Travel-Sized Pain Reliever With Heat!

Therabody is a world renowned manufacturer of products, best known for Theragun, a tool that relieves muscle pain by progressive massage. Theragun has partnerships with over 100 professional sports teams, including the NHL, NBA, NFL, MLB & many more.
When I broke a bone in my foot in 2020, I purchased the Theragun to aid in the healing process. It is an amazing tool, though quite heavy & large. Now Therabody released the new Theragun Mini Plus, an amazingly powerful tool that is smaller & is ideal for travel, with heat!
Theragun Mini Plus offers three heat levels & three speeds, all adjustable by touch button. The heat range extends up to 131 degrees F. Studies show that heat accentuates the benefit from percussive massage by 3 fold. Press the Power button three times & you activate Travel Lock, a feature that prevents accidental activation while traveling. Press the power button three times again to unlock Travel Lock.
Theragun Mini Plus is Bluetooth enabled. The related free app is useful as a trainer & offers recovery recommendations. I love USB-C charging (cable provided), so no specialized charging cable or brick is required.
CONCLUSION:
Theragun Mini Plus is a perfectly sized travel tool that helps keep pain in check when you are on the go. It earns my highest recommendation.

As luck (good and bad) would have it I pulled a hamstring playing soccer the day before this was to ship to my house. And I’ll begin by saying I was very grateful at the timing and the Therabody has helped immensely at easing the pain in my leg. So, if that’s what you’re looking for - and really that’s all I want out of a massaging device like this - then mission accomplished. If, like me, you’re no longer a spring chicken and have soreness after exercising, then this is a relatively low-cost option to aid in the relief of pretty routine muscle pains. Obviously, if you’ve got something more going on you should ask a doctor or chiropractor about this kind of thing.
While I don’t (yet) regularly need something as complex as this device, I am impressed by the presentation of it all. The packaging is nice, the device itself is as sturdy as a rock, and the app has a LOT going on with a pretty intuitive use interface. Most importantly, this thing is hefty and feels very well made. It is built to be in motion and with that comes the risk of things breaking, but it certainly doesn’t *feel* like there’s any danger of the theragun falling apart or breaking anytime soon. It’s heavy and it’s powerful. The sides are grippy and the massage “head” is soft-ish and gets quite warm. Again, if you’re looking for a simple, quick way to get some muscle relief this is definitely more convenient and affordable (for me) than going to a masseuse. The app has a ton of options to target specific places, and also is way more connected to exercise than I realized. Connecting it to my Apple Health data immediately pulled up suggestions for a routine to do after my regular HIIT workouts. That’s pretty cool. The packaging also includes these little bookmark shaped pieces of sturdy paper with specific massage suggestions that can be viewed in the app for more detail. Pairing is simple, and it’s nice to know that if there are some future updates that improve things it’ll be easy enough to download and install (presumably). A soft carrying case is included. The foam inside isn’t the best, but it shows you additional attachment options available for purchase and what they are best suited for. I don’t see myself buying any of these anytime soon, but I do like that this info is just printed on the inside of the carrying case in the event I ever decide I need one. I’ll know exactly where to look.
What don’t I like? Well, the app clearly wants to be your one stop shop for all things fitness tracking and… I’m just not sure anyone is going to do that. Does anyone do that? I suppose they might, but it seems like an unnecessary investment of resources on Therabody’s part and the result is a cluttered app experience. I’ve definitely seen worse, but again - I’m just not going to track my workouts or exercise in this app. There are other, more dedicated options for those things.
And then there’s the device itself. It’s easy to pick up and it’s compact, but I also find the shape a little awkward to hold when it’s buzzing like a jackhammer. I wish it had some sort of curved handle of a grip of some kind, even if that meant making it slightly larger. You’re going to feel the effects of the vibration in your palm if you use it for any length of time, and I can’t help but wonder if some won’t find this its own source of muscle pain/discomfort. Maybe not. To that end, I actually wish there was an even lower/slower setting! Even at its lowest, using this one the back of my neck felt like it was going to rattle the fillings out of my teeth. It’s a lot. Like the heat setting, there are three levels of intensity. I need to look around the app more; perhaps there’s a way to change the intensity in a setting somewhere.
All in all, it’s been great for what I’ve wanted it for with just a little bit of awkwardness in the mix. I imagine it’s something I’ll get much more used to over time, but that’s where I’m at currently. Happy to have it and definitely great to have around when you need it.

