Great Price at Best Buy compared to all the other competitors out there. This is a great unit by Western Digital. Perfect for Backup of my NAS just in case a drive goes down. It's fast and as a bonus looks really good on my desk. I highly recommend this.

Would have given 5 stars, but when I installed to my computer, the product said an update was needed and to click the button below. Did so, and nothing happened that could indicated an update was given. Not sure if this is a good thing or not.

This is about the 4th of these I have purchased. I am transferring my DVD's onto them. I am able to transport them wherever I go and watch movies without having to tote my DVD's. I highly recommend this product - very easy to use.

I am using this drive solely as a backup drive to save all my information from time to time just in case. It seemed to take a few tries out of the box to warm up transferring just over 500 GB of data. It would stop in the middle of it and I would either have to start over or manage to get it to continue. I formatted the drive twice before it finally decided to transfer all the data I was copying. I don't know too many drives that can transfer that much information and not have issues so I wouldn't say it's a bad product, just takes a little patience. Smaller data transfers seem to work much better if you have time.

Fast enough, but not for people like me who need quiet. It was very noisy on my desktop but I might not have noticed if it were in a "storage bay/closet."

One Amazing Handful of Hardware! It really does the job! Best friend to have with you when you have to bring your cpu / lt / tblt / etc in for service. Amazingly affordable!!!

I purchased this hard Drive because we have several new PC's in the house and they don't have disc drives. Having this unit allows me to back all of them up automatically without any problems.

These were purchased in order to take out the hard drive from the enclosure. I use these in a large data hoarder configuration and all the drives that I've purchased and shucked are working perfectly! Would highly recommend!

Does what it needs to do without any problems. Have not fully explored all features, but I bought it with the primary role of backing up all my photos and documents. For that, it's perfect.

A loyal fan to this product for many years and have never had an issue with any of their portable hard drives.

Wanted to use this as a pseudo NASBox, but there was a conflict between the Linksys modem and this unit (I think it was too large a drive). I ended up using two smaller drives and set this up as a backup on my main computer system. It works fine in that role!

Apparently, reliability is OK as long as you are lucky. Most of these go strong for long. Although there are reports of these failing, so far only the portable one, 2.5” has a failure event.

Bought this for 169 and farming chia. Nice value compared to other options.

It worked well for about a month. It tipped over once from it's standing position onto the desk. It never worked again. Would never purchase again.

My only recommendation is that you make sure that this,or any external drive is compatible with your i Mac. The box stated that it was formatted for Mac but my model was not supported because it was too old. Beware. Nothing to do with the hard drive,

This is a great external drive and no issues at all. We use this as our external drive for our PS5. It is fast and the transfer of games back and forth is fast!!

I bought this external drive to back up both the internal and external 3gb drives. Plug it into a Windows 10 PC and it is ready to go. Install the provided backup software to automate backup tasks.

Looks and works great, but access can be slow at times. Takes awhile to wake up from sleep mode. Sometimes I think it isn't working. Pretty reasonable for the price though.

This HDD is the best and at a great price. It's reliable and so silent. it makes no noise at all. and boy is it fast. I can't believe I got such a great HDD for such a low price. I definitely want to get another one.

This Western Digital 8TB External hard drive has a massive amount of storage for my system backups and media! I have always had good experience with WD drives and their warranties are great as well!
