Sam was professional, personal, interesting and did an incredible job calibrating our new 72’ TV. He explained in easy terms what it was he wears doing and what I was to expect. Later that’s evening when my husband and I sat down to watch TV, he said, without knowing this had happneded that day, “WOW! What happened to the TV? It looks amazing!”. Natural colors and a stunning picture. Thank you to Sam for his professionalism and good nature.

The geek squad was great. very patient and helpful in explaining everything, all of the buttons how to use the harmony remote. they even set up a few of the items I asked for on the harmony. Theyrotated the tv to my liking and the took the old television out and told me to make sure I kept the stand for future use.

I hope someone sees this and reaches out to rectify this problem.
Technician was very polite, amazingly personable. Problem is, Geek Squad may be used to people not being able to interpret the results of the calibration, but I can and this is totally unacceptable. My order number - BBY01-805630718560
#1. Technician did not view any content on T.V. to evaluate calibration after the fact. Just walked away.
#2. I have the technician's email and phone# and was told to call for any Q's or issues, but technician does not respond. Why did he give me this contact info then?
#3. Geek Squad has scheduled me a re-calibration 2 weeks from now. and is attempting to charge me another $250 for t.v. calibration. *What?* I've already paid for the service, why do I have to pay again to actually have the job done correctly?
My t.v. has such an irregular green tint to everything it's unwatchable but I need to wait 2 WEEKS to have this fixed??? That's Total Tech Support Best Buy?
#4 $250 calibration done in 90 minutes with no demo afterwards? No checking your own work?
#5. Obviously the technician can only work with the equipment he has at hand. My assumption is the Spectra-cal colorimeter needs to be re-calibrated itself. This is recommended by the manufacturer to be done once a year.
Evidently, Best Buy is offering a service with faulty tools. Unbelievable. (Can't blame the technician for this but obviously should have known there was a problem when he did the initial Pre-Calibration scan.
I cannot find a t.v. that has been calibrated with results online that has as bad of a DeltaE 2000 or Gamma score so low for a dark room environment. (My gamma is calibrated to 2.02 for a dark room? Wow. A dE2000 under 3 is acceptable. Mine is over 10! ISF certified technicians or the ISF themselves would be appalled and not stand behind this work).
#6. I cannot reach anyone who is willing to send a technician out in a timely manner to rectify the problem. That is what I paid for. Geek Squad Total Support. Now, I'm supposed to have a faulty calibration performed and then accept that Geek Squad will make no effort to fix the problem they created?
I'm baffled.

I was skeptical at first whether or not I would see a discernible difference in picture quality. And to my genuine surprise I was very much impressed with how much better my Samsung Q90T looked after the calibration was implemented. Great job by the geek squad for making me a true believer.

‘Steve’ came for a calibration and previously came to install a new modem. He was exceptionally courteous, and knowledgeable! Also, very thorough! I will ask for him whenever I need another Geek Squad installation!
Thank you for sending him!

I was not happy with the way my movies looked while it was playing. Some of the color seem a bit off and after geek squad calibrated it, it made a big difference. They also have gave me a report of my settings before and after they setted it correctly.

These days it is really hard to find a good review. I try to research a topic and read as much on it as I can find and then do comparison reviews on the site then make a decision, but a lot of times that is really hard to do because of the negatives you read and have to decipher . We purchased the Samsung 8700 Curved and wow what a TV!! it has been impressive since we have taken it out of the box. How could you have a TV like this and not want the most out of it?? CNET and AVS forums highly suggest having your tv calibrated as the manufactures over saturate the picture out of the box which strains the TV an lessens the overall life, So why wouldn't you after an investment like this go ahead and do this. Then it was off to the reviews on Best Buy and reading through the hit and misses, decided to go ahead and do it and this couldn't have been a more pleasant experience made the apt received a call the next day Geek Squad was professional and friendly and explained ever step made sure we understood what was going on and had a clear understanding of the whole process. Now the picture we have is a true to life as looking through a window. it is incredible what we was missing in true color I strongly recommend having this performed on your tv. Now it is true the brightness is turned down, but so much more is gained in the overall picture, I am very satisfied we had this done. Very satisfied with exceptional service we received from Geek Squad!!