First things first this gun or handheld massager whatever it is is the beginning and the end of my life. I have got to get the rest of them and I have got to own them all. I started with no pun intended with this small one. Just kind of get a vibe and a feel for it. The coolest thing is it comes with a traveling case and shows you how all of the attachments work and how they best work. That includes a little booklet that comes with a list of ideas, what to do, how to massage so you don't hurt yourself for someone else. I'm glad my children are at the reading age now and my daughter is an aspiring nurse at the age of 13 so she's having the most fun with this. I'm definitely enjoying it as the owner and I'm using it on her too so she can actually feel and get a hold of the benefit. It is perfectly weighted, easy to charge and has amazing dials on the left side there. There's one to cut it on and off in three variational speeds and then the other one is to apply heat also in three variational levels. If you don't own something like this or think that you might not need this in your life, think again because you definitely need this in your life. It's easy to use even on yourself. I just have the fortunate pleasure of having people around me to use it on me and get places like my upper back and such. Don't think about it. Just buy it.

You Can't Beat the Heat!

The Theragun Mini Plus is the Theragun I wish I had sooner. I've been using a Theragun PRO for years and recently started kicking around picking up the Mini for less intense post-workout recovery massages. I'm glad I waited because the Mini Plus with heat is the total package.
PROs:
1) HEAT! - The heated percussive head that comes with the new mini plus works better than expected. The head heats up almost instantly and offers 3 levels of heat. The best part is the head is easily swappable if you chose to invest in in the other 7 heads available for this massager. Personally, I will probably pick up vibration and cold attachments to round out the system.
2) Weight - The massager has some heft to it but it's not too heavy. I found the PRO model taxing at times because of the larger size but the mini fits perfectly in the hand and isn't as bulky.
3) APP - I tink the app is great if you're getting started with Theragun or want to establish solid recovery massage routines but I personally won't use it often - unless I need guidance on a specific muscle group. It's a great to have but not a deal breaker for me. I think Theragun knew that some people don't want to break out their phone every time they use the Mini Plus because they also include some quick reference cards in the box - this is a nice touch.
4) Battery Life - Battery life was a bit of concern at first because I didn't know if the heated feature would drastically reduce run-time or not. After using the Mini Plus for a week, I can report that the run-time is excellent - you'll be able to knock out several recovery sessions without having to worry about running out of juice.
CONs:
1) Attachments - I'm aware I expressed my excitement for the attachment options above, but I am disappointed Theragun only included the heated percussive head. I think they could have easily tossed in the Micro-point or Standard Ball attachments but they must have decide one was enough.
Final Thoughts:
Huge fan of this Theragun Mini Plus with heat! After using it this past week, I don't see myself getting another Theragun without heat in the future. Heat adds so many benefits and makes your recovery massages 2x better. I'm excited to order the other attachments, especially the Cold head.

