive action feel deeper and more effective. Really feels good on sore muscles.
• Multiple speed/intensity settings let you fine-tune from gentle to intense depending on the muscle group and tolerance levels. If muscles are extremely sore, you can set it lower if needed.
• The interchangeable attachments include different heads for large muscle groups, joints, and trigger points increase versatility.
• It's handheld and portable which makes it lightweight and compact enough for gym bags, travel, or quick use at home.
• I love the cordless operation. The rechargeable battery removes cord clutter and allows full range of motion while using on various places on the body that are harder to reach.
• The percussion and heat combo can reduce soreness faster than massage or heat alone resulting in quicker recovery between sessions.
• It is easy to use with simple controls, often with LED indicators for speed and heat status.
There were only a couple negatives I could think of including:
Cons
• Can be noisy — many handheld percussion devices are louder than expected, which can be annoying in quiet spaces.
• Limited reach — smaller handheld size can make it hard to self-treat mid-back without awkward arm positions.
Overall, I really like the Theragun Mini Plus, especially the heat feature which feels great on sore or fatigued muscles. I would recommend it to anyone who is active or in sports that need recovery.

This little unit has a lot of functions and uses. I initially was going to go 4 stars, but used it again before writing this. My only drawback was the erg of it. I have one of the regular sized older model massage guns with a handle. This one having no handle holds different, but it is is a travel sized unit, so I realized I got what I asked for. It just takes getting used to holding it differently.
What I like about this unit:
Heated massage function. Didn't know it existed. Now I have the heat on anytime I use it.
Several levels of heat and several intensity modes let you dial in the level you need.
The app and programs seemed weird to me at first, but I dug in and tried them and realized just how useful the programs are in guiding you through movements, timing and intensity based on what your needs and body areas are. It is kind of like a coach guiding you through your rehab session versus just turning it on and moving it around your muscles.
Battery life so far is good. Size is good, though, as I said, the palm fit is a little different than the handle type. What would be great for this would be a clamp type wall mount so you can use it alone on body parts that are inaccessible by your own arms, such as mid or low back. Not sure if that exists on the market.
All in all good purchase. I recommend it. It definitely helps with the knots and soreness!

I want to start by saying that I suffer from chronic pain from a work related injury. I had a prior massager that was just worn out. So when I had the chance to receive this I jumped at it. And I must say I am well pleased that I did.
This Therabody Mini Plus massager comes in a well packaged box that includes the massager, the heated attachment, a USB-C charging cable (THANK YOU Therabody) and a travel pouch, which allows you to put everything in the pouch when you travel.
It comes w/ a charge, but I took the time to do a complete charge and while I waited I downloaded the Therabody App which is a MUST! Once I had it charged and had created my account I had the pleasure of using this for the first time, and I must say, it’s small, BUT it is powerful. The programs that are included w/ the App make this a game changer. I love how this is designed, in that while I use it I don’t get “hand fatigue” the shape of the Mini Plus allows you to grip it in so many ways. I love the heat, my older massager did not have that feature, and it really is noticeable heat. This Therabody Mini Plus has been a welcome addition to helping w/ my pain. I HIGHLY recommend this product

This is my second Therabody product. I’ve had a Theragun Prime for the last year or so and man what a game changer it was. But it has a large footprint, and sometimes it is nice to have a smaller massager for those times when one is headed out of town or even needs to loosen up the tight muscles that occur at work while at work. Enter the Theragun Mini Plus, which is more portable but still has the same excellent massage capabilities. It loses the changeable heads that the Prime has, but adds heat adjustments which take it to an even higher level.
The Mini Plus also has smartphone capability via Therabody’s app, but to be honest, I don’t use it. The app will talk you through different massage areas and techniques, if that is something you are looking for.
In use, the Mini Plus is a gem. After a full charge, I used it for around an hour straight on medium massage with medium to high heat and had no issues with that charge getting things done. Battery life is another definite plus here. I have no complaints about the Theragun Mini Plus and highly recommend it. It may be considered a portable massager, but don’t let it’s smaller size fool you… This unit is very capable.

After taking a long break from the gym, my first leg day left me limping everywhere. My quads, hamstrings, even calves were so sore I could barely walk down stairs. I was hopeful that the theragun mini might help me recover faster, and honestly, it exceeded my expectations.
Within a minute of turning it on, the heated attachment started to loosen up my muscles while the percussion worked deeper than I expected from such a compact device. The combination of heat and massage made a huge difference, it didn’t just mask the soreness, it actually helped my legs feel like they were releasing all that tightness built up from squats and lunges.
It’s super easy to hold and target different muscle groups, and the battery life easily lasts through several full-body sessions. I also love that it fits in my gym bag and doesn’t sound like a power tool when I use it while watching TV.
I found the included diagrams useful for targeting muscle groups, I assume that the company has put legit research into the patterns they recommend for recovery and I felt like they were effective. I wish they easily fit inside the travel case though, seems kinda silly that if left inside the little holder they arrive in, that it doesn’t neatly fit inside the travel case. A bit of an oversight, but you can cram them in there, just takes a bit more effort than it should.
I haven’t had to travel or fly yet, but I will make sure to toss it in my bag and give their travel recovery recommendations a try. It helps loosen up sore muscles so I’m pretty confident it will help loosen up cramps from sardine can sized airplanes.

Great alternative to larger more expensive models

An incredible alternative to the larger more expensive counterparts. Plenty of power, enough stall resistance, and the heat attachment is a game changer. I personally prefer the triangular shape of the full-sized theraguns, but at double the price and considerably heavier, this version is easier for travel use. Battery life could be longer when at full power and full heat (30-40 minutes) but reduce either or both for more time.
