After the 2 year warranty, reads but wont write..

I would often get freezing when I'd try to delete anything off my device or download files to it. Right now I can still open anything prior to drive going bad, but any time it gets a single kb of space downloaded to it, it just flat out refuses to respond and freezes my explorer permanently until I unplug the power to the enclosure. It's unfortunate really, but I've moved to the Easystore drives for their more reliable Red drives that are placed into the enclosures instead of these Blue Drives. It's also disappointing because I had Geek Squad protection and it just ran out about 4 months ago and this happened right after the 2-year limited warranty with WD and 2 years with Geek Squad. If this was like the Easystores, I'd personally take it out of the enclosure and see if it was an enclosure problem. But if I'm not mistaken these particular models are locked to the enclosure basically rendering them useless if they go bad. Honestly, I'd steer away from this model and go for the Easystore drives instead for more reliability.

Great Value, Makes Considerable amount of Noise
