    This is a good, large drive for backing up or archiving files. I anticipating also using it for current files, but it is pretty slow for that. Instead, I'm using it as a back up and that has allowed me to free up space on my old drive for current work. (yes, a bit disappointing that the old drive is much more responsive)

    The disk is an excellent product and well worth the money. But when I tried to register the serial number, the WD site told me it was an invalid serial number. After a couple of tries with support they finally told me to send the proof of purchase to them and it took them a week to verify their own serial number. Not sure they have their act together in the warranty department.