I have used the Geek Squad Calibration on several of my tv's, and the last was 2012. (Panasonic Plasma) There are usually components of the television that a normal user cannot access, which is one of the main reasons I would always choose to have my sets calibrated.
However, with the new Sony 4K television I just had recently calibrated this was not the case! The Geek Squad tech was great & considerate to my questions. However I guess the blame falls on me for lack of research about my particular TV.
I had the UHDTV close to perfect dynamic range by my own settings. (I'm a bit of nerd when it comes to setting up a television.)
So because this TV had no internal settings that I could not access myself this calibration was kind of a disappointment to me, due to the fact that I had already had it calibrated to my liking by myself....
Normally this is a wonderful service & this is no reflection on the quality of work that's associated with Geek Squad and their TV calibrations. I've still had no complaints about the service that they provide other than its about $100 to much for the time spent & what is actually done to calibrate a television.
I will in the future be more proactive in learning about what interfaces of the TV can be accessed without having the proper equipment....

Night and day difference!

I live in Raleigh, NC and had this service performed by one of the Geek Squad agents.
He showed up on time and was very courteous. He calibrated both the 2D and the 3D picture on my Sony 46" HX series TV (a magnolia home theater product).
He was describing what he was doing and why he was doing it as he proceeded with the calibration as well as the equipment involved and thoroughly explained each step of the way as well as the benefit.
When he was done he sent me an email with a report of the work he had performed and some graphs for the "before" and "after" settings on my TV, you can clearly see the difference on the graphs (the hue, color temperature, RGB balance, etc.) but most importantly when I'm watching TV, I can tell the difference and even my wife (who sometimes claims can't tell the difference between the HD and the SD channels) complimented the colors on the TV and how "real" they looked.
To anyone reading this, and ISF certified calibration (which by the way, the geek squad agent that performed my service was ISF certified) in the area will be about 3 or 4 hundred bucks so Best Buy at $250 is definitely a bargain.
I wouldn't recommend this service on your 300 dollar RCA or Westinghouse TV but if you have a nice set and you want to get the best picture out of it this is definitely something you should consider.
It is just AMAZING, the quality of the picture, the life-like colors, the amount of detail that you can see with adequate contrast, it really brings out so much more of the image and things you didn't even realize you were missing.

Improved Picture Accuracy

I had to use my OLED65C8PUA for one month before calibration. After the calibration was done, the accuracy of the picture was improved dramatically. I was watching Wimbledon 2018, and the green color of the grass court didn't look real before calibration while after calibration it looked natural.
Important Point 1: Geek Squad applied the calibration to ALL my inputs. Now I have calibration for the things that I use including cable, 4K Blu-Ray Player, and YouTube.
Important Point 2: Geek Squad provided calibration for three Picture Mode settings including ISF Expert Dark Room, ISF Expert Bright Room, Technicolor Expert. Geed Squad said that the "Technicolor Expert" setting is for a room with dim light (i.e., room light in between dark and bright). Thus, I'm using the "Technicolor Expert" setting.
In conclusion, I definitely recommend, a TV calibration to get accurate picture.

Great calibration, horrible scheduling

My tech did a great job once on site improving my TV picture, and explained everything thru the process. Scheduling the appointment was a horrible experience. I called, set date and arrival timeframe. Initially the Gerk Squad could not find my order. Once found, set the date and service window. Date and time came and went. No tech, no info. Call store, talk to manager, tells me something must be wrong. Geek squad manager will call right back. 2 days later I get call. The explanation was that the tech scheduled did not have skill set to do the work??? Duh, should that be checked before scheduling? Even so, no call, text, or email that my appt was not going to happen. Sorta of like handing off Pizza Delivery to someone that doesn't drive. Frustrating, but the onsite tech did a great job. Problems more w BB managers and follow up. Maybe they don't have the "skill set" for good customer service.

Calibrate Your New TV!!!

This is my 3rd TV calibration serv. from GS. All 3 calib. serv. enhanced & improved the pictures dramatically. How many consumers don't know about this? Why is Best Buy discontinuing this service? Why do manufactures fail to include a Calibration option on the set? When guests see my TV they can't believe the picture...depth & clarity vivid! The loss of this service from Best Buy needs to be reconsidered. Advertised, promoted & included in set up and extended warranty options. What's the real reason??

My first time getting a tv calibrated. I'll be honest, I don't think it's for everyone. This is kind of an explanation that I've heard: If you like it bright and vibrant, then you may not like the calibration. If you like colors that are more true, then you might prefer the standard set up. I hear older customers like the standard set up because of the brightness. I personally like both. I think because the picture that we see in the store gives us a sense of that's what the new tv's look like, then I like to put it on the standard mode when people come over. For everyday use, I am good with the calibrated settings because it's supposed to let the tv last longer as it's not pushing as much power. If you already have the tech support, then at $50 it's not bad. But if I were to have to pay $250 just for a calibration, I don't think I would. I could use that $ on another Home Theater component at this point. My tech was great though, friendly and explained everything. I didn't feel like I was trying to be upsold or swayed into anything.
