    This tv is garbage!  1 when i watch netflix the screen always go snowy or green. 2 apple airplay is broken only lets me play once in a while 3 when ever i cast the screen always goes to a half screen. I spoke with vizio customer service 3 times and every time they siad the problem was fixed. This tv is so frustrating. Trust me spend your money on a better tv because this tv is stright trash.

    Vizio TV 40” D-Series D40f-J09, a 2021 model.

    I have loved Vizio TV’s for 10 years, but this new 40” D-Series Model D40f-J09 might change that. The previous Vizio 40” model (a V-Series which Vizio just discontinued in March 2021) does not have these problems below. There is no longer a Vizio 40” V-Series model. And, due to this model’s problems, I may be forced to decide to return the other new Vizio TV I purchased at the same time, a (43”) V-Series, which I haven’t even opened the box yet. 1.) Picture quality is NOT as good as my older Vizio TV’s, even though this new one is Full Array, not Edge Lit. 2.) Using the Input button to switch from “TV” to “Game” to “Blu-Ray” is very faulty. When I select one, the TV activates the one to it’s left. Then, after 3 or 4 attempts, it finally activated the one I want. Very bad. 3.) Even though the Channel Scan found almost 40 digital channels, only two of them would display. All of them DID show in the list of channels in Settings, but they wouldn’t display. Finally got them to display after 1.5 hours of doing it over and over and over…..but don’t know how I did it. I was wondering if the new TV was faulty, or if the channel button on the remote was. Still not sure. 4.) The built-in User Manual in “Settings” will not open or display. I only get error messages telling me it can’t open at this time. 5.) Sound is also a problem. No matter which TV sound settings I choose, there is an echo happening between the TV and the new Roku Sound Bar—even when the TV’s speakers are set to “Off”, and regardless of using the Digital Optical cord/cable between the TV and the Sound Bar. ***Please note that the TV WAS completely updated to its latest software before any of these problems appeared, as the TV automatically goes into its Update process as soon as you start the new TV’s Setup process.***

To make sure you’re getting the most out of your VIZIO TV, we’d recommend making sure your devices are connected with an HDMI cable, and are set to broadcast in Full HD (1080p). You can also individually adjust your picture settings in the menu. For brighter rooms, try using the ‘VIVID’ picture mode for a brighter, more colorful image. In regards to a user manual, the TV will need to be connected to an internet connection before it can be accessed. The user manual is also available at support.vizio.com and then searching your model number. When turning the TV speakers off in the settings menus, do the speakers still play audio? If the TV speakers do not turn off properly or you would assistance with any other questions, please reach out to our support team on support.VIZIO.com by clicking 'Contact Us'.
