Absolute best thing one can purchase from BestBuy!

I loved the fact that I could take my car up there, & they’d install my ALRDY pre-owned speakers (that I did NOT purchase from them) & GET MY CAR’S AUDIO SYSTEM WIRED UP, PROFESSIONALLY, SO AS NOT TO SHOW ANY WIRES THAT RAN TO MY TRUNK. I never had ANY trouble out of it, EVER, from the day I got it done, until the day I wrecked my car. *SAD DAY* but even if I were to have ONLY used the membership to have my system professionally installed in my Dodge Charger, THAT, ALONE, would have been worth it in itself! However, it didn’t stop there. I also used it to have my laptops repaired at a discounted rate, and there was even the option to have someone come out and install stuff at my home, such as TV mounts, surroundsound, etc. Totally, ABSOLUTELY worth the purchase of said membership! No regrets!

No brainer membership......

This is my 3rd year of being a member and have practically done everything in my home. The Geek squad has come and done several projects at my home from home theater installation,ring install,tv mounting,remote control programming,appliance installs, etc... This saves you so much money and you get expert service.... It's a no brainer if you have more than one or two tech related things to do at your home....

Had an unusual hiccup!

I bought two Honeywell smart thermostats and ordered installation with the purchase. When the tech came he would only install one until I paid him extra to install the second one. My job had been subcontracted away from Geek. To get the second one installed I had to give the tech’s boss my credit card and she charged double what I paid for the first installed thermostat. I will take my second receipt to Best Buy and see if my original purchase of “two units and installation” meant “two units, but we’re only hooking up one”

The discounts on in-home services, chat on-line and even over the phone are really helpful. Allows me to set up my house the way I want it. I liked saving on my protection plan.

I appreciate BB Tech Support

I have used my Tech Support with BB for over 3+ years. They’ve installed TV’s, projectors, big screens, sound systems… all through my house.

LONG LONG WAIT - NOT THE SERVICE IT USED TO BE

I am currently online just waiting to chat, as of right now, 1 hour and counting just for them to connect. Then they run all of the routine tests and put you in another queue to wait God knows how much longer, sometimes 11-12 hours. Geek Squad has become the worst service by far over the last few years. They also have much less knowledgeable techs and have to pass you on to the next level. I am definitely looking for a new service when my membership is up.

Do not recommend, unless you have money to burn.

No service for early access purchase for ps5 console. No honoring totaltech exclusive purchase offer of ps5 console either. Wasn't allowed to purchase even though I was a totaltech member. Arrived at same situation several times on different days.

Geek Squad had not idea!!

I paid for geek squad protection and service and the headset which was over $400.00 to which I had to hire outside help. Seems ridiculous when this was an easy fix for someone who just dabbles in computers and electronic repairs.

BEST WARRANTY --- ON MOST PRODUCTS!

I BUY A LOT OF DIFFERENT THINGS AT BEST BUY & if it cost me over $200, I got the extended warranty. BUT NOW, BEST BUY CAME OUT WITH A NEW AND BETTER WARRANTY CALLED "TOTAL TECH". HERE'S WHAT MAKES THIS SO MUCH BETTER: PLANNING TO MAKE ANY MAJOR PURCHASES? It's most likely covered by the Total Tech Warranty! You pay for this warranty ONCE A YEAR---THEN WHEN YOU BUY a product from Best Buy, it's most likely covered--automatically with your TOTAL TECH WARRANTY! New Computer, Cell Phone, TV, Appliances, Canon, Nikon, & other cameras, lenses, X-Box, printers, it is all covered automatically with your TOTAL TECH WARRANTY! You can go in & buy all these items mentioned BUT INSTEAD OF BUYING A NEW WARRANTY FOR EACH PRODUCT, IT IS ALL COVERED UNDER your TOTAL TECH WARRANTY! I am buying a new Ring Doorbell & Flood light. Under this TOTAL TECH WARRANTY! My installation cost is A LOT cheaper (over 70%) & it is all wired, not battery, and covered under the TOTAL TECH WARRANTY! Now, I have the TOTAL TECH WARRANTY & if I have an issue, it's covered at Best Buy and taken care of NOW, IF YOU MAKE ANY MAJOR PURCHASE--I VERY HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU GET THE TOTAL TECH WARRANTY. IT'S WORTH IT. ASK ABOUT IT WHEN IN THE STORE. I WAS SHOCKED AT HOW MUCH THIS COVERS. The old warranty used to be based on how much the product cost. NOW, this TOTAL TECH WARRANTY covers all major purchases and much, much, more! I've got it and used it, and it's worth it! Good luck!

