Me and my wife absolutely love this device. Only downside is that plastic around the screen on the handheld is easily damaged. And ours has a crack, but other than that, it is phenomenal. And it is honestly a huge, huge help.

My wife and I have been through two of these in two years. The first one died within warranty (battery wouldn’t hold a charge at all), but the replacement we were sent is no longer under warranty, according to their support team. The camera no longer maintains connection to the parent unit (monitor). Every time I restart the camera, it works for maybe a couple of minutes.
Quality of the overall product is good, when they actually work. But they apparently don’t keep working very long, based on our experience.

Loses connection - turns off by itself

Worked great for about a month even though I had to keep it charging at all times or it would lose battery within a couple hours. Which is fine, not a big deal. But after that month, it started losing connection more often. Tried connecting it to wifi, placing the parent unit closer to the baby unit, nothing would help. Then the baby unit began turning off by itself. The switch is still on the ‘ON’ position but the camera was off so the parent unit won’t connect. I would then have to walk in my sleeping child’s room, turn it off then on again and it would stay connected maybe 2 minutes before turning off again. Tried plugging it into a different outlet and same story. So it makes for a great $99+TAX paper weight now. Tried contacting vtech for support and although they said they would get back to me within 2-3 business days, it’s been 2 weeks and I haven’t heard back. I asked others who have the same model monitor and they have all experienced the same issues so it’s not just this disappointed parent here. I’m not taking any more chances with any vtech products again.

When the camera reconnects to the WiFi network, allow it to sit for 4-6 hours to allow sufficient time to fetch and install the latest update. Overall, it’s a pretty good monitor. I like the alarm it has on it. When your baby is crying it will beep and you can set all sound levels and sensitivity. The only downfall of this monitor is the temperature does not read correctly at all.

This item is great when it works. The issue is, we tried to use the app, and now the item no longer works. It would not connect to WiFi despite me following the directions. After that it will no longer connect to itself. Tried factory resetting and everything else for the last two hours. The paperwork and support is absolutely no help either. If you don't touch anything though the device works and works well. My advice is if you get this don't touch any settings when you get it working.

Overall this is my favorite baby cam but battery sucks so bad. It basically has to be plugged in all the time and it’s brand new. Vtech needs to step it up. Cam quality is great and sound sensitivity is spot on. I do highly recommend this product but just know the battery is total crap.

Im impressed with the video quality coming through the monitor screen. The real reason why I purchased product was to view off of app as well when not home but it doesn’t work well with it. App needs a lot of updating. I also didn’t think the sound was loud of camera for the music option
