Easy to install. Have installed a couple and have yet to have failure. Solid drive for the money.

Great drive as a replacement to a semi-dead one. Plugged in easy, recognized by system, and fast to re-install the OS. Will probably get another similar version to install 10 or 11 in the near future and run this as a backup / redundant OS.

I have had this product for almost a year now and it has performed admirably. I use it for storing my pc games on mainly and it has worked beautifully. I have played games such as fortnite, Witcher 3, Quantum Break, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Doom and all of these games have performed like their supposed to with my setup. And most importantly, its CHEAP. Get it if you need mass storage

I finally decided that since so many of the computer games that I play these days are digital only, or that require so many downloads even if they were bought on a DVD-ROM, that I needed to get a hard drive with more storage. I had been making do with a Western Digital 320 GB hard drive paired with another one that is 250 GB. I kept the newer of the two (the 320 GB) one as the back up drive and installed this one in the place of the smaller drive. Installation was just as easy as it has always been since I made sure that the width of the new drive would fit in my PC's drive bay. Western Digital has maintained good quality and this new one seems to be as well built as older ones I've used. My computer (running Windows 8.1) recognized the drive no problem and I was able to install the operating system on it easily. I've used this drive almost every day since I bought it for surfing the net, productivity software and gaming. I've installed and played some fairly demanding games on it and haven't noticed any increase in noise, even when the game is really taxing the hardware, over my old drive. I can wholeheartedly recommend this drive.

Pretty much the name of the hard drive "Mainstream" says it all. This is pretty much the standard hard drive you want to get if you need a new one, want a backup or are replacing a dying one like I had to do. This thing has a good warranty and in most cases should last WAY longer than your PC will last anyways. 1TB should cover most people with plenty of room for games, movies, pictures, apps, etc.

I have been buying only Seagate products for a number of years. I work as a software engineer though and do Full stack web dev on the side. I had an issue come up where I need to get another hard drive and quickly. The client I was working with refused to shell out the cash that was necessary for a WD Red or Black which I suggested for the uses that had intended it for and they settled for the blue instead. With this being on a system that I regularly access I can say from experience that I am impressed with this drive. Out of the box it seemed pretty run of the mill but it boots up quick, does decent for file transfer, doesn't take to much time to read or write anything to it at all and I haven't heard it make a single sound. I might have to pick up a WD black for my next personal build and give it a shot. I would gladly recommend WD (maybe not over Seagate, but would recommend none the less).

I needed a new hard drive to replace the one that crashed. This hard drive had more space at 1TB than my previous drive. It was easy to install and very quiet. I would recommend this hard drive.

Its a big old hard drive. It stores stuff, is super quiet, and was cheap. I'd definitely buy again.

After a "windows 10 update" caused my system to freeze rendering it useless I decided to install a second WD 1tb drive. My first was in my desktop when I purchased it in 2011. After reinstalling all my software and Windows, I now use my new drive to "mirror" the first drive. I've had it installed for two months now and have experienced no problems. The SATA cable I used also fit perfectly and works fine.

Drive is only 2 months+ old, but so far it's working just fine. Easy to install & setup w/the OS & has plenty of room for movies, music, games, etc. So far I'm happy.

Runs nice and quiet. Seems to run cooler than my last drive. 7200 rpm at 6 Gbps. Overall a fine drive.

Bought two of these hard drives because of a emergency due to my existing hard drive failed. Not my first choice, but Best Buy only had these currently stocked on the shelf at my local store at the time. Both drives worked well (running Raid 1). After about a week I upgraded to WD Black drives, now using these as a storage drive for hard drive backups. They are a good basic all around drive, have had no issues.

These hard drives are great for everyday uses on the PC. Cheap and quick to install. The installation of these hard drives can take 10 minutes and you can be back up and running your computer. I repaired two of my family computers when their old hard drive crashed and stopped working with these hard drives and they are still running like champs. Would recommend.

The drive was easy to install. It is quiet and fast. There is no cable included though. That's sorry.

Bought this to replace the wife's main drive in her windows pc since it was starting to fail. Luckily I was able to clone all the data over on the this one with no problems. Drive works great, very quiet and fast for being just a blue drive. Always relied on WD drives, never had one fail yet!