Portable therapy for your tight muscles

When you have sore muscles, the Theragun is a nice tool to have in your toolbox. I have been dealing with some muscle tightness since an injury last year, and I visit the local physical therapist regularly to help loosen my muscles. In the lab, they use a professional Therabody device that is far more expensive than I want to pay for at home. I have been using a cheaper device for continued work at home, but honestly, I always felt the Therabody has much deeper pulses that are effective in a shorter time frame.
The Therabody Mini is the right device at the right time for me. In comparing the cheaper device, you can tell where the difference is. It's not about the range of speeds available; it's about how effective the pulsing is and how deeply it affects tight muscles. While the cheaper device sounds like a glorified sewing machine, the Therabody sounds like the steady beat of a single-cylinder thumper motorcycle engine—that would be the best way to describe it. Its deep, pulsating sensation eases pain and provides quick relief..
The retail box and the app come with a list of handy massage guides to help you use the therapy device in various ways. I found it helpful, but using percussion on an area where you are sore, with added heat, is an instant relief and feels like heaven.
The unit is light enough to travel with —pop it in your computer bag, for the office, or your gym bag, or in your carry-on. I took the Therabody mini on a coast-to-coast flight in economy, and I used it in the hotel on arrival. The fact that I did not have to seek out a massage therapist and still be ready for the conference floor the next day was a godsend.
There is significant value to owning a Therabody massage device. The price is right, and it's effective; the thumping to ease tight muscles is worth every penny. I am glad I picked up this device. You won't know what you are really missing until you have used one of these.

Loving the Heat!

The Therabody - Theragun Mini Plus - Portable Massage Gun with Heat is an amazing therapy tool to have. It has become part of my pre and post workout routine. I find that if I use it on my calves and IT band (outer side of the thighs), I have such a productive and energized workout. I am someone who always feels like my calves are tight and that often makes me feel sluggish when it comes to tackling a workout or tasks around the home. I can spend 2-3 minutes on each leg prior to a workout and it makes a huge difference. Post workout, I do the same, and it feels like it hastens recovery process.
The heated option is my favorite part of this device. It feels AMAZING to crank that heat up to the 3rd level and go to town on my tight, aching muscles and arthritic joints. I am feeling a lot if improvement on my shoulder and neck that have chronic pain. I also have a partial tear in my plantar fascia that is experiencing improvement as well.
The run time on my unit, on high intensity and high heat, runs for an impressive hour and 10 minutes. Charging time is between 3-4 hours. I usually charge it overnight now as part my routine. The booklet with he "unit warnings" does not recommend over charging by more than 1 hour, so I should rethink that. The unit gives about a 10 minute warning of run time left by turning the power button light from blue to red. You then get about 2-3 minutes warning by it blinking red.
The unit has the ability to connect to the manufacturer's app. I didn't think I would find much value in that, but I tried it for the sake of reviewing it. It was easy to set up and pair the massager. The routines were not lengthy and did have a good result. I really liked the "tech neck" routine. The stretch recommended during the program made a difference when combined with the massage. I did notice the battery time was vastly reduced when using the app. However, it is worth doing to get ideas of how to effectively massage an area in a short amount of time. The package includes small cards with diagrams on how to massage upper body, lower body, and full body for warm up and recovery. That is a very nice addition for people who don't want to bother with the app.
There are some contraindications for use, such as being epileptic, history of seizures, has a pace maker, arteriosclerosis, thrombosis, or implants in the body region being treated.
The carrying case is good quality and the charging cord has a nice and thick cord to easily tell it apart from my other generic C-port chargers. It also comes with the strap of velcro to wrap up the cord neatly.
In conclusion, this new therapy tool has made a huge difference in how my muscles feel. I have 2 other versions of this type of equipment and the heated option, along with the long battery life, has bumped it to the top position as my favorite therapy gun of choice.

