I have spent the past 2 days putting this laptop through it's paces. The performance of the 6th-gen i5 6200U processor is relatively good. It tends to lag when multiple operations are performed at once. I tested this by ripping/burning a DVD, surfing the internet and also mirroring the screen onto my 60" TV at the same time. A little sluggish to perform all 3 tasks at once, but if I were to cut one of these out the laptop sped up tremendously. I am very impressed with the reception of the built-in WiFi and also the touch screen on this model. The battery life is more than acceptable for the size of the screen and the tasks I have performed. I have averaged 5+ hours on a single charge while performing many battery draining operations. There are a couple of negatives that I have noticed with this model. The first is these is not a back-lit keyboard. This option is a deal-breaker for me as my other Ultrabook has a back-lit keyboard and makes a world of difference for using the laptop while sitting anywhere in the evening with low to no light. The other drawback is that the only position you can use this computer in without it hurting is at a desk while sitting in a chair (and only if you are typing at the right angle. I say this because the plastic edges around the base of the laptop and keyboard are "sharp". These edges tend to dig into your wrists and cause discomfort with more than 10 minutes of use if you use it for it's intended purpose (a true "lap top" computer). Overall the performance of the this model laptop is above average at this price point. The processor handles multiple tasks well and if you don't overload it, they are performed fairly quickly. The touch-screen is also very responsive. Although this is not a full HD screen, it does present a very nice 720P picture if the settings are tweaked a bit. The build quality is the reason I can only manage 3 stars. The edges are much less refined than even a ~$400 range laptop and the whole outfit seems to be made of the cheapest and flimsiest plastic that Toshiba could muster up. Just the act of the flipping the screen up feels as if it may break off at any moment. The plastic bezel and hinges flex more than body builder on steroids but with none of the confidence inspiring strength involved that you would expect in a $700+ machine that would typically implement some aluminum or composite pieces. As for myself, I will more than likely be returning this machine because I am a perfectionist when it comes to my technology and this one does not do much to inspire me. I am also a cheapskate (I only buy when I find deals) with almost everything I purchase and for the price paid I feel that this laptop is priced $200-250 too high considering everything I have outlined.

I looked at a few options for a computer, I still wanted a cd drive and this model had it, a bonus was the touch screen, it would have been great if the screen went all the way back but it doesn't but that is the only con. It is a great, computer over all.

I love my new computer. No other computer compares in its price range. I would have had to spend almost double to get the same features. The built in read/write CD/DVD burner is a standard feature, which is often not included from other manufacturers. My computer is very fast. The dual processor accommodates multiple programs at the same time without locking up. It is light weight, thin, and travels with ease. I also enjoy the touch screen feature. The sound bar is quite good for a lap top. I highly recommend this product.

This computer fits into my lifestyle perfectly. It's easy to use & with the numeric keypad, working with numbers is a breeze. It's fast and has great graphics. This is one of the few touch style computers that also has a CD drive in it, which was a factor in why I chose this one. Also, the battery life is excellent!

I've been using Toshiba Satellites for years now and wasn't disappointed with this latest offering. The hard drive has an ample amount of space (1 TB) and, along with the on-board memory, it boots up more quickly than any unit I've ever owned and runs quite smoothly too. The Harman-Kardon speakers are a step above the Skullcandy ones on lower-end models; if you plan to use your laptop at all for audio purposes, having something like this is a must. Loud, clear, and full of dynamics. The touchscreen capability is simply another added bonus. I'm still very pleased with this purchase.

It's extremely study and fast. Even after I had it for a long time. Windows 10 is a bit frustrating as it won't let me use a second account on this laptop but it has a LOT of memory. Touch screen is great and it's very easy to use. I dropped it a couple of times and nothing is broken.

I got this for my daughter for her senior year to help with projects. Loaded it with Microsoft programs. She also wanted a laptop that could handle gaming. For the price this was the best option. Also had the newer processor 6th Gen.

I was using an old laptop with Windows Vista. My computer was 15 yrs old so I figured it was time for a new one. Toshiba had good reviews. It is fast and has plenty of memory. Battery life is also good. The price was good also.

Let's begin that I'm not a computer Geek. I has several issues connecting to the internet or slow internet speeds and things seem to just stall when loading. I wiped out the computer and stated again. Still same issues. I brought to Geek Squad and they advise nothing was wrong however I could show them the delays when I first brought it in. Long story short it might have been the wifi card. I brought it back and all is good. I barely use the computer since I just use my work laptop for most things. Windows 10 is challenging as well if you are not use to it.

This product has handled my gaming and other tasks with no problems. Boots up quick has the touch screen also. Very happy with product.

I bought this laptop because I'm going back to school this fall for a Programing degree. For that reason I haven't played with it too much; I find it's all too tempting to put games on a new computer despite my desire to keep it a strictly 'work' laptop. What I have found while playing around with it, & getting used to a touchscreen laptop, is that I got the 100% CPU usage error almost immediately after downloading Google Chrome. I ended up clean installing Windows 10, which took 5 hours, & all I had put on the computer was the internet browser. I have owned & loved Toshiba laptops in the past so I'm pretty sure the error wasn't their fault. I'm also pretty sure it was a Windows 10 problem because my custom built desktop has been stuck in a reboot loop, for over 2 weeks now, after a Windows 10 critical update. The clean install seems to have corrected the CPU error, & isn't really nessisary, but I wanted to get ride of the bloatware at the same it. Because of that & my past history with Toshiba laptops I would still recommend this laptop.

Have been using this for a month and very pleased. Starts quickly and good battery life. Really like the Windows 10 with the touch screen. Turned the mouse pad off, too sensitive and kept accidentally hitting it while typing.

I couldn't be happier with my my touch screen laptop. With an ample amount of memory, and an Intel Core i5 processor, it's fast and responsive. There was a learning curve with windows 10, as with anything new, but it was worth it.

The laptop is great. But Windows 10 has dispensed with Easy Transfer, so you can't get your stuff off your old laptop without a new application (that didn't work for me). Still... 8 gigs of RAM and a touch screen... AND a TB of storage... what's not to like?

Basic laptop that's current for today's internet size load and needed speed. Webcam, dvdburner/rom the keyboard's nice though the large letters makes me feel a little senior but that's fine. A little slow sometimes when loading websites. Hooked up with hdmi cord to tv and streaming with Netflix and YouTube looks really, really nice. Haven't used the apps on Windows 10. Gotten used to the redesign yet again. Miss a lot of the prior features like setting desktop to classic mode. Have some eye sight issues from screen brightness while the darker contrast options does help it does look awakard with all other different colors in those modes.

I love this computer, it is so easy to use, it makes my life so much easier since I am a student and all. I wouldn't have passed my classes without this laptop and I am so happy I purchased it. Geek Squad and the team at Best Buy really came through for me and I thank you so much for everything you all did for me in setting me up with this Toshiba laptop. Thank you again!! I recommend this to anyone who wants a reliable computer, easy to use and hassle free. Wicked fast and with the touch screen, it is just that more amazing!!!

It's a good overall laptop. Touchscreen works great for the teens and kids. It's light weight and has decent speed.

It is a good computer, is fast and reliable. It has a good processor and memory ram. Good choice for the price
