Customers are impressed with the picture quality, black levels, and HDR capabilities of this 50" Vizio TV, frequently citing its excellent value for the price. However, some users have noted issues with the remote control and viewing angles, while others found the casting functionality and upscaling to be less than ideal. The ease of use and brightness were also praised by many. A few customers mentioned concerns about the refresh rate.

Looked at dozens of TVs before deciding on the Vizio P50 C1. Reviews on picture quality were A+. My set confirms this. The picture quality is beyond my expectations. Best I've ever seen. But as to the Android Tablet Remote & Smart Cast, well, that's a bear to learn and master. Much more difficult than a good remote control.

Games and movies look amazing. For the price you can't go wrong with this tv. The only downside would be the lack of integrated apps as everything is powered by the included free tablet. You can also use your phone in cases where the tablet is discharged. Great tv either way no complaints what so ever.

Matt McRae is the CTO and marketing head of Vizio, and he has a presence on Twitter and an army of beta testers at the AVS Forum. That, in my book, makes the company a keeper. The TV itself is amazing, and gets updates all the time. You can tell the software isn't 5-star stuff, but they try. The remote is getting updated soon enough, maybe for this/next year's models, but for now if you have this TV you get the awful non-functional dumb remote plus a neat 1080p Android tablet that acts as a remote instead. the Android app review should be left separate from this review, but they fix things all the time. If you go to Rtings you can find more numerical reviews which say a lot of what I could, so I'll instead give smaller pointers. 1. The 50", 65", and 75" models have VA panels (great color, meh viewing angles), while the 55" has an IPS panel (good color, great viewing angles). 2. If you're gaming get 55" or above, as the display lag is cut in half if you can feed it a 120Hz signal.

My history with flat screens has not been real positive. 2 Samsung units died after relatively short time. Purchased the Vizio unit because it's really a TV monitor and I was hoping, due to the simplicity of the design, it will last longer. As I purchased this over a year ago, I had received a tablet to use as a remote, great concept, poor execution. Either the battery died or charging is not working, in any case, Vizio offered a free replacement remote about 3 months ago and that is working fine. The TV itself is tremendous. Color, clarity, really nice black tone. I would recommend this to anyone!

I am blown away by the picture. The blacks are the best I've ever seen on a VA panel and it has good viewing angles. The colors pop off the screen and I notice no lag during gaming and minimal motion blur. My first Vizio set and I am very impressed Great replacement to my Panasonic Plasma

This TV has a great picture with excellent black level when sitting directly in front of the display. However, even the slightest off axis viewing completely washes out the picture.

If you are looking to upgrade your tv soon, I'd definitely recommend checking out this Vizio 50" 4K picture. My son and I spent what seems like hours walking back and forth in the tv section and always came back to this one. Quite simply the best picture, features and sound of any tv near this same price in store. Blown away at how crisp the image is. One suggestion is consider standard remote over android controller if you are not typically a gadget guru. Android controller takes a bit of fooling with to figure out.

Display had a great picture that is even better after some calibration. Everything looks crystal clear and gorgeous on it. Motion is good and works great as a computer monitor as well, Doom is amazing at 4k 60hz with everything maxed out.

Wonderfully stunning, crisp, clear picture, good audio, and more than enough inputs. However, as with most technology today, this tunerless TV is exceedingly lacking in documentation. At 65, I realize I'm more tech savvy than most my age, and I feel sorry for those who don't have the knowledge to do the research necessary to connect this TV with peripherals.

I did soooo much research before buying a t.v., I have a 2015 M series in my living room and I am very happy with it, this purchase was for my bedroom and at 1st I was going to get the new M series after doing much reviews online and hearing so much good things about the P series I decided to get the P50-C1, seems like the biggest complaint is with the casting with the tablet (remote control) but I have had no issues with it but I could see where someone with not very much tablet exp. could run into this problem, I really like the tv and have nothing bad to say about it at all, the most surprising thing to me is how bright this tv can get, with the lights off in my bedroom it's like having a light on, it is really bright but that is when I have it on vivid.

Believe the hype. Vizio has done it! This panel has completely changed the way I see my content. I recently purchased an Xbox One S, and I couldn't be happier with the HDR Blu Ray quality.

Vizio has gotten very good over the years, and I feel this TV is their first that can stand up against Samsung and LG. First off, the Vizio P-Series supports BOTH HDR standards: HDR10 and Dolby Vision. Second, 5 HDMIs with pretty decent latency for gaming ~40-60 for 1080p and ~100 for 4K and HDR. I have a PS4 Pro, and I don't think the latency is too bad, especially when you realize you are paying less than 1k on this display. Third, the remote is no gimmick. It's so cool to pull out my iPhone, open YouTube, and with one click, my TV turns on and the video I selected is playing.

I have not had this TV but for a few days so I can't speak for it's longevity. What I can say is that I don't think you're going to get a better deal for the kind of quality of this set. I got this as an open box item and it was missing the remote....not the tablet. Was clean and I have no complaints and no regrets. The tablet takes some getting used to but it's really cool once you get a feel for it. I think it's a great idea and would expect to see more companies doing things like this in the future. Picture quality is really fantastic....great buy.

I researched this purchase extensively before buying this display. The reviews from reputable sites, including Cnet, The Verge and Engadget all concur in their high marks for this display. Does require some picture setting adjustments. Using the settings recommended on Cent did the trick. Does not upscale 720p too well. I would recommend having your receiver upscale 720p and lower to 1080p and allowing the display to upgrade from their. Purchased this display for $800 during the Memorial Day sale which makes it an unbeatable value.

The best non OLED TV on the market

If you want the best picture in a TV that is priced reasonable, you can get none better than this VISIO P Series. It doesn't have 3D or a tuner, but for most that is no problem. OLED has a better picture, but is priced double these TV's. Also if you need a 50 inch TV and want the best picture, this is the one. Currently OLED doesn't have a 50 inch TV. New companies may include 50" and smaller in OLED soon.