I have utilized their services several times,and always with good results. The Geek Squad people I have worked with have been super competent and knowledgeable even to spending more time on a situation than I expected. At one point I had an iPad/computer problem that neither Apple nor a highly regarded and recommended tech repair person could solve. The Apple Genius bar gave up and gave me two online sources suggesting that I try to fix it. I then did what should have been done at the outset and and brought it and another involved device into Best Buy. The tech who waited on me spent 45-60 minutes and had both devices up and running. It was very complex but he knew what yo do Cost? $00. The Total Tech people have been to the house for TV, Ring iand more. Money well spent.

He is very knowledgeable and polite. The first time he came to the office to fix a "computer hid my files" problem and saved me from a crisis. At that time he suggested that I get a computer with a SSD because mine was working to hard. The second time, he was able to set up my new laptop and transfer files. I was so thankful for the service and it didn't take me days to do it myself. I am grateful that he was able to come to my office, which is huge to me because I am only in the office 4 hours a day. It would take me a whole day to take my computers into Best Buy. I am sorry that we will be losing the free service but will hopefully be able to afford in office service in the future.

He did a bunch of stuff on my new laptop including installing the game Ark: Survivor Evolved, which was my one reason for buying the machine. He spent a considerable amount of time with me, answering questions and making sure everything was on the new machine (the anti-virus, etc). But, when he left, it wasn't finished. I finished them because I can. I'm not sure the next person could. Windows wasn't fully updated and a bunch of drivers were still needed. Also, we thought the printer was working when he left because we were able to print out a test page. Unfortunately, the only thing we can get it to print is a test page - test pages - several of them. Nothing we send to the printer actually prints. We don't know why it prints the test pages, we are not asking for them. I will call as soon as I'm finished fixing the identity theft we have going on. :( We don't want Gabriel to get into trouble over this, just make sure he's actually done before he leaves.

Smart technicians mean fewer repeating problems

Not only have we bought all of our major appliances from Best Buy but we increasingly buy our Apple products from Best Buy as well because of Geek Squad support. And this is even though our technology is all Apple and Best Buy has yet to have a regularly available Apple products guru. We use both the ability to make appointments for a technician to come to our home and for us to go to the store with some problem. A couple of success stories: Our network failed repeatedly even with Spectrum technicians saying they fixed the problem. But the Geek Squad technician fixed our network by suggesting a different solution than Spectrum. It worked so well we have no more problems. Recently an appliance technician showed us a feature on our refrigerator that has saved us all kinds of problems with our freezer. He was worth his weight in gems! Here's the thing we like best: Geek Squad technicians always--yes, always--explains how we might get better use out of that computer or appliance. Yes, sometimes we spend money--on their recommendation. But no regrets here. All fixes have worked and ended any further need for assistance.

Totally love Total Tech

My daughter in grad school could use it, and I could use it with mine. Since she has many technical questions and sometimes problems in order to get her grad school work done, it was a relief that she had a friendly, knowledgeable staff to assist her. As a senior citizen for whom technology is sometimes frustrating, it has been wonderful to have a dependable, friendly, and efficient pre-paid help center so I didn't have to worry about what it might cost to get a question answered or something fixed. When purchasing a new dishwasher, washer and dryer, and several tv's, I was pleasantly surprised to see the helpful Total Tech member discounts on extended warranties and the waiver of delivery fees on some products. I was also happy with the Total Tech discount on the purchase of Office 365 that was available when I purchased Total Tech service and when I renewed at the end of the year. Having used a small, independent computer repair company several years ago and being discouraged by both how long it took and how much it cost, my experience with Best Buy's Total Tech membership has been far better in every way. I highly recommend it.