Percussion massagers are a must for life in general. From sports warm-up, to post workout recovery, to injury repairs.
Theragun mini plus with heat is perfect for those hard to get spots and portability.
Setup is super simple. First charge via USB c. Power on and connect to your phone using the app.... And you are in.
The app is nice as it helps with various routines and uses for the Theragun. It helps you optimize your recovery and workout regimen.
Use is super simple. On/Off button and heat control.
The heat really helps with those lactic acid build ups so great feature.
There are 3 settings for strength. The high setting is really strong so just be aware of that.
The heat feature is really nice. This puppy gets really hot fast. So just be aware of that too.
The best part of the Mini is that it is small. I can put it in a lot of spots and not have fatigue from holding the device. I can also take it to work or to the gym etc and not have to pull a huge device out.
Overall appearance is nice. Matt black. Comes with carrying case.
Also it is compatible with other heads you can buy or share from other Theraguns if you have another device.
Also this Mini is compatible with the Thera app. Which is a nice touch. Has different coaching guides at your disposal.
All good.
If you are a serious athlete or just want a percussion gun for well being. Look no further this a great performer and will not let you down.

The Theragun Mini Plus is a great little massage gun that’s clearly optimized for travel.
This device is ready to use right out of the box. There’s no setup required, and mine was mostly charged when I opened it. The attachment comes pre-installed, so the Mini is good to go as soon as you unzip the case. Speaking of the case, it’s made of a silky microfiber material that feels great and neatly holds the charging cable.
Power-wise, this device offers plenty of intensity, even on the lowest setting. The heated attachment warms up extremely quickly and reaches full temperature in about a minute. I’ve owned more massage guns than I can count over the years, and one thing that really stands out with this one is how smooth the percussive motion is. Other massage guns I’ve used can feel a bit jerky, and at the wrong distance it can feel more like being punched than massaged. This one stays comfortable at almost any distance or angle, which makes it great for self-use.
This is exactly what I was looking for because it’s TSA-compliant and I travel for work often. I love knowing I can toss this in my bag and have it available after long days or meetings.
It’s generally comfortable to hold, but the base is a little thick for my hands to grip securely in certain positions. I feel like a deeper indentation, slimmer base or even some added texture could really help. The thickness also makes it a bit harder to reach certain spots while really leaning into it. Interestingly, my wife made the exact same comment about it being difficult to hold while I was writing this review, so I know it’s not just me. We both have smaller hands, but it’s still something worth noting.
Overall, I think it’s a solid massage gun and it has more power than I’ll ever need. The heat feature is a great addition, and I’m looking forward to trying out some of the other attachments.

Great massager. I love the heat and the size makes it is so easy to use. It is wonderful for travel and after session at the gym. I have used it for better recovery after achy muscles. I have trouble staying asleep and the gentle massage (on low speed) with the heat, helps me get back to sleep.

Therabody - Theragun Mini Plus - Portable Massage Gun with Heat - Black. I am so happy with my new mini messager I have a full size one & they both have the same amount of power, The Theragun mini plus I find myself reaching for Everytime now. At first I felt like the shape to hold it was going to be hard but not at all super comfortable to hold, it has three power adjustments depending on how much power you want and it also has three heat setting. The heat and power on medium has been amazing on my lower back, shoulders, neck & forearms. I can easily do my own my own message except my lower back of course. It comes with a small storage zipper bag with a charging cord USB-C, it hold a long charge, Ive only charged it once snince I got it and it’s still going. In the case it has four small elastic pockets to store other attachments and charging cord. I wished it came with other attachments for the price but it only comes with the heated attachment. I went to their online website and will be buying a couple other attachments which I’m excited about getting especially the cold message attachment. You can download their app. It shows you the attachment to use for different body parts I found very useful and how much time you should spend on different body parts. This fits perfectly in my luggage my new travel buddy after long meeting of sitting and typing on a laptop all day. I highly recommend. I gave four stars only because for the price I feel that it should come with more then one attachment that my only complaint.

I’ve been using the Theragun Plus for a bit now and honestly, it’s a great device. The percussion massage itself is super solid – it really gets into tight muscles after long days or workouts – but the real star for me is the heat.
The built-in heat just takes everything to another level. Instead of just pounding away on sore spots, the warmth helps the muscles relax faster, so it feels more like a deep, soothing treatment than just a massage gun. It’s especially clutch for stiff neck/shoulder days or lower back tightness.
