    I do like these, however, regardless of manufacturer they do need to be replaced occasionally. It's why i bought this item. It was a replacement and upgrade for another similar drive that was starting to show signs of going bad.

    My Book devices are generally some of the most stable externals on the market. This one has proven to be just as stable. While the HDD is empty you can get read or write speeds of 200MB/s, once the drive has more data expect read / write speeds to drop down to 140MB/s. If you need more storage you might want to hold out, a 10TB model is due to be released soon.

    Transfers data fast, I really like that they relocated the USB and power ports towards the middle of the drive, instead of having them at the bottom like in older models. This makes it really convenient to plug things in, instead of having to narrowly plug cables in at the base like before. Drive also looks great and doesn't seem to scratch up like older models.

    These are working and are inexpensive but they are so slow. I have to wait for them to spin up, seemingly, all the time. I've changed the timeout in the app and in my Mac book settings. makes not difference.
