I bought this as a storage upgrade for my Steam Deck and it does not disappoint, plenty of storage for my games and a nice jump in loading compared to the storage it came with. Overall it’s perfect for those with large game libraries or those that want a good jump in system response.

Great piece of hardware, as a first timer in replacing SSD’s it was hard to figure out data copying/transfer but it works perfect and it’s honestly shocking how they manage to get 2TB on such a tiny SSD (mines 1.96 to be exact).

I've had this drive installed for about three weeks now and have nothing negative to say about it. It's fast and has tons of storage. Exactly what you'd expect of a small factor SSD.

OMG. This is the fastest m.2 2230 ssd ever. Slap this bad boy in my Lenovo Legion Go and it transformed it into a beast. The read/write speed exceeds expectations. A must buy. Just a little expensive but it’s definitely worth it. Outperforms all m.2 2230 on the market. First picture is the Speedtest of the ssd inside the Legion go and the Second picture is the Speedtest of the WD black SN 770M

The WD-Black SN770M 2230 SSD is a great way to have a pocket-sized backup drive that contains all of your applications, music and movies. Installation is easy and when combined with the latest cases, which include fans, keeping it cool is not a problem.

I upgraded the memory in my steam deck oled from 512gb to 2tb and it works great. Installation was very simple using instructions found on YouTube. A great choice if you’ve got one of those new PC portables.

Best SSD card you can get to upgrade your gaming device by far. This thing is incredibly fast. Definitely better than the stock ssd. Also comes with an app that you can check on the health and other features as well

I was looking to expand my storage on the ROG ALLY and my friend recommended this. Best purchase so far. Bigger internal storage and I don't have to deal with micro SD cards (ROG Ally are having issues with the SD card placement on device being so close to where fans exhaust hot air).

I got this SSD for my 512 gb deck. The goal is to extend the storage to never think of managing the storage for my games. Beautiful slim SSD with 1.8 tb usable storage. A great choice to consider in my opinion.

The Western Digital Black SN770M is an excellent 2230 NVMe choice for internal storage upgrades, particularly for the ROG Ally, which ships with just 1 TB that fills up quickly. WD has a long history in making quality and affordable HDD and SSDs with high reliability. This is especially true of their "Black" line, which is geared as a higher end tier with faster transfer speeds. This device does not disappoint either in that category, with real world speeds up to 5,150 MB/s. The storage structure is TLC 3D NAND. Being that it's 3D TLC, we see it as a high reliability structure with fast speed capability. Pair that with the 5yr warranty from WD, and you're looking at a great storage device. In my experience with this, it installed easily and was used in my Ally, with the transfer process seamless and this SSD giving no issues, whereas I've seen other users with competitor drives having a multitude of issues not recognizing the drive. This could stem from several issues, but at least I didn't have any trouble. I now notice quicker game selection and loading, as well as the boon of increased storage so I'm not limited to what I can have installed on my device. Though, it should be noted that this 2230 SSD can be slotted into any compatible device supporting the length/form factor standard, and it will function just fine. The only potential concern I have is the possible heat build up in such a small drive size, but that can be limited by the power usage regulation, though it's not something I've noticed or had to do in my installed device to date. Overall, this is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to upgrade or install a 2230 SSD.
