Works fast connected to my network. Great transfer speed. Keep most of my music and movies on it to share all around the house and space hasn't even cross my mind

This external HD works great. Its an excellent addition to my current storage. I ran out of room inside for internal HDs so this allowed me to further expand. I leave it plugged in and have no issues with mounting. Its plugged in USB 3.0 speeds are up there the same as my internal sata drives.

It's great for Laptop and/or Desktop storage. It does take up a lot of space, has great security, you can put a password on it, great support from a company that put their customers first

I like the form and function of this drive. I have a thiusands of photos and slides to convert to digital.

This External USB Hard Drive offers me all of the back-up capacity I could ever want and has a nice, unobtrusive appearance on my desk. My only annoyance is that it can sometimes be a bit noisy.

Bought this to replace my Apple TimeCapsule that finally bit the dirt. This drive works great, super fast, and reliable storage for my backups. Works seamlessly with Apple TimeMachine software.

The drive does what it should. However, people need to know that it ships with a newer file system than computer had just a year ago. The computer would not boot with it connected at first. However, when I reformatted it to the data file format of the internal hard drives it worked perfectly using Dell Backup and Recovery.

As expected, it’s a solid and reliable WD product at a fair price.

I bought this drive to store and backup miscellaneous files and images. Plenty of room on the drive. It works with all my notebooks and netbooks running Windows 7 and/or Windows 10. Reasonable quick transfer times copying large files to the drive for safe keeping.

I have used My Book storage units for four or five years and have never had any problem with them. I have six WD units, with usage ranging from auto back-up to the storage of high resolution audio files. I highly recommend these units!

This external drive does everything I need it to do. It serves as storage for entertainment content only, movies, music and photos leaving the PC's memory for the PC and not bogging it down with out other stuff. Highly recommend if you want to start a home digital library yourself. Thanks!

I love the ease of saving images to this external hard drive, the amount it holds, along with the durability and design of the unit itself. No more worrying about a smaller external hard drive falling off my computer tower, as this one securely stands on its own!

I purchased this WD 4TB HDD to replace a WD 1TB HDD that ran for 24 hours a day 7 days a week for 8 years. Never had any trouble with the 1TB. Did not use the software that came with the WD HDD and don't plan on using it with this new one. Reason I purchased the new drive was only due to the age of the 1TB I was using. I use the WD HDD for Windows 10 automatic back up. I also have a second WD 4TB HDD that I have had for a year. I use it to manually add files as I go along. It's also been running 24 hours 7 days a week for a year now. I believe WD has a great product here. Plug and play Windows ready. I was having trouble registering my product on line. I emailed WD about the issue. They got back to me right away and set me up with a solution. I trust this product and the folks who are behind it.

No problems hooking this right to the Xbox One S. Once plugged in the Xbox asked me how I wanted to format it either for games or for music. Now I have a ton of storage for games. Installed my whole library and still have room for more. Plug play and forget the best solution for extra storage.

I use the WD My Book 4TB for time machine backup on a iMac 5K desktop computer. The drive is very stable and while connect to a USBC hub has never disconnect or the OS has never dismounted this disk. I have been using this disk for about 3 months with zero issues.

The 4 TB external hard drives (I purchased two) work well. Performance is as expected. One note - the unit does not have an indicator light to indicate that the unit is on. The previous generation (2 TB) did have a light. This does not cause problems for me, but may be important to some.

I like the external drive, but it has problems with Time Capsule. The disc is prepared best I know for backup. However, after one complete backup Time Capsule is unable to do serial backups. This jams my computer since considerable CPU time is spent trying to accomplish the task. Advice appreciated.
